---- I just wanted to placate her and continue enjoying flirting with someone else. It did not have to be with Kiara. It could be with anyone else. I just wanted to have some excitement in my peaceful life. However, Miranda had spoken so self-righteously that I had to school my face and say, "Apologize, Miranda. You crossed the line this time." Miranda looked at me, as though she was looking at a stranger. "So, this is what you meant by having a good talk?" she asked. I did not answer. I just handed Kiara a handkerchief and asked after her. Kiara appeared overwhelmed. She was still saying the same thing as before, but she started getting closer to me. Miranda stood up and left, so I ended up eating ---- with Kiara. When I sent Kiara back home, she seemed to want to say something. But I was thinking about Miranda, so I did not wait for her to speak. Back then, I happily thought that I was just flirting with Kiara. I never really cheated on Miranda, and I still loved her. That night, when I opened the door to our apartment, Miranda was eating meatballs in the dining room. We had made them together before we started giving each other the cold shoulder. I remembered that she had given me twenty points for that in her scoring sheet. Her face was calm, but I could tell from her dispirited look that she had cried. I wanted to comfort her, but she spoke ahead of me. "Let's get a divorce, Henry." I did not agree to it, even though I did feel a little ---- relieved. But I put on an exhausted expression and asked her not to keep acting however she wanted. She just gave me a meaningful look before she left the table. I sat in her chair and finished the remaining meatballs. The next day, I gave her the presents and said some loving words while I asked for forgiveness. I also reassured her that I loved her the most, and she was the only woman I loved. Even so, Miranda still said nothing and even moved out of the master bedroom. Once I realized that Miranda was truly angry with me this time, I started maintaining my distance with Kiara. She seemed eager to have a physical relationship with me, but her greed really turned me off. Three months later, Kiara was transferred away from the headquarters. I bought a bouquet before I went back home and apologized to Miranda again. ---- However, she remained unmoved, and I felt exhausted. When Miranda asked for a divorce again, I said yes. We quickly got a lawyer and drafted our divorce agreement. We also set a date for our divorce. When we left the city hall, I felt an unprecedented sense of relief.
