Tasianna’s and Vifi’s kidnapping by a giant elemental slime had happened about eight hours ago, with it currently being in the evening. Though since we were so far north, the sun hadn’t died down just yet. I guess that meant our planet probably had some tilt, or whatever it was called. Honestly, I would have preferred if I could have acted sooner since my dearest older brother—who for some reason took three weeks to find me—Nong had told me off for trying to fly out due to my still growing core. Yeah… I still needed, probably, two more days until I was combat-ready. Though, that wasn’t a good enough excuse for me. Where would I be if I were to abandon my teammates for two days, not knowing if they would be safe until I could fight? That sounded ridiculous to me when I didn’t have to fight to contribute. Nong really underestimated how often I was just the support character while I made people like Neill or Vifi the main characters with all my buffs. I needed my fully complete solar core to fight as the main damage dealer with [Ruby Shredder] and [Symphonie des Feuergottes], but [Sun, Consume All] and, now, [Ruby Star] gave me fantastic supportive solar-based options to help anybody I wanted. I could make Nong even more of a main character if I wanted. Big Bro already was pretty menacing if you omitted the fact that he was eccentric and comically late for somebody so fast. Those three weeks of him being missing weren’t a joke, and he wasn’t even willing to tell me why that was the case. Though, I wasn’t petty enough to not support him if needed, as not only did my appraisal identify the giant elemental slime as two elemental emperors, but it also looked like they were the masterminds of this entire fiasco we encountered in our glacier adventures. After all, not only did that dragonslayer mandogonga follow their lead, but also an army full of ice elementals and various fauna living in the glacier. And this growing, cascading wave of foes was all marching and flying towards the south—towards the rest of Frozen Nest. Context really mattered here, as I earnestly thought that dragon, Yothmlak, was the real culprit behind all these troubles. It made sense when Tasianna and Vifi explained the situation to me, of how a dragon’s greed for power had caused an already tenuous relationship with the ice elementals to fully sever. It, honestly, didn’t sound too far-fetched. Dragons coming to the glacier already hunted elementals as if they were mammoths, so it wouldn’t surprise me if one toed the line too much and the usually carefree ice elementals thought enough was enough. It sounded so simple! … So why did I have to meet two more elemental emperors? Meeting the Earth Elemental Emperor and seeing what they could do to cause chaos was enough already! It really looked like the month I invested to make my plans come true was about to go to waste, but being flexible was already something I got used to. Tasianna and Vifi needed to be rescued, and we had to do something about this giant army moving south. So, the clear answer was to use Nong’s power and boost it up so we could— [“The massive slime has better wind control than me! I can’t approach them at all!”] Nong shouted during the first three hours of our “raid.” [“There are too many for us to fight properly, Lady Hestia!”] Beth yelled as the elementals and monsters were protecting the slow-moving slime. Shay, though, had probably the worst report. [“The slime is growing, my lady! Its form is twisting into something more recognizable. Something humanoid with how it’s trying to form legs. Black mana is streaming from Vifi towards Tasianna’s and that scaled necklace.”] Divine Quest: Trial of the Silver Dragon Patriarch Quest Giver: God of Dragons and Oaths, Kargryxmor Description: The last of the three mementos has been found by your retainers, Tasianna and Vifi. Nordoramsul’s artifact is a necklace made from the scales of the ice dragonkin who fell during the demon war. You could say he was collecting scales like the ‘dog tags’ from Earth, as we in Peolynca use IDs as an equivalent. To us dragonkin, our scales are our pride and identity to many, and that necklace was made to remember them by. However, due to the circumstances of their deaths, many of the scales Nordoramsul had collected had lingering demonic energy tainting them. Not enough to actually cause much trouble, but the energy had slightly corrupted something I hadn’t expected to meet in Frozen Nest—the defeated Water and Wind Elemental Emperor. As my blessed, I now relay this information to you as the time for me to speak about it has come. The truth will soon be revealed even without my interference. Earnestly, once again, your accelerated growth including your friendship with your fairy and demonkin retainer had turned this issue into another matter. Consider this Quest as two. Obtain the necklace so that the three artifacts you must collect may be assembled, and with them, another change to your powers. At the same time, assure the safety of Frozen Nest’s civilization and defeat the Wind and Water Elemental Emperor who are growing to become a demi-god once more. Granddaughter, may this be your first true draconic Divine Quest. Protect your new home as its princess and idol! Reward: A change for Nordoramsul’s necklace So, that was the context. Thankfully, Kramps was able to reveal quite a lot outside of the background of these elementals. Assumingly, Yothmlak most likely had something to do with all of this, allowing Kramps at least a glimpse of the truth behind this issue depending on how much that dragon worshiped Kramps. Which, I presumed, was minimal. It was more likely that Kramps could look through Tasianna’s eyes considering how pious she was, even towards gods outside of her elemental pantheon. With all of this happening, I was starting to regret