---- Chapter 4 Even Brandon turned to Nicholas, disbelief written all over his face. "You burned it just like that?" Nicholas frowned impatiently. "You said we could throw out whatever we wanted. You're her brother, weren't you the one who said it didn't matter?" It was strange. I should've been furious, screaming and lashing out at both of them. Yet, what I felt wasn't rage-it was emptiness. Something inside me had finally broken for good, and I didn't bother listening to them argue over who was more to blame. Instead, I grabbed my suitcase and began packing. Madison watched me with barely hidden anticipation in her eyes, though her voice came out soft and pleading. "Adeline, don't go." She stumbled away from Nicholas' arms, held onto my hand, and dropped to her knees. "It's all my fault. Inever meant to come between anyone. However, ---- everything I owned could now fit into a single suitcase because they'd thrown so much away without even asking. Behind me, Nicholas' voice roared through the house. "Then don't come back! I dare you!" I didn't turn around and just kept walking. The sky was a cloudless expanse, like a quiet promise of good weather after dawn. Ihad one more day before my departure. That night, I returned to campus with my suitcase and stayed in the dorms. The next morning, I hailed a cab to the airport. My phone remained silent-no texts or missed calls. However, I did notice a new social media post from Madison with the caption, "Off to see the world!" The picture was of Brandon, Nicholas, and Madison posing together with bright smiles. I gave it a like and wished them a good trip, then boarded my plane. The plane soared into the sky and finally disappeared
