Chapter 2 Dakota "No, don't," I screamed. We haven't even gotten inside and they were already rummaging through my stuff. And now, they have my diary. "We just needed to make sure you didn't have any harmful item in your bags," Jasper said, as a maid carried my luggage. "What's that?" Logan questioned, grabbing my black diary from Jasper's hand. I didn't want them to go through my diary. I couldn't let them read my secret diary. "Give it back," I yelled, getting closer to Logan and trying to get the diary. Logan raised his hand. "Oops, I'm tall and you're not." Conan chuckled. What was funny? "Give it back, please," I pleaded. "You want it back?" Logan asked, looking empathetic. "Yes," I said, staring at my diary. He let the diary fall to the ground and laughed. "It's all yours, little girl." I crouched down to pick my diary, tears forming in my eyes. This was the only thing I had that made me feel connected to my dad. It belonged to my father until he gave it to me. "Follow us," Conan instructed, stepping on the diary before my hands could get it. I picked my diary and obeyed like a lapdog, as I followed the three tall and annoying step brothers of mine. We got into the grand Packhouse. Nothing like I have ever seen before. Spacious and full of luxury. They took me to a room. It was too feminine for my liking. The room was painted in pink. There were flowers and teddy bears in the room. "This is your room, Dakota," Logan said. "I'm through with arranging your things," a maid informed. "You can leave now, Janet," Conan said, opening the door. Immediately she left, he shut the door. "I hope you like your room. We personally instructed them to decorate it like this," Logan snapped, leaning on the wall. "It's too feminine-" "Oh, yes. Your mom told us you're not girly enough and that you preferred simple things." "So, why did you instruct them to do this?" "To make something clear to you," Logan said, as he began approaching me. Not only was his height intimidating but also his aura. Conan and Jasper followed suit. The three of them approached me looking like trees that were about to fall on me. They were all intimidating. I swallowed hard, as my heart hammered against my chest. "Because your mother got mated to our father, doesn't mean we accept her. She may be the new Luna of this Pack but she'll never replace our mother," Conan said, fiercely. "And you need to understand one thing. You coming to our Pack spells nothing but doom for you, because we are going to make your life a living hell," Jasper threatened. "You'll learn to obey whatever command we give you and you'll never tell dad or your mother about the way we treat you, except you don't love your life." "Lastly, you'll learn to stay away from our business. Do not expect any brotherly love or treatment from us because we do not accept you," Logan warned. If I wasn't careful enough, I'd have peed on my pants. If their plan was to scare me, then it was working. Now, I wish my mother didn't meet her second chance mate. I wished I was still in Silverclaw Academy. I was okay with being bullied and taunted by my bullies. It was something I could handle. But this, I couldn't. My stepbrothers were ready to make me suffer and I dared not tell anyone about it. "I believe we made ourselves clear?" Logan questioned. I nodded. "Yes." "Say, yes brothers," Jasper said, smirking. "Yes, brothers," I said with a low pitched tone. They began to laugh. Immediately, the door clicked open. I quickly turned around and saw my mother. "Dinner is ready, kids," she said with a smile. "Seems like you guys are getting along already." "Yes, we are," they said, placing their arms around me. No, we are not. But, I dared not say it out loud. "Dakota, your father has taken care of everything concerning your new school. You'll be starting school tomorrow," mum informed me. "What school did Alpha Maddox find for me?" "Sweetie, he's your new dad. And he loves you already. Refer to him as dad-" "You say that as though it's an easy thing to do. You are the one that fell in love with him, not me. And besides he's not my real dad. This place sucks, already," a tear rolled down my cheek. "I'm just so unlucky." "What's wrong, baby?" Mom asked, walking closer to me and holding my hands. "I loved your dad but he abandoned us when we needed him the most. It's been ten years and he never showed up. I and Maddox fell in love with each other and thought it would be a nice thing if we had the mating bond for you guys' sake. Now, the four of you have a mom and a dad. Isn't that a nice thing?" I wiped away the tears welling in my eyes. Yes, she was being thoughtful but I was the one who was going to be affected the most by all these. She had found love after ten years and I realized how Alpha Maddox brought back the smile on her face after ten years. I had to put up with everything life was about to throw at me for her sake. "I'm fine, mom. I just need to get used to the new faces," I said, forcing a smile on my face. "Yes, Dakota. We are now your brothers and it is our duty to take very good care of you," Logan said from behind, his lips curling into the most fake smile ever. Mom smiled back at him. "Thank you so much, Logan. You see? Your brothers are the best. They have already accepted you. You should do the same." I chimed in. "Which school did he choose for me?" "Crescent Hollow High, the best high school in the entire werewolf world," mom said with a smile. Crescent Hollow High? I bit my lips. Why? That was the school my step brothers attended. There would definitely be no way to escape from them. I would be bullied every single time by them. "Please ask him to put me in another school. I don't want to go to that school," I cried. Mom's hands gently pressed mine. "I personally wanted the school for you, so your brothers can protect you. I found out you used to be bullied in Silverclaw Academy. I wondered why you never told me about this. I was pissed off. But this time around, I wouldn't let that happen again. Your brothers will protect you." Protect me? Was that another word for bully me? Why did my mom feel like she could trust these bullies? I couldn't argue any more. My fate was sealed. I was going to be attending the same school with my stepbrothers. Oh Moon Goddess, help me. "Alright, I'll be downstairs serving your dad's food. You guys should hurry up and join us," she said, with a smile. I watched as she left, tears all of a sudden rolled down my face. "Wipe those tears off, little sis," Conan said, walking past me and out of the room. "I can't believe that you'll be attending the same school as us. I will feel so embarrassed if anyone found out I was your brother," Jasper complained and left, banging the door. "Once you are done with dinner, make sure to sleep on time. We have no other choice but to drive you to school in our car, daily. Our car leaves by 8. Make sure to be at the foyer in time, except you want to walk to school. The school is far," Logan said, patting my head. I didn't like it. So, I had to also ride with them? This meant my life was going to revolve around them from henceforth. Hell, no! He banged the door after him. I slumped on my bed and began to sob. Why me? I'd always been bullied since I was little. All of a sudden I remembered I was turning 18 in a few days' time. My mate would be able to save me from my stepbrothers. He wouldn't let anyone hurt me ever again. Now, I couldn't wait for my birthday to come, so this bullying would stop once and for all. And perhaps on my 18th birthday, my wolf would finally be set free.
