[Location: Planet Grania.] [Time: A few dozen hours until Sunrise.] [Area: Foot of Planet Grania’s smallest mountain.] Skyler, a human being with the body-altered Gifted ability, had currently consumed energy from one of Earth’s beastly creatures with a crystal within it. Unlike the groundhog beast, the hog beast’s immense energy coursing through its body somehow transferred into her own. The power coursing through her veins gave her skin a faint glow, almost fooling Lord Grania into thinking she unlocked her Eneraflux. Once Grim explained the concept to the Emperor and Lord Grania, a decision was made to stop Skyler from fighting the beast. However, the woman was too focused on the beast, her mind and body itching to kill the creature as quickly and painfully as she possibly could. The beast, upon getting up on its feet, was too dazed and startled to move for a while. Skyler took this as an opportunity to strike, moving in swiftly with the beast’s tusks gripped tightly in her hands. The beast shook its head and jerked its feet in an attempt to frighten her off, but that didn’t work. Instead, it further prompted the woman to attack at full strength, hoping she’d get a clean kill with one strike. With one tusk repeatedly being shoved in its eye, and another in the forehead, the beast’s body shook in shock while Skyler repeatedly stabbed the creature quickly before it could react. By the time it did, she had already leaped off to a safe distance. The beast’s crystal shone at this point, no longer emitting a gentle, soft glow. The veins on its body bulged immensely, its other eye locked onto Skyler as its legs darted off the ground, jerking it furiously towards the woman. "That’s more like it." Skyler leaped out of the beast’s way and watched it make a complete U-turn to repeat the same process. With no weapons this time, she had to make good use of her body to kill the beast without hurting herself. Taking a few deep breaths, Skyler remained firm, neither bothered nor shaken by the charging creature before her. As her body slowly relaxed, she felt overwhelmed by a new power. A power different from the crystal energy harvested from the beast’s DNA. Those watching glinted with ecstasy in their eyes, their composure perturbed, for it seemed the woman had finally learned to tap into her Eneraflux energy. Her body emitted a faint orange glow, so faint that it wouldn’t have been seen easily if it weren’t for the night sky of the Granian Planet. Lord Grania grinned with great pride and boasted arrogantly, feeling as though he had managed to accomplish a great thing. To the other Granians, however, they saw this more as a problem. It took them at most the equivalent of three human years of endless toiling, straining, battering, and intense training to be able to tap into their energy, and yet here was Skyler, tapping into hers on her second day of training. This may have seemed like an incredible feat to Lord Grania, but to the others, it was something to worry about. If the human could pick up on something that complex so quickly, it would only be a matter of time until she’d eventually grow to a level where they would not be able to control her anymore. As for Skyler, she was enjoying the rush that came with the continuous flow of energy coursing through her. Her heavy, bulky body felt lighter, her muscles felt lighter and swifter to move, and her senses were all at their highest. Looking at the beast charging at her, she was able to anticipate its moves easily. With this new energy in her, Skyler decided that rather than evading and looking for the perfect spots to attack, she’d use this new energy within her and take it for a test drive. The woman quickly folded her fists, and changed her posture into a defensive one. With one foot planted firmly behind and another in front, Skyler twisted her body a little to the right with her right hand tucked by her right side. Focusing all her energy on her right arm, Skyler waited for the beast to get close enough for her to hit it as hard as she could. The beast lowered its head, ready to knock her over with its long, muscular snout. "HYAAAHHH" Skyler, instead of punching the beast, slammed her fist with great force. The beast’s body was stopped immediately, the front of its muzzle having been cleaned off its head. In the process of being hit, the ground beneath Skyler and the beast shook, creating a dust cloud in the process. Lord Grania and the other Granians watched anxiously, thinking that the beast had gotten a clean hit on Skyler. "Is she...alive?" "Impossible," Grania granted in disbelief. "She just tapped into her energy. There’s no way she..." As the dust settled, the Granians witnessed Skyler standing over the beast with her hand covered elbow-level with blood. In her other hand was the beast’s crystal glowing faintly, and in her mouth was a pound of flesh slowly getting sucked and chewed into her mouth. The woman’s body was bloody, tense, and still glowing with the Eneraflux energy. "WELL, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT, LIZARDS?" Skyler cheered, laughed, and then blacked out immediately, her body landing beside the beast’s dead carcass. The Granians breathed a sigh of relief for their human project had survived. However, there was still an uneasiness hovering over their thoughts, for their ’project’ was learning much faster than expected. While Grim found that factor incredible, the others didn’t think as much. Skyler would not only become hard to control but eventually become stronger than them. However, that was the least of their problems, for up in the mountains was another problem brewing among the Blood Mutants, a mistake caused by their search for forcefully strengthening them.
