---- Chapter 7 The crowd started siding with me again upon seeing how I was acting. Joshua was at a loss for words. His expression grew darker with each second. I shot him a quick glance before crying even harder. It wasn't compulsory to register one's marriage. Like many other married couples, Joshua and I didn't have a marriage certificate, but Lynda and Joseph did. I couldn't recall if this had happened in my past life, but I never expected them to be so impatient in this lifetime. It seemed like Joshua and Lynda had registered themselves as a married couple while I was out running errands. It just so happened that Natalie caught them in the act and turned the whole ---- matter into a scene. I waited until everyone had said their piece, then slowly got to my feet. Without saying a single word, I slapped Joshua twice, as hard as I could. I didn't know if he felt the pain, but my hand sure did. It was already numb. I pointed at him and started yelling, "If I knew you were like this, I wouldn't have married you, Joshua! Your brother just died, and you're already hooking up with his wife. How disgusting!" I then sneered, "How could I forget. It was you and Lynda who were supposed to be set up for marriage in the first place. It's no wonder your family is busy scheming instead of mourning for Joseph's death!" Everyone was shocked upon hearing the latest gossip. "What? Is this true?" I happened to find out about this after I died. ---- It turned out Lynda was originally meant to be with Joshua, but he simply didn't measure up to Joseph. Faced with pressure from her family, she chose Joseph instead. Everything started to make sense once I obtained this piece of information. Looking back, Joshua had always been overly concerned with Lynda. I couldn't help but suspect that they had probably gotten involved with each other for way longer. Upon that thought, I angrily spat, "How shameless! The soldier who brought the death benefits said it himself-there's still hope, as long as Joseph's body hasn't been found! "You guys may not care whether he comes back, but to go behind his back and register your marriage, then even try to move away with the death benefits-I get it now. You don't want Joseph to come looking for you, do you?" I wasn't lying. The soldier did say something like
