As He Ao entered the corridor once more, the situation inside was completely different from before. The bright lights hanging at the top of the corridor seemed to be influenced by something, flickering violently, with the entire corridor bathed in alternating light and shadow. The lines that made up the corridor walls were also shaking intensely. At this moment, Super Memory had been activated on his original body’s side, and the cluttered thoughts of Li Cheng and Goya were also being transmitted to He Ao’s mind. They seemed to have been split by the Phantom Shadow within the disrupted space-time. Right now, both of them were under siege by Phantom Shadows in the fragmented space-time. He Ao focused on the quivering lines that formed the corridor’s walls. According to the middle-aged man’s words, the entity that created the Chaos Space had not been replicated by the Relic of the Bygone Days, and the entire Chaos Space was lacking the true creator’s control. Judging from the ability that the Chaos Space was displaying, it seemed to be leaning toward the original design of ’imprisonment’ and lacked killing power. Therefore, the Phantom Shadow could only try to separate the people trapped within the Chaos Space, and the real killing moves would have to be executed by itself. After being split, Li Cheng and Goya seemed to realize there was a problem with the Chaos Space. While fending off the Phantom Shadow’s attacks, they appeared to be unintentionally attacking the space itself, causing the entire space to start trembling. However, this trembling did not affect the structure of the space itself, which meant that just the strength of a few B-levels was not enough to cause actual damage to this space. Pondering, He Ao continued further into the deep corridor. The overall structure of the Chaos Space actually had strong stability and camouflage—seemingly to guard against peeking—its disguised structure appeared no different from normal space. Even under the influence of the Eye of Truth, the lines composing the corridor were hardly distinguishable from the normal conditions outside. But ultimately, the Chaos Space at this moment was not a space laid out by the Angel personally, but rather a poor copy, and this Relic of the Bygone Days had not even replicated the Angel, only the space. Therefore, its ranking should not be high. While He Ao was contemplating, an invisible shadow along with the flickering lights slowly emerged from the wall behind him, holding a longsword similar to He Ao’s and stealthily aimed at He Ao’s lower back. Just as the slender blade was about to reach He Ao’s body, it was effortlessly deflected by an invisible blade’s light. He Ao turned and swung his sword, shattering the Phantom Shadow that had tried to ambush him, and then he looked up at the wall from where the Phantom Shadow had appeared. This section of the wall looked identical to the other walls and at first glance, there was no difference, but the Phantom Shadow had emerged from this wall. That meant this wall likely had some sort of ’passage’ or ’node’ that the Phantom Shadow could traverse. He was very aware that since the Phantom Shadow had sent him out, the nearby space must be sealed, and he couldn’t enter the interior of the research facility through normal means from this corridor. But at the same time, he guessed that the Phantom Shadow would be afraid he would actually come up with something and wouldn’t leave him alone to explore this corridor—there must be a plan to disturb and attack him. So, as he had been moving deeper into the corridor, he had been waiting for the Phantom Shadow to appear, waiting for it to inadvertently reveal that ’node’ which connected the Chaos Space. And as He Ao’s gaze influenced by the Eye of Truth slowly penetrated this ’node’ wall, amongst the twisted lines forming the wall, a ’difference’ began to emerge compared to the adjacent lines. This difference was not structural but a kind of extremely subtle one, in the different vibrational frequencies under the influence of an external force. Even He Ao, who possessed the Eye of Truth, could barely detect these minute differences without careful examination. If it weren’t for an external force hitting the space and causing these lines to vibrate, probably no one would be able to find this node. The distorted space before him was just a crude imitation, so even a slight collision would cause vibration. The real distorted space created by the angel might not be so fragile and might not vibrate so easily, which would make these nodes even harder to find. The angel who designed this distorted space probably took into consideration the defense against the power of the Eye of Truth from the beginning. He Ao withdrew his thoughts, lifted the hilt of the Shadowless Sword, and with the blade pointed forward, his soul descended in a very short time, gathering the power from the Eye of Truth at the tip of the sword. No matter how powerful the original was, what was here was just a counterfeit after all. He did not know the specific way to traverse this distorted space, but he had a more brutal and simple method. The