---- Chapter 5 It was a pity Joseph couldn't see this for himself. But it didn't matter-as long as he came back. Even if he weren't here to see for himself, he'd be able to hear about it from someone else. With that thought in mind, I immediately turned around, ready to expose this family to the villagers. What I didn't see coming was Lynda making the first move. She said, "You must be crazy, Tiffany. This is my husband, Joseph. Joshua is currently out ona business trip. As much as you miss him, you shouldn't be mistaking him for someone else! "Besides, your daughter doesn't know any better. With her father gone, it's only right for her uncle to step in and teach her right from wrong." Lynda spoke with so much conviction. It was as if I ---- were the one being unreasonable. I burst out laughing, ready to call her out without hesitation. But to my surprise, the village elders were all on my side. "Oh, do you take us as idiots? Anyone could tell that he's Joshua, Tiffany's husband. When did he become your husband?" After that, one of the older women turned to me and continued, "I've been saying this all along- your sister-in-law is up to no good! Now you finally see it for yourself, huh?" Their comments were enough to make Lynda's, Joshua's, and Samantha's faces pale. They'd thought that their little act was flawless, but they had no idea that everyone had seen right through them all along. Despite this, Joshua still tried to argue, saying, " You've got it all wrong, madams. I'm Joseph! I finally took some time off to come back to visit my ---- family." Samantha quickly chimed in in agreement. She then shot mea glare and snapped, "Have you been out there running your mouth again? You're really acting out now that Joshua's away. It looks like I need to teach you a lesson today!" Once she was done speaking, she grabbed the broom beside her and tried to hit me. I reacted quickly, picking Natalie up and running to hide behind the village elders. After living under the same roof for two lifetimes, I knew exactly what kind of person Samantha was. She was trying to divert everyone's attention by causing a scene. What she didn't realize was that everyone had already figured out the truth. Samantha grew angrier when she was held back by the others.
