At night, Shi Mianmian finally cried herself to sleep, while Shi Su lay beside her, unable to find any sleepiness. She had no idea how much time had passed when Mianmian suddenly woke up, got up, climbed out of the small bed, opened the door to the children’s room, and headed to the bathroom in the living room. However, Shi Mianmian didn’t return right after using the bathroom as usual. After waiting for a while, just as Shi Su was about to go out and check on her, she suddenly heard a man’s voice from outside. Jing Jihan was already in the living room waiting for Mianmian when she came out of the bathroom. Shi Mianmian looked a bit bewildered from sleep, but her eyes were still red and swollen. Seeing Ji Han Uncle, she immediately pouted her little mouth, looking wronged and wanting to rush over. But remembering mommy’s words, she didn’t dare, and just stood there awkwardly with her eyes flushed. "Come here." Jing Jihan waved to her. Mianmian sniffled, couldn’t help herself, and quickly ran over. As Jing Jihan bent down, she hugged his arm and whispered, "Uncle, Mianmian doesn’t want Uncle to leave." Jing Jihan held the little girl’s hand and led her to the side of the sofa, lifted her onto it, and bent down to seriously look at her: "Do you still remember the promise I made to you?" Shi Mianmian first shook her head blankly, then remembered what Uncle had said, and quickly nodded obediently. He gently stroked her soft hair: "If the time does come for me to leave, I won’t sneak away. I will properly say goodbye to you. Do you understand what goodbye means? It means we will meet again and won’t lose touch because of it. Uncle won’t disappear into thin air. If you need me, I’ll be there, okay?" Mianmian still pouted at him, watched him for a while, then raised her small hand, cautiously cupping Jing Jihan’s face with her chubby little hand, blinking her eyes and softly asked him, "And if mommy needs Uncle, will Uncle be there too?" Jing Jihan looked at this little girl, showing a face that anything good she has must be shared with mommy, and chuckled softly, his tone gentle: "I will." Shi Mianmian’s eyes brightened, she grinned, leaned closer to his face, tilting her little head, staring into his eyes, cheekily and persistently asked again: "Uncle, do you really not like my mommy?" She couldn’t help but want to add a few words: My mommy is gentle, beautiful, kind, and lovely, even though she’s a bit fierce at times, she’s still the best mommy. Mianmian is mommy’s treasure, and mommy is Mianmian’s big treasure. She hopes mommy won’t be so hard on herself anymore. Hopes a hero like in the cartoons would come to protect mommy. Hopes mommy becomes the happiest princess in the world. Mommy is Princess Susu, and she’s little Princess Mianmian... Jing Jihan gently took the small hand cupped to his face and placed it in his palm, looking into her eyes, pondering for a moment, then nodded: "I like." Shi Mianmian’s eyes instantly filled with happiness, almost jumping with excitement. Jing Jihan gave her a look, and the little girl quickly got the message, lifted her small hand to cover her mouth, but couldn’t hide the smile in her big eyes. Shi Su stood inside the door of the children’s room, trying hard to hear what the two were talking about. But she couldn’t hear. Mianmian had just been made to cry by her that night, and she hadn’t given Jing Jihan a good face. Now, for her to go out and break up their warm atmosphere would really be too impolite. So she could only eavesdrop from behind the door.