that I was still inside that underground chamber we’ve been staying inside for the last month. Yes, even after eight hours since that slime appeared and was about to reach the tundra, so the border of the glacier. I knew the time exactly since our good artificers from the digital media guild made sure to include a clock inspired by Earth. And by that, I meant Haruka made sure to put Earth’s touch to everything as I was streaming all of this to the rest of Frozen Nest! “Chat… I would rather not use my authority as a princess here, but I already did to expedite this project so I’ll just say it now—we got a big problem,” I spoke to my recorder to live stream my reactions. Another recorder was being used by Beth to record everything while Nong and Shay were trying to figure out how we could beat this giant thing. These recordings were connected to my [Crystal of the Divine System] and it already had the mana signal to our land’s information tower, which were then relayed to the mana barrier of Iceskale, allowing everybody there to watch my stream if the tech was properly implemented. Now, Sieg did mention how the guild’s budget wouldn’t be affected by the sudden war between the ice dragonkin and leviathans, but that our projects would slow them a ton. Well, I was a damn princess and when I didn’t use my authority for times of need, then when should I be using it? … So I had Skardrvo bring in some of the bureaucrats and explained things to them, before I literally forced them to send in more builders and have any wyverns work overtime to complete the first information tower to allow me to stream. The money had to come from our clan’s vault, but I did promise to repay them once I got in contact with Saori. That happened simultaneously as I had Gravy build me a monster room, and in just short of a month, the tower was finished and I managed to have my first test stream by sending my feed back to the Nordor clan’s mansion. I intended for them to watch me expose Yothmlak’s crimes so I could have him face consequences, but it seemed like I was exposing something far more dangerous. We currently only have young scales, so this type of battle will be difficult. Yet, for now, all citizens will be evacuated to the Iceskale! All wyverns, dragons, and drakes large enough to carry humanoids will be sent to escort them south! I complained to myself, but didn’t linger too much on it before I saw something appear on the crystal. Oh! People are finally writing! Yes “I can! Then again, Skardvro is literally a public servant since he acts as our clan’s representative if either Mom or I are away. In any case, that was the situation of the stream. I had also ordered Skardvro to send a crystal on our fastest flyer to the people living in the countryside hamlets so they could see my stream, so they had to be preparing things right about now. Svena’s warning was important, though, as when I started the stream, I was actually getting immersed in it since the chat was starting to turn lively with the free promotion I gave the digital media guild. It took me a while to understand why the elemental had ingested Tasianna and Vifi. It was obvious the elementals were after the fact Tasianna was crowned the next Ice Elemental King, which meant she had access to a source of true ice mana outside of Mom. Vifi, though, was a bit confusing until I talked with Kramps again, where he noted the demonic energy in the necklace and in Vifi’s body. Since I knew the Origin Gods were former Edjurl Gods, the elementals were most likely interested in the demonic energy as a way to gain godhood. As such, I had an idea when Hikari noted how mana was escaping from Vifi’s and Tasianna’s body, nourishing the slime’s body to grow more humanoid. There was a vortex of ice, wind, and water mana circulating the elemental’s slime body, strong enough that even Nong couldn’t break through it. None could reach Vifi or Tasianna in this state, and talking to them was probably also impossible, especially with the army protecting them. Thankfully, there was another way for me to communicate with my friends outside of even [Telepathy], and that was the fact that my songs could reach my audience’s soul! Hikari! Let’s have a duet! As long as I was performing my idol performance live and they could hear me, they would receive [Music Resonation]. So, by equipping Shay with a crystal so he could stream my duet with Hikari, even the army of elementals could hear us play [Starstruck Winterscape] while I sang [My Darkest Thoughts]. A beautiful, serene violin and piano piece with slightly somber notes, somehow, mixed quite well with the almost melancholic serenade of [My Darkest Thought]. By going ritardando with [Starstruck Winterscape], so slowing down the tempo in a half-time style, the notes were starting to harmonize. If I raised my tone a bit, singing a note higher, the melancholy was starting to vanish. ‘So fucking fun!’ Hikari ended my sentence. ‘We can’t change everything, but you can really create more diverse emotions and artistic tones if we change some concepts of a song around. Even if it’s a departure from the original, what matters is that the two songs sound good together!’ Hikari nailed the explanation. Being inflexible was the bane of my past life. I shouted in my head as I noticed her unconscious body move suddenly. This small movement was all I needed to smirk as if I had solved a hard puzzle. “You can hear me, right? Haa, wasn’t I ruining my original work by splashing a shade of paint on it that didn’t fit its hues? If I was a painter, that would be how I would feel with this method, but I guess I was a [Musical Renaissance Diva], after all. Even if it was just a Job skill, it felt too fitting how I was bastardizing my own work! Haha, though now the song felt so much more fitting with [Burn All the Hatred Away].
