---- Chapter 376 Lucas stood there with his hands in his pockets , the sunset painting his white shirt orange and gold. There was something curious about his gaze as he looked at Gabriella . "Mom wants you to come over. We're about to have dinner." Gabriella's face turned red as a tomato. She went over and held Lucas' arm. "When did you come over here? You walked so quietly, I didn't hear you at all. You gave mea fright!" "I came over just now." Gabriella watched Lucas' expression carefully. She made sure there wasn't anything off about it before smiling tenderly at him. "Time's passed by so fast, Luke. We're going to get married soon!" she said. They'd be getting married a month after their engagement . All the dates had already been set. Gabriella turned around to look at Alexander and Valeria who'd just come over. "Don't you think Aunt Valeria resembles someone we know, Luke?" Gabriella asked Lucas. "Who?" "Jane Carlson, that deskmate of mine from high school. The overweight one." ---- "Does she?" Lucas asked. He gave no other response beyond that, so Gabriella wasn't sure how to continue pursuing the matter thereafter. Valeria and Alexander went over to the dining room. Sebastian had just happened to return home as well. Valeria sat down beside Sebastian and asked about Lewis' condition. "Grandpa nearly choked on his own spit. But Felix came to his rescue right away, so he's fine now," Sebastian replied. He held Valeria's hand and said, "Don't tell Mom and Dad about this first. Grandpa said to only inform them about it after dinner." "Okay." 45 people sat around the dining table tonight. Leo was seated beside Valeria. She couldn't help but caress his hair. He'd grown tremendously taller and was skinnier now. Leo looked around the table and asked where Selena was. He then held Valeria's hands and started asking her a bunch of questions. Sebastian immediately shot him a cold glance. But Leo was older now, so he wasn't afraid of his Uncle Sebastian anymore. Leo huffed and shoved a piece of chocolate into Valeria's hand. ---- The Grant family didn't usually have many rules when it came to mealtimes. But the Young family members were here tonight, so elders from both families toasted their respects to one another. Everyone else stood up and toasted alongside them, words of praise flying across the table. The house staff then served dinner. Valeria had just started eating when she felt a pair of eyes glaring right at her. She looked up to meet Wendy's gaze from across the table. Valeria recalled what Alexander had said before about talking to Wendy. Yet Valeria felt like the hatred Wendy had for her was at the point of madness. It was a twisted sort of fury that made Valeria feel like Wendy might actually shred her to pieces. Alexander had described to Valeria earlier today about his relationship with Wendy in their university days, about how Wendy had been like a wildcat -beautiful, fiery, and resilient. But Valeria felt like there was no trace of that anymore in the Wendy that was sitting here tonight. The hatred and fury in Wendy seemed to have distorted her entirely. Sebastian stood up and served Valeria a slice of tarte tatin. " Avery made this. Have a taste." Valeria took a bite. The tart was delicate and refreshing , not too sweet at all. ---- "Were you spending time with Alexander earlier today under the gazebo?" "Yes. I took a stroll after you went out to visit Grandpa and happened to bump into Mr. Grant... Imean, Alexander." Valeria was still not used to addressing Alexander by his first name. She truly saw him as a father figure. Sebastian quietly drank some soup. Valeria turned to look at him. "What is it?"
