Uh-oh. Trouble came knocking even without them looking for it–after all, they went to the Moon Cloud City to see if they could help with Darren’s trouble. The woman must have seen them entering the restaurant and come to ask for help out of desperation. "You can’t run away. Do you think anyone will come to save you?" A roguish voice floated over, rough and filled with sneer. "Don’t struggle too. I will give you a quick and painless death. Just obediently hand over your crystal core to us!" The woman let out a shriek of pain. Zerra observed with her senses. The men were clutching her hand as she struggled, releasing ice everywhere. "Shit, you bitch! You injured me!" One man cursed and released his hold on her, holding his hand that was now full of lacerations from the woman’s ice blades. "You are asking for it! Since you don’t want to cooperate, we will make sure to teach you a lesson. You will beg for death!" The other one cursed, clutching her hand roughly while staying vigilant in case she attacked again. However, the woman seemed to have used all her strength for that one desperate sneak attack. She didn’t even have the energy to resist anymore when they pushed her roughly to the ground. "That’s some nice-looking cars!" "Oh? This bitch ran here. It seems she has seen people going into this broken restaurant..." The voice trailed off for a moment. "Do you want to take their crystal cores too? Our power will definitely soar if we get a crystal core with the same attribute as ours!" "Hmm, we can’t pass up such an excellent opportunity," the other responded, his voice dripping with greed. The men tied the ice ability user woman in a few seconds and then began to bombard the door with their fists. "Anyone inside? Open the door!" They shouted rudely. Nyra and others were preparing the place to sleep when they heard people banging on the door. Meanwhile, Zerra was preparing dinner with Cassias, making rice bowls. She snapped back to her senses and turned to Cassias, wondering whether he also had heard what was happening outside based on his mental power. The two men were ability users, so the wooden door didn’t stand much chance against them. Soon, it was broken, revealing the activity inside. Zerra had been wondering where these two had gotten their gall from. There were only the two of them, and based on the number of cars parked outside, they must have been aware the number of people on her side was greater. Then, she got the answers. "Brothers!" They shouted. "There are people here." Their eyes were brimming with malice and greed as they saw the items on the tables. Following their loud shout, more men came, dragging bound ability users. "They must have a space ability user among them. Just look at these items! Make sure to let that one stay alive!" One man told others. There were at least over a dozen of them. Zerra just noticed that not all of them were men–there were also women among these robbers. No matter the gender, all of them look just as menacing with aggression all over their bodies. Their eyes lit up the moment they saw various items on the restaurant tables. "Hand over all your items–no, your space ability user. Hand over the person and we will let all of you go." The tallest man in the group tried to negotiate. They all took out their weapons in an attempt to intimidate. The blades glinted in the faint scarlet moonlight. "No, don’t trust them!" The woman, whose feet and hands were bound by the two men earlier, yelled. She warned them, "They will still go after all of you even if you hand over the space ability user." "You talk too much!" The men’s expressions changed instantly when they heard the woman’s words. The nearest man raised his foot. He was about to kick her when a sudden force intercepted him. It was Cassias’ dagger. The man toppled over, and blood spurted from his foot. They all became silent in an instant. Someone could throw a dagger with such precision from a long distance. "I am sorry for bringing all of you trouble." The woman broke the silence first. "I shouldn’t have come running in your direction." She didn’t seem to realize the shift in the atmosphere yet. Her gaze was trained on the floor. "What do you all want?" Nyra’s voice floated over as she approached them. Her expression hardened when she saw the sight of bound ability users. The men fell silent for a moment, but soon they came to their senses. They instantly felt ashamed that they had been intimidated by a lousy dagger skill. "Get up!" The tall man kicked his subordinate, who was lying on the floor, groaning in pain because of the wound from the dagger. The man winced and hurriedly tried to stand up. He limped over to their side. "Let’s just attack," the leader decided. "Once they are defeated, they will tell us for sure. Get their crystal cores!" They all charged toward Zerra’s group. She wanted to get up, but Cassias took her hand. "Just let others handle it. Let’s continue making dinner so that others won’t starve." Nerith, who was sitting beside her daughter, felt like she had been stuffed with a mouthful of dog food. Sensing her mother’s weird gaze, Zerra pulled her hand back from Cassias’. She observed the battle to mask her slight nervousness. It was Cassias’ fault. Doing things in front of her parents made her embarrassed! The fight didn’t even have suspense at all. When the men realized they had kicked an iron plate this time, they tried to run, but some ended up losing their lives. They left two people alive for questioning. The tallest leader and one of the two first men they saw. "Thank you." The woman thanked them when she was released. However, she still had a nervous look on her face even after she was safe. "I really brought trouble to you." She fiddled with her hands guiltily. "That’s fine. We have handled them." Laziel assured her. Content orıginally comes from 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡✶𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚✶𝙣𝙚𝙩 "It’s not like that." She avoided eye contact with him. "Even after you solve these people, there might be bigger problems. T-they have a backing." "We will handle them," Nyra told her. "But these people are really ruthless. They will kill you and take your crystal cores." The woman frowned. "Isn’t it just crystal cores? Why are they acting like that over a few stones?" Laziel scoffed, his forehead full of frowns. However, the woman’s answer was unexpected.
