Two High Grades and a High Ruler stood frozen like a dear in headlights with their eyes witnessing beasts transforming into what looked like Blood Mutant subsidiaries. The creatures, built like herbivores with the feet of predators, grew two times larger than their original size as the blood vessels in their bodies popped and released volumes of blood Like a scene from a horror movie, the oozing blood attached itself to the beasts while deforming and reshaping their bodies from simple creatures to mutated horrors of nature. Similar to Blood Mutants, the Blood Beasts, four in total, roared and screeched loudly and then lunged at the Ethisians. As for the three Ethisians, they aimed to defend themselves against the blood beasts before they were killed. All in sync, the three drew their weapons and readied themselves to fight to the death. As soon as the beasts got close enough, their backs released dozens of spikes of blood that shot high in the sky and came falling. Now, the Ethisians were faced with three threats, each one having the potential to kill them more gruesomely than the other. "I’ll deal with the projectiles. Focus on the tendrils!!" Enor announced as his body emitted a powerful surge of Eneraflux that slowed down the course of the projectiles temporarily. Following afterward with great precision, the Ethisian flung himself in the air and broke each projectile, stopping them from touching his High Grades. Back to the High Grades, their weapons were swung with great precision, making quick work of the Blood Tendrils. Slicing them with ease, the Ethisians began to advance toward the beasts, which started to fight back with full force. One beast leaped in the air and swung its red tail at Elenor who sheathed her weapon and grabbed said tail in her hands. Using her might, she pulled the creature back to the ground and started to spin. The female Ethisian’s strength was impeccable, allowing her to spin the beast’s body long enough to catapult it high enough. Once airborne, she followed with her weapon gripped tightly in her hands, followed by a great swing aimed at its neck. Blood from the beast’s severed head and neck poured and sunk into the soil followed by its body falling to the ground lifelessly. Thinking she had killed the beast, Elenor stuck her hand in its mouth to pluck out a tooth for herself as a souvenir, a way for her to brag to her comrades. However, her victory was rudely desecrated on as the beast’s body began moving on its own to the other beasts’. All of a sudden, the dead carcass dissolved itself into a puddle of blood while forcefully attaching itself to one of the three living blood beasts. Horrifyingly, the creature’s body began to swell and change shape; its muscles growing larger, its claws, longer, and its shoulders separated to make room for an extra head. "Dear gods!!" Elenor cursed, her eyes taking in the sight of the beasts fusing into one stronger shape. The once severed head she sliced off was now on another beast’s head with its body adding more strength to its fused counterpart. "Blood Mutants can turn others into mutants?" Commander, dazed momentarily, couldn’t help but keep his eyes fixated on the Humans who watched the fight unfold from a distance. Even though they were far from him, he could feel an intoxicating presence wrapping its dangly claws at his neck with an ungodly fear fogging his thoughts. This feeling brought about sloppiness in the Ethisian’s fighting and eventually led him to suffer a deep cut on the left side of his chest. "COMMANDER!!" Enor screamed at the Ethisian who he desperately wished to save but was already occupied with another beast. "SNAP OUT OF YOUR DAZE, HIGH GRADE. FOCUS!!" The High Grade, brought back to reality by the stinging pain in his chest, grasped his weapon tightly, his body oozing with Eneraflux. Because of this mistake he made, the Ethisian was reminded of how close he was to facing death at the hand of a Blood Mutant, or in this case, the claw of one. With a bit of bravery and a dash of insanity, Commander stared into the white, crescent-shaped eyes of his opponent who came running toward him and shoved his weapon deep into its chest. The beast wailed and groaned in pain with its claws clenching the Ethisian’s body. Thanks to the light set of armor he had, Commander withstood the beast’s claw clenchings and continued shoving his weapon as deep as he could. Using all his might, the Ethisian bellowed and roared while delivering the final shove into the beast’s heart and out its back, killing it almost immediately. However, just like the one Elenor killed, the dead beast’s body deformed into a puddle of blood and swam to the beast Enor managed to fight and kill. He too faced the same dilemma for his beast also dissolved into a blood puddle before quickly creeping toward the two headed beast. "Stand back!!" Elenor shouted a warning while clenching her weapon tight. The female Ethisian already faced the two-headed beast before so she was well aware of how strong it was. However, she wasn’t so sure how she or the others could fair against a four headed creature. "None of us will be able to deal with it. Not in this state!!" "High Ruler," Commander and Elenor stood in front of Enor, both willing to risk their lives for his. "Let us protect you while you make it to the Humans. We’ll handle the beasts. Get to them now!!" "No need for such chivalry," a non-Ethisian voice muttered, one so deep that the Ethisians felt its waves resonating in their bones. "He wouldn’t make it even if he tried." Looking back, the Ethisians laid eyes on the male Blood Mutant. The creature was like your average bodybuilder gifted with the body of a Greek god. Its physique was astoundingly perfect for a Human, almost rivaling that of an Ethisian. "Enor," the man spoke, his eyes glowing a fierce red glow with each word he muttered. "You must have forgotten the pact we made. None of your kind are allowed past the wall." "Blood Mutant," Enor, as might as he was, bowed to the Human out of humility, urging the High Grades to do the same. "Forgive us for intruding into your space but we have urgent matters to discuss." "I’ll repeat this again but this time say it loud enough for you to understand. WE ARE NOT..." "It’s not about your involvement in the War," Enor interrupted and quickly spoke saying, "We need to know everything you know to help us kill a Blood Mutant, one that has the ability to bring the dead back to life."
