The atmosphere on the ship shifted to one of fear and suspense. Everyone staring at Lord Gravax wondered why the Granian was scared all of a sudden. It didn’t make sense and outright confused most, if not all, of the spectators. Those who just walked in were welcomed by the faces of Granian and Cyclitharan soldiers staring at the Granian Lord oddly. Those who were closer to Gravax looked in the direction of whatever it was he was looking at, wondering and asking what exactly frightened him. Was it the Ethisian ship? The mechanisms? Or an irrational, awkward, traumatic response to...something? Once snapping out of his frantic state, the Granian stood up with his body still trembling. He stared back at those staring at him and then looked back at the ship’s mechanism. Frightened, he carefully approached the ship again, eyes piercing into the mechanism centered at the center. "How?" he whispered as though something were choking him. Those who were close enough to hear changed their expressions from concern to confusion and disgust. Disgust aimed at the Granian Lord, who refused to tell them what it was that scared him "Why’re you overreacting over a small mechanism?" one of the assisting Granians questioned, earning him a stare of disbelief from Gravax. "Are you...can you not...are we looking at the same thing?" Gravax mumbled, his body failing to move closer to the ship. The others stared at each other, wondering what the Granian Lord was so frightened about. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩⁂𝖿𝗂𝗋𝖾⁂𝔫𝔢𝔱 "It would save us much time to explain what you’re so scared about." Another assistant questioned, using her light and soft tone to ease Gravax’s tension. "Not everyone here, including me, knows what’s so frightening about that." Gravax recomposed himself and then faced his assistants. Pointing at the ship’s mechanism, the Granian spoke, saying, "Within that box is something dangerous enough to consume everyone within this ship and everyone else flying around us...." He paused, hoping that everyone listening would catch on. But no one did. Instead, they looked at him as though he were mad, spitting words that no one understood. "...there were rumors of species moving about the galaxy in search of dying giant stars. Those stars were then manipulated using gravitational shears, tools that are tuned to manipulate the gravitational pull of elements like said dying stars. "When those stars are manipulated using several theorized processes, they eventually collapse within themselves and create a black hole....and within that mechanism..." He paused again, his finger stiffly pointing at the Ethisian ship’s mechanism while he trembled. "...is a black hole." Those who now understood the gravity of the situation they were in gasped and took several steps back while the slightly mentally slow individuals still marvelled. Why were they scared of a tiny black hole that was in a tiny see-through box? "Oh wow," Skyler, being one of many that didn’t understand the others’ fear, leaned over and gave the box a thorough look, "there really is a black hole. I thought it was a marble or something. But why does it look like that? I thought black holes had rings of light around them." "Technically, that is a singularity seed," Gravax answered, instantly losing those who were already finding it difficult to keep up, "it’s not exactly a real black hole that was shrunk. It’s a star that underwent extreme processes that eventually caused it to collapse on itself, which created a singularity seed." "Okay," Skyler answered, even though she didn’t understand the situation entirely. "If that’s the case," Cherry asked, also being among the many who didn’t understand the reason behind Gravax’s over-the-top reaction, "why did you say we all need to get this ship away from us as possible?" "Because I do not know the Ethisians were able to contain such a powerful force within a small space. And I fear that if I, or anyone else here, mishandles it, it could spark a chain reaction that causes the singularity seed to become unstable and grow into a real black hole." It now made sense. Everyone now understood why Gravax overreacted and why he was frightened to the core. If what he said was true, that meant they could all be sucked and "spaghettified" at any moment. Suddenly, however, a strange idea sparked in the Granian’s mind. Sure, he was still frightened by the fact that he was in the presence of a baby black hole, but at the same time, he was impressed by how the Ethisians did what was supposedly a "theory". For many years, researchers like him and those before his time shared ideas on how great amounts of energy could be harvested, stored, and used from dying stars all over Akrina and beyond. Such ideas led to theories, and only a handful of brave souls attempted to turn said theories into real experiments. However, every attempt either ended in death for said brave souls or the destruction of hundreds of civilizations. In fact, it was even speculated that the largest black hole at the center of Akrina was the result of a failed experiment. Because of that, laws were passed generations ago forbidding the experimentation of wild theories that involved harvesting energy from heavenly bodies...until now. "I have to give it to the Ethisians," Gravax spoke with amazement in his tone, "they have managed to pull off what millions before us failed to do. Conquering a dying star and harvesting its energy for their own gain is a feat that cannot be overlooked. "With this technology, they are definitely going to win this war, no matter what we do. No amount of weapons, technology, cloned or real soldiers, or even Blood Mutants will top this thing in front of us." All that was said while the Granian stared at the black hole hovering within the transparent box. Envious, Gravax’s mind began decoding and trying to understand just how the Ethisians were able to pull off such an incredibly difficult and taxing feat, moreover under their noses. "All of that yabbering and you still haven’t explained to us how that works." Lord Grania emerged, asking the question that was on almost everyone’s minds. "How will this help the Ethisians win the war, and how can we use it to our advantage?"
