Sweating and breathing heavily with her body bruised, Skyler stood over the bodies of two of the same scaly creatures Ace was dealing with. Just like the Blood Bishop, the Gifted human struggled with spotting the Scales ones due to their elusive camouflaging abilities. However, as soon as she transformed into her mimicker form, the young woman was able to copy said ability which enabled her to view the creatures and deal with them one at a time. Through incorporating her various beast forms, Skyler put up more than a fight with the Scaled Ones. However, just like how Ace struggled with the Scaled ones, Skyler did the same with more detrimental injuries. One of the creatures took a large bite on her left shoulder, causing her to bleed out abnormally. Another managed to scratch her back four times, leaving large and deep scars. Thankfully, the young woman was blessed with slight regenerative skills that saved her from bleeding out to death, yet the same couldn’t be said about the severity of the wounds left behind. "Just...great..." she sighed heavily while barely standing on her feet. With the great pressure of dizziness overwhelming her body, Skyler found it hard to keep up with the training phases, let alone stay conscious. Her vision started to wax and fade, her breathing became heavier, and her mouth was constantly blessed with the taste of thick iron overstimulating her senses. "...I don’t think...I’ll make it...through these training...phases...." Having admitted defeat, Skyler sat under a rock protrusion that provided her with shade. While sitting, she consumed one of the Scaled one’s bodies to obtain its DNA and replenish her lost strength as she thought on whether to continue with the others or back down. "...this still...won’t be enough for me to...recover in time..." scanning her surroundings one more time, Skyler noticed sets of footprints trailing away from her. The prints had a human-shaped foot with five toes at the end. Some of the prints varied in size, length, and weight, signaling to Skyler that there were Scaled ones ahead of her. "I don’t know how much more of this I can take...." Partially recovered and revived of her lost strength, Skyler got back on her feet and began learning how to use the abilities of the Scaled ones. She figured that if she learned how to properly use their camouflage abilities, it would become much easier for her in battle....or so she thought. ------------------------- Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝓷𝓮𝓽 ’Damn it...it hits harder than it looks..’ surrounded by three more Scaled Ones, Skyler suffered more injuries to her body while battling with how she’d use the camouflaging abilities of said creatures. Given her injuries and ignorance concerning the Scaled Ones, Skyler was now in a dire position that could end up in her death. ’If I don’t get out of here soon, I’ll be as good as dead...’ with her eyes closed, Skyler focused the little strength she had left into her Eneraflux. Since her beast forms weren’t doing anything else other than protecting her, she decided to use whatever trick to emulsify her Eneraflux. *CLICK* *CLICK* *CLICK* With their mouths open, the Scaled Ones circled Skyler while making clicking sounds. Their backs arched, claws sharpened, and teeth ready, they all leaped at the young woman at once with the intention to kill. Suddenly, Skyler’s body burst forth with an orange energy that overwhelmed the Scaled Ones. Soon, her body glowed from head to toe with energy coursing wildly through her veins. Upon noticing this, a smile etched onto her face as she remembered the words Lord Grania spoke to her. ""Most Eneraflux Users Experience Powerful Outbreaks Whenever They Find Themselves In Life Or Death Situations."" ’He was right,’ she chimed with excitement as she turned her attention to the Scaled Ones. ’I can’t be too cocky with this. I don’t know how long it will last or what will become of my body when this energy fades away.’ Wasting no time, Skyler attacked the creatures in her normal form. With no parts of her body transformed, Skyler used her raw strength, boosted with Eneraflux, to deal serious damage to the Scaled Ones. With her fist folded, she dealt a heavy blow to the chest of the first creature she captured. With its body still in her grip, the young woman slammed it on the other that attempted to jump on her from the back. With two Scaled Ones in her hands, Skyler channeled her energy into their bodies and watched the aftereffects. Since her own ’life force’ energy was far greater than the Scaled One’s, their bodies started to tear apart from the inside first. Blood spewed on the ground as the two creatures succumbed to death slowly and painfully. As soon as they were killed, Skyler turned her attention to the third one. As soon as the last Scaled One noticed that Skyler paid attention to it, it attempted to fight with all of its strength. The one scaly, slim creature began to bulge with its muscles increasing to two times their original mass. While the Scaled One was still increasing in size, Skyler leaped a few meters in the air and landed with an elbow to the back of its neck. Not waiting for it to ’strengthen’ itself, she decided to get rid of it immediately while her body still had the energy it had. With her body on top, the young woman transformed her hands into her groundhog form and used the extra weight and muscles to place the Scaled One in a chock hold. The creature, desperately struggling for air, repeatedly scratched Skyler’s forearms in an attempt to escape. With an Eneraflux coating her arms, Skyler wasn’t as affected as the creature had hoped. While it struggled, she increased her grip and pressure on the creature’s neck to the point where its bones started to break. All vital parts in the creature’s neck were ripped apart, starting from its throat to its spine, then to its spinal cord. {Skyler Parkson has completed half of the Goal.} ’Oh? I’m ahead of the others?’ she wondered while consuming parts of the Scaled One. ’I expected Ace to be in the lead, not me....still, it’s refreshing knowing that I’m not struggling as badly as the others.’
