---- Chapter 7 Callum did not have his usual arrogant attitude. Instead, his voice was full of desperation. "Dad, please take back the engagement. Uncle Jaxon can't marry Moon." Seeing Callum cause a scene and embarrass the Fido family in front of the reporters, Louie quickly stepped in. "Callum's not well. He's not thinking clearly. Get him to a doctor." But Callum would not leave. "Dad, Moon and I have been in love for years! Everyone in Central City knows that. You can't let Uncle Jaxon marry her!" Louie's brow furrowed. He had heard the rumors, and he had noticed how I had acted in the past. He turned to me. "Moon, what do you have to say about this?" I stood up and spoke clearly in front of the whole ---- Fido family and the media. "Callum and I grew up together. I've always seen him as a brother. Maybe some gossip made people misunderstand, but the truth is, I've always liked Jaxon. He's the one I want to marry. "and the person Callum has been dating for years is my sister, Ruby, not me." As soon as I said that, Callum's face twisted in anger. He pointed at me and yelled, "Moon, how could you tell such a lie?! How could you betray me?!" Before I could say anything, Jaxon stepped in front of me. Looking at his broad back, I could not help but remember how, in my past life, he had held my lifeless body and made me feel safe. My eyes started to tear up. Jaxon turned to Callum. "Callum, that's enough. This is a press conference, not the time to cause a ---- scene." Callum's eyes were red with anger as he glared at Jaxon. "Jaxon Fido, you don't get to tell me what todo!" "Callum, you're out of line!" Louie spoke calmly but firmly. "Callum's not well. Get him to the doctor. He can come back once he's better." As Callum was led away by the doctor, he was not giving up. "Moon, you can still tell everyone you love me. If you don't, you'll regret it later!" lignored him and sat down next to Jaxon. Overnight, the rumors in Central City's high society completely changed. People were saying I was only with Jaxon to upset Callum. I did not care about the rumors. I was too busy ---- getting ready for my wedding. While I was happily preparing for it, Jaxon found me. He looked at me for a while, unsure of how to start. I broke the silence first. "We're getting married soon. If there's something on your mind, just say it" He hesitated before speaking up. "Moon, if you don't want to marry me, I can go to Louie and call off the engagement."
