"Let the Council begin." The announcement was made and with that, the Yrrejite allied ruler and his companions presented themselves with their research concerning the poison that injured one of the Granian’s Humans. Taking center stage, the Yrrejite was escorted by three guards who carried what looked like orbs. The orbs were placed on the ground and from them emerged holographic screens with graphic images, charts, and diagrams all concerning the poison that was used. "Greetings to you all. Let us begin immediately starting with the poison. As you’ll see in the images, the poison used is a Cytotoxin derived from a species of beast thriving on a series of planets predominantly in the Ethisian side of the Galaxy. The planets are mostly dense with thick atmospheres allowing for wildlife to thrive. They also has vast ecosystems consisting of deep oceans, high mountains, and impenetrable forests where the beasts prefer to live, breed, and thrive. "The beasts are large in size, approximately half the size of this courthouse. You’ll all be interested to know that the weapons that were coated with poison were experimental. My scientists were trying out different methods and combinations until they had gotten to the desirable pattern for our mercenary clones. Adding poison to the tips of their weapons was just a bluff..." "A bluff that? Seriously? It was a mistake?" the Haisojan and Soxan rulers laughed, along with the Yrrejite, Ethisian Council members and both the High Ruler and Empress. "So a mistake is what led to this discovery?" "You’ll be surprised how many mistakes lead to great inventions and successes," the Yrrejite continued. "As to what I was saying. The beast they had experimented on was old and dying which made it easy for the scientists to do away with it quickly. Now, in as much as this news is pleasing to the ear, it comes with a price." The ruler stepped back and let one of his colleagues resume with the presentation, more specifically the lead scientist who made the discovery. "As our ruler said, the beasts are very large and are extremely violent. We only discovered them a few months ago and have yet to know what they’re fully capable of but based on what we’ve seen, they will fight and kill anything that moves, anything that looks at them funny, anything that’s smaller and weaker than they are or even anything as large or larger." "Like a Granian?" the whole courthouse burst into laughter at the crude joke which was rather relatable to everyone present. "You could say that but..." the images on the holographic screen switched to live video recordings of the beasts they were talking about. In the video, about fifty clones were sent into the impenetrable forests to look for one beast and show just how strong they were. As the video continued to play, the courthouse went silent as they witnessed two colossal titans of beasts trampling and dismembering the clones as though they were sticks under the feet of an elephant. Just as the Yrrejite scientist said, the beasts were vicious and unruly, and with their large body frames, they were surprisingly fast and agile. "All the clones were killed in only thirty seconds. We tried this again several times but only succeeded once with a beast that was already wounded and old. Still, our clones had a tough time killing it. They seem to possess a bit more strength when faced with death; a fact that I’ve come to learn from studying the other wildlife species in the Ethisian sector of Akrina." "So tell us, Yrrejite. What does this mean for us?" "Well before I go any further. I would like to give a little presentation to you all." Bursting through the doors came more Yrrejite mercenary clones. In their hands were chains tied to a small, reptilian-like beast violently struggling to free itself. "A small demonstration to show you how strong the Cytotoxin is. In my hands, I hold a small vile containing milligrams of the liquid. I will administer it to the subject and show how potent it is." The Yrrejite scientist drew a sample of the poison into a syringe and quickly administered it to the beast’s right hind leg. The clones immediately let the beast go and watched it attempt to bite the heads off of everyone around. In this lousy attempt, the creature’s bodily movements started to deteriorate. The once vibrant and feral energy the beast displayed began to fade away quickly with its flesh showing the first signs of the poison’s effects. The scales on its right hindleg began to fall off, followed by its muscles tensing, relaxing, and peeling off backward. The once vibrant red, bloody meat hidden under the skin turned rotten-brown, followed by the surrounding bits of the leg bubbling and falling off the bone. The creature began to wail in pain while attempting to bite its leg off. However, by the time it stretched towards it, the cytotoxin had already made its way up to the beast’s spine and ate through its spinal cord, rendering it paralyzed immediately. Once the right left was completely gone, its tail, scaly back, left hindleg and lower midsection began to rot at an alarming rate. The beast slowly lost all of its strength and with no control over its limbs, it breathed its last breath and died with the rest of its flesh rotting until nothing but its skeleton and pieces of moss-brown meat was left behind. "Incredible? This is wonderful." ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹✶𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲✶𝗻𝗲𝘁 "This is terrifying." The Yrrejite was getting mixed signals from the council members with some showing approval of the toxin with others showing their disgust. Putting their opinions aside, the Yrrejite looked toward High Ruler Enor who, like almost everyone else, was more than pleased with the poison’s results. After all, he was the one who asked for more samples of it. "High Ruler Enor," the Yrrejite approached the Ethisian’s throne and bowed while showing the rest of the poison to him, his mate, and everyone else present. "Does this discovery please you?" Enor remained silent and instead moved from his throne to the beast’s carcass. He observed the creature’s body, sniffed it, and even felt the texture of the rotten meat in his fingers, all while having a smile on his face. "This will suffice," he answered and the members in the courthouse applauded for it. "Tell me, how many milligrams can it take to kill a Granian?" "Granians?" the Yrrejite ruler muttered at the Ethisian’s question. "I thought this was for the Humans only. Our weapons can and will kill the Granians so we don’t...." "I have other plans for the Humans," Enor interrupted the Yrrejite promptly and tasked the Yrrejites with even more work for them to carry out. "We need this poison mass produced and put into small pellets that will be effective for battle. You are free to use my resources in whatever way you see fit. In fact, I appoint my two trusted High Grades Elenor and Commander to assist with hunting down these beasts for you. Be as quick as you can and notify me as soon as it is ready. Do you understand?"
