Chapter 14 Emily crumpled to the floor, disbelief and panic clouding her tear-filled eyes. "Harrison... I was just worried about you," she whispered shakily. "Even if you're angry, you can't just hit me... I'm pregnant-with your child." Harrison loomed above her, eyes glinting with contempt, a cruel smirk tugging at his lips. Without a word, he grabbed the stack of printed documents beside him and flung them at her face. "You killed my daughter," he said, each word sharper than the last. "You faked consent, tricked Olivia into signing organ donation papers. You thought I'd never find out?" His voice was ice. "You played me like a fool. Manipulated everything around me-destroyed the two people I loved most. You must be so proud of yourself." He stepped forward and crouched down, lifting her chin with one hand while the other slowly brushed across her cheek. Emily flinched at his touch. His fingers were like ice, his nails dragging across her skin like blades. "N-no, that's not true," she sobbed. "Harrison, please, just listen. I did it because I love you. I just wanted to stay by your side." Her tears streamed freely as she clung to his wrist. I didn't mean for it to turn out this way." "You have every right to be upset, but please don't abandon me and our child." She tried to soften her voice, make it sweet again-like the Emily who once made him smile. But Harrison only sneered. Smack. Another slap echoed in the cold air. "You think you matter just because I let you rise," he spat. "But without me? you're nothing. Not even a shadow." His gaze dropped to her stomach. "And tell me was that pregnancy even real?" The glint in his eyes-cold, violent-sent a shiver down Emily's spine. She finally realized: she'd made a fatal miscalculation. "You... what are you saying?" she whispered, panicked. "You're not seriously thinking- "" "You're about to find out exactly what I mean." Harrison's tone was low. Lethal. "No! Don't hurt me-don't hurt our baby!" she screamed, scrambling backward. With zero warning, he lunged-fisting a chunk of her hair and dragging her like a rag doll toward the surgical wing. "You love contributing to science, right? Let's make sure you leave something behind." He snapped his fingers. Moments later, a group of homeless men and women entered-wearing pristine lab coats, clutching scalpels like toys, eyes gleaming with twisted excitement. "Harrison-what are you doing? You've lost your mind! This is illegal!" "You're volunteering, remember?" he said with a dark chuckle. "You always preached about equality- including the homeless, the elderly. Well, now's your chance to help them learn some real skills." "You're crazy-let me go!" she shrieked. But he forced her to sign a bogus consent form. As the scalpels pierced her flesh, Emily howled-curses flying between guttural screams, her voice ragged and furious. "You're the real monster, Harrison Lowell! You let Lily die-this is your fault, not mine!" - "No wonder Olivia left you! You're a goddamn savage! You don't deserve forgiveness! I curse you may your soul rot in torment!" Harrison didn't flinch. He turned and walked out of the operating room. He had no time for her screams. He had just received word: Olivia had been found.
