---- Chapter 9 Just like what the maid said, Callum showed up at the front door with bodyguards and piles of gifts. How did he even manage to slip away from the doctor? Before I could say a word, Ruby ran straight to him and threw her arms around him. "Callum, are you here to propose to me? "We can finally be together! I'm so happy!" But Callum shoved her away without hesitation. She was not expecting it and stumbled back. He did not even glance at her. He walked straight over to me, looked at me lovingly, and said, " Moon, I'm here to ask you to marry me. Please, will you be my wife?" He dropped to one knee and held out a ring. All I felt was disgust. When he did not have me, he ---- begged. When he did, he hurt me. There was no way I would fall for that again. 1 looked at him coldly and said, "Callum, aren't you confused? Wasn't it Ruby the one you loved and wanted to marry?" Callum quickly shook his head. "No, Moon. Please, let me explain. You' re the only one I've ever truly loved. No one else even comes close. "T said those things before because I liked you a lot. I was trying to get a reaction from you. I was hoping you would care about me too." He even raised his hand to make a promise. If I had not lived through what happened in my past life, I might have believed him. But I was not that naive girl who only ever loved Callum anymore. He was saying all this not because he loved me, but because he wanted to be the heir of the Fido family. ---- When Ruby heard what Callum said, she completely forgot about being pushed to the ground. She jumped up and rushed over. "Callum, how can you say that? You promised me we'd be together! You said you'd give me a big, beautiful wedding. Did you forget?" But Callum shoved her aside. He was clearly annoyed. "Get out of my face. If it weren't for you, Moon would've chosen me, not Jaxon. I would've been the heir!" Then he showed me something. "Moon, I know Ruby stole your pendant and broke it. I stayed up all night to make a new one that looks exactly the same." One look was enough to tell it was nothing like mine. The quality was off, and even the shape of the pendant was wrong. Thad once shown Callum the pendant and told him the story behind it. It was obvious he had not remembered any of it.
