[Time: Equivalent to 3:00 PM] [Location: Entrance to the Granian Tunnels.] [You can now use your Blood Abilities.] Lily, Cherry, and Ace were gathered in the Planet’s largest and busiest city with a population of more than eighty million citizens and refugees of other species seeking refuge and hopes of creating a better life for themselves. With high numbers of civilians came high demands for jobs, education, security, and many other services which were all settled and provided by the Granian leaders. One of those many jobs included hunting. Hunting ranged from personal hunting, beast hunting, game hunting, and bounty hunting, the highest of all the Hunting Jobs. Those who desired to become Bounty Hunters were granted passage to different planets in search of finding their targets. However, earning such a job was no easy task since it demanded large amounts of time, energy, and money to begin only the training process. As stated earlier, the Granian City had a population of eighty million, so it needed ways to ’indirectly’ reduce those numbers quicker. This technique was executed creatively in that Beast Hunters were granted large cash prices and honor rewards which in return taunted the weaker numbers to rush in only to get themselves killed, hence the reason it had large numbers of free-lance hunters. Despite the risks that came with hunting beasts, hundreds applied at the different Hunting posts in hopes of receiving the many prizes that came with being a Hunter. "So even though they know about the risks that come with it, people still join the Beast Hunting groups just to make money?" "Correct, try and keep up," Lily explained to the Blood Mutant siblings while signing them up for the Hunting trip which was set to leave in a few minutes. "It’s a way we handle the high population numbers. We encourage mostly the weak people to apply and when they die, we take whatever possessions they left behind and either auction them, give them out, or use them for the War. It’s a smart and generous option for them." "What’s the non-generous option?" "Execution," Lily’s quick response showed just how heartless the Granians were. According to Ace’s system’s exposition, the Granians were feared across their Galaxy for being cold and heartless and he was getting a glimpse of how heartless they were. "We execute them if they do not meet certain standards." "Why not chase them away?" "They’ll come back or go to our other colonies. We only desire the best of the best. If no one is strong enough to survive here, they’ll be a liability to us and might cost us our way of life," the Granian grew tense while explaining to the Mutants. Her ’human hands’ started reverting to her scaly form while her ’human eyes’ turned green. "We nearly lost this Planet to the Ethisians when they attacked and took hundreds as hostages. Instead of saving them, we decided to let them go, which in return set the standard of strength. Each civilian, whether Granian or non-Granian, must have a certain amount of strength if they want to live amongst us." "Imagine if we had that on Earth!!" Cherry sucked her teeth as she looked at the sorry state in which the city’s population was. Almost everyone lived in fear due to how the strong trampled over the weak. In return, the weak were forced to either grow stronger, an option that was difficult in its own league, or become rich enough to no longer need to go through the strength standards. "Alright, we’re done with the registration. Here is your paper work, identification, clothes, weapons, rations...." "We don’t need those." Cherry replied while flaunting her sharp claws. "You hold onto them. You look like you need those more than we do." "Don’t doubt my strength just yet, Mutant," Lily grinned and led her new hunters to the other group ahead of them. Seeing that they were many, she provided the Mutants with an Ultimatum stating, "We can join the group or go in by ourselves." "What are the risks?" Ace asked. He did find it easier for the three of them to go on their own since being in a group meant hiding his Blood Mutant Abilities. "Well you and your sister are out in public so you’ll have to hide your monster forms from the group. Most people here know of your powers and importance but they don’t know how vicious Blood Mutants look or behave. You might frighten them to death." She explained again with a behavior that sent chills down the siblings’ spines. How could someone talk about the death of their own people as if they were accustomed to it? "Well you could feed off their blood!!" she shrugged and laughed, drawing attention to herself. "I know about your dirty little feeding habits." "You know, we also feed on flesh, especially when its freshly killed," Cherry taunted. "I’ve never tried Granian flesh before. I nominate you to be my first if you keep talking like that." "ATTENTION ALL HUNTERS," an announcement was made, alerting all those ready to head into the tunnels. "THE TUNNELS HAVE BEEN SCANNED AND THE REPORT HAS BEEN SENT. PLEASE USE YOUR VISORS WHEN IN THE TUNNELS TO HELP YOU SPOT OUT THE BEASTS WAITING FOR YOU. IF YOU DIE, WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR IT NO MATTER HOW MUCH ANYONE ELSE AFFILIATED WITH YOU FIGHTS. YOU WILL ENTER FROM THIS END, AND COME OUT FROM THE MANY EXITS SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE TUNNELS. WHATEVER YOU FIND, YOU CAN KEEP AND SELL. THE CHOICE IS YOURS. LET THE HUNT BEGIN." "Alright my blood drinking Hunters," Lily intentionally teased just to see what Ace would do. "Let’s go in and cut some throats. I can’t wait to see you two in action."
