Zenith was taken aback. She had been avoiding even his gaze, so when he charged towards her like that, she didn’t know how to react. She just instinctively scooted away, a little scared of his actions. Especially when she saw just how mad he looked. "What were you suggesting just now?" he asked, his nose flaring. Zenith stared at him, not knowing what he was trying to ask. She was not suggesting; she was telling him she was even ready to resign. Wouldn’t that have been better after what happened? Or did he think that she might cause him more problems after she leaves? Of course, he could think so. After all, she was just a mere employee. He might not trust her fully. Not after she caused him such trouble last night. Assuming his concerns, she tried her best to ease him up. "Sir, I am not just suggesting; I have already decided. I will resign and leave. And I know it must be hard for you to trust me, but I swear on my entire life that I will never appear again in front of you." Ryan’s expression grew tighter. Just when he thought he wouldn’t get to see her again, his blood surged. He couldn’t control his instinct as he leaned forward, hovering over her frame threateningly. "You are planning to not just leave the job or company, but even the city?" Zenith tried to scoot farther away, but this time, Ryan didn’t allow her. His hand sought out to hold her by her shoulder. She tried to dodge it, but he held her firm. "Look up at me and tell me, are you planning to leave the city entirely?" he asked, holding her chin with the other hand and forcing her to meet his gaze. "Because as long as you are here, we might cross the roads." His touch was gentle, but so firm that it confused Zenith to her wits’ end. Zenith looked at him, terrified a little. She never thought of leaving the city. But now, when he mentions it, she feels like he was saying it right. As long as she stays here, they will cross paths. But then, leaving this city, wouldn’t that be a drawback for her? She swallowed, not knowing if that was the right decision to make. But then, she saw the fury in his eyes, and she knew she had no other choice. "Yes, if that helps you trust that I won’t cause you any trouble again. I will leave the job, company and even the city. After what happened last night —" "Nothing. Happened. Last. Night!" That came like a growl, and for a moment, Zenith failed to react. "Did you hear me. I said nothing happened between us the last night." Check latest chapters at 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹✦𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖✦𝓷𝓮𝓽 "Nothing happened?" she repeated, as though asking him to confirm again. And the more he saw the reluctance of her expression for him, the more furious he became. He didn’t know why, but he didn’t like even the thought of her avoiding him. "Nothing happened," he confirmed through his gritted teeth, before letting go of her chin. "I didn’t touch you even when you begged me to. I didn’t lay my hands on you because I knew that was not what I was supposed to do. So, no, nothing happened between us. You can rest assured now." His words pierced Zenith. Especially when he reminded her that it was, she who begged him for it, yet he never responded. For he would never, even in the worst-to-worst situation. "So, now that’s resolved, you can gather yourself and move to get changed. We don’t have the entire day in this hotel room." Ryan’s words came rough and rude, but he didn’t care. He was so raving mad, he didn’t care about anything at that moment. He didn’t know what was infuriating him so much, but there was something that was just not allowing him to be calm. Zenith looked at him before slowly getting out the bed. Walking past him, she tried to find her clothes, but no matter where she looked, she couldn’t find them. Ryan, who had been watching her the entire time, clenched his fingers into fists. "Your clothes are discarded. I ordered someone to get you the new pair." She turned to glance at him, and he gestured for her to look at the table on the side where the bag was kept. "Thank you, Sir. I will —" "You don’t have to," he cut her off. "Whatever happened to you last night ... the company owes you. The simple dress couldn’t be enough of a compensation." Zenith nodded, not saying anything more. She just walked to the table, took the dress and then turned and headed to the bathroom. Once she was gone, Ryan couldn’t restrain himself. He kicked the bed, venting out the fury he was feeling inside. Meanwhile, in Winslow Residence — Morning happened as usual for Aiden and Arwen. Arwen woke up early, and when Aiden opened his eyes, he saw her exiting the closet, already ready and dressed for the day. His brows tugged in a frown as he asked, "You are ready already? Where are you going?" Arwen glanced at him before speaking seriously, "To the east. I need to get some answers from Granna. And it would be better if I did that going there." "Ide, I already made this clear to you yesterday. Nothing is going to stop me from finding this out. I want to know." Aiden got out the bed and walked to her. Holding her by her arms, she shook his head. "I am not stopping you, Moon. I am going to come along with you. It’s just that I am trying to tell you something." "Tell me what?" she asked, not understanding the furrow of concern between his brows. Aiden stared at her; his gaze fixed on hers. "You might not be very prepared to see your Granna right now." Arwen’s frown deepened. "What do you mean?"
