Raging Blood Bishop!! Ace Underwood, having obtained more than enough Blood Points to rank up to the Blood Bishop Rank, had gotten the opportunity to finally evolve. Without wasting a single second, he took the chance and evolved in the middle of a fight between himself, his sister, and a couple of Screaming beasts. Amid his evolution, the Blood Mutant had successfully killed the Screamers. However, in the process of doing so, the Mutant ended up losing control of himself and was now pursuing his sister, seeing her the same way he saw the Screamers. A POTENTIAL KILL. Being slightly smaller and not as fast as her older brother, Cherry panicked as she tried to escape from her brother. Lacking the strength he had, Cherry started to fumble and fell from the tall treetops. Before she hit the ground, she luckily latched onto a surprisingly smaller tree branch and swung safely onto the ground. She may have not been as fast in the air, but she certainly was able to gain some distance on the ground. Ace shot a hoard of tendrils at his sister, each one hardened so that they’d pierce easily. The female Blood Mutant ran and swerved in and out of the trees, taking random sharp turns like a gazelle trying to escape a Cheetah. Thankfully, this tactic worked for a moment, and she was able to dodge getting impaled, but she wasn’t out of harm’s way yet. Her pursuing brother dove to the ground, his tendrils propelling him swiftly through the forest. With his hand stretched out, Ace controlled the blood in his sister’s body. Cherry, who was once running at a great pace, suddenly froze in place, every muscle in her body screaming in intense agony. In fear, she tried to throw blood spikes at Ace. Sadly, her hands were immovable just like the rest of her body. Ace folded his fingers and slowly started to drain Cherry’s blood quickly. In less than thirty seconds, the woman had lost almost three gallons of blood, causing her to become anemic and lose strength. Her head spun, her skin grew cold, and the energy she had left wasn’t enough to sustain her Mutant form, involuntarily forcing her to revert to her human form. "LET HER GO!!" Anya shouted while Jim rammed his body into Cherry’s, freeing her from Ace’s control. Anya stood in front of the red Blood Mutant, took in a deep breath, and screamed as loud as she could. Anya’s scream was different from Ace’s and the Screamers in two ways. The Screamers would take time to generate enough wind in their lungs and then forcefully channel that wind through their larynx, thus generating a loud scream. Anya, on the other hand, would simply take in one breath and let out a scream that would not only temporarily deafen her targets but also injure and disorientate them. Also, her scream and roar were different. Unlike Ace who could only roar loudly, Anya could do the same while also screaming separately. Finally, Anya’s screams had little bits of blood spikes in them that would shred pieces of flesh off her victims, and this was currently happening to Ace. For over two whole minutes, Anya screamed loudly at Ace, pushing him back in the process while Jim lifted Cherry on his back and escaped. Once the distance between them was great, Anya shot a couple of blood spikes at Ace, impaling his shoulders and legs so that he wouldn’t move as swiftly as he used to. ’Such terrible power.’ She gasped inwardly before following Jim and Cherry. As she ran, the raging bishop pulled out the spikes angrily and absorbed the blood before resuming the chase. In only a sequence of ten steps, Ace had covered more than a quarter of the distance between himself and the other Blood Mutants, striking fear in their hearts and causing them to doubt their own physical strength and prowess. "Cherry, is that the same thing that happened back on Earth?" Jim asked, having recalled Ace behaving similarly back on Earth. The same way he lost control back then was the same way he lost control now, only this time he was much more feral. "It is," she answered while breathing heavily, her head spinning at this point while her heart worked overtime with the little blood she had left. "He’s evolving...to the Blood...Blood Bishop rank." "Is that the rank the Granians were trying to force him to get into?" Anya asked while looking back at Ace, who was nearly catching up to them, only a matter of minutes until he did so. "It is," Cherry gasped for air and slowly felt her energy returning to her. "The Granians want him to get that rank so that he will turn other creatures into Blood Mutants as well." "They’re also doing that to prepare him for the war!" Jim answered, remembering a conversation he overheard among the Granians. "I overheard some of the Granians say they’d take us to war once Ace evolved to the Blood Bishop rank. If this is just a fraction of what that rank is capable of, then I wouldn’t want to be one of his victims. Follow me!!" Taking a hard right, Jim and Anya slid down a steep slope that led to a thick canopy of trees and bushes below them. At the very bottom of the slope was a cliff leading to a deep canyon flowing with rivers of green water. The rivers acted as waterways for the beasts of the forest to gain their refreshments once in a while. "On my signal," he spoke to Anya, "We’re going to jump into the river, okay!!" "How do you know if it’s deep enough for us to jump into?" "We can’t take chances now. Do you want that to catch us?" Jim looked back and watched as Ace jumped down the steep slope, unlike them who slid their bodies against the sharp rocks and uneven surface. "Jump, NOW!!"