invisible sword tip gently probed forward, touching the position on the wall where the Phantom Shadow had just appeared. What was just a slight tremble, the lines that made up the corridor had remained stable until this moment, when they began to twist and deform rapidly around the spot where He Ao’s sword tip touched, as if they were ice blocks touched by a hot iron. The subtle power of the Eye of Truth actually did not possess much attack power. But during his time in the Bubble Space, He Ao had found that these minute powers had strong ’deciphering’ and ’disruptive’ characteristics. Applied here, they caused the seemingly solid ’barrier’ of the distorted space, which lacked the support of strength, to begin collapsing in on itself. Just like how a red-hot iron would cause the ice to melt and even sublime. The invisible sword tip easily pierced through the wall, and with the entire wall distorting and deforming, a massive ’round hole’ with the sword tip at its center appeared in He Ao’s field of view. Behind this round hole were layers upon layers of ’illusions’ rippling like water waves, these illusions as if in between the real and the unreal, stacked together like soap bubbles, filling the entire round hole. Each ’illusion’ contained a corridor. Some stray Black Shadows flashed through these corridors, and they seemed to have discovered this ’round hole,’ rapidly approaching. He Ao looked up at the corridors among these illusions before he selected the one with the most violently trembling lines and leaped into it in a single bound. The Phantom Shadow merged into the darkness emerged from the pitch-black corridor, holding a thin, black Magic Wand, silently and soundlessly reaching towards the side of the girl in the white dress. A vine suddenly burst from the floor of the corridor, entangling the Phantom Shadow that had come upon her so abruptly. Then, a bit of withering spread from the tip of the vine, decomposing and corrupting the Phantom Shadow along with it. The emerald Magic Wand emitted a pure white orb of light at its tip, casting a feeble glow that lit up the narrow space around the girl and illuminated her pale cheeks. A number of withered vines spread out from under her feet, lying flat on the ground and extending into the surrounding darkness. The light from the Magic Wand was not strong and could only dispel a bit of the darkness. And in the serene darkness ahead, there seemed to be pairs of twisted eyes watching her. It was as if these Black Shadows could never be completely eradicated; killing one only caused more to emerge. The girl took a deep breath, holding the Magic Wand and retreating to the side of the wall before she leaned against the wall and moved deeper into the corridor bit by bit. The surrounding darkness was silent, as if it had truly fallen into a void of stillness, yet it seemed to be brewing something. Everything was so quiet that the only sound in the empty corridor was the girl’s gentle footsteps. The girl slowly moved forward, not knowing how far she had traveled when a vague shape started to appear in the darkness ahead, which faintly resembled a door. She quickened her pace slightly, heading towards that ’door.’ The murky light continued forward, illuminating the pitch-black corridor. Only after drawing very close did the misty ’doorway’ become illuminated by the glow of the Magic Wand before the girl’s eyes. But it wasn’t the corridor’s end she saw, rather it was a structure formed by countless human-shaped shadows twisting together, resembling a ’door’. The moment the girl laid eyes on this ’door of shadows’, a figure perched atop forming the ’lintel’ slowly lifted its head to look at her, then opened its mouth to reveal a grim smile. In that brief moment, even the girl’s heart experienced a slight ’tremble’. And just as the girl’s attention was captured by the scene, the shadowy doorway suddenly disintegrated, instantly transforming into an endless swarm of shadows lunging towards the girl. She snapped back to reality, raising her Magic Wand, and numerous bright green Vines abruptly surged from beneath her feet, entwining towards the Black Shadows in the sky. However, due to her initial ’fright’, her reaction was slightly delayed, and she had gotten too close to the ’doorway’ while inspecting its form, bringing her too near to these ’Black Shadows’. As she lifted her Magic Wand, two Black Shadows had already reached her, and one of them had even reached out to grab her wand, attempting to snatch it away. She clenched her teeth and forcefully wrenched herself free from the shadow’s grip, kicking away the shadow, then swung her wand to knock another approaching Shadow flying. Two vibrant green vines rushed out quickly, wrapping around the two Black Shadows. Meanwhile, the white-haired girl gasped for breath, leaning forward, using her Magic Wand to support her body. Her already pale complexion turned a shade whiter, appearing somewhat exhausted from the recent burst of intense action. Though the Black Shadows were weak in defense, their strength was not to be underestimated; even the weakest B-level possessed B-level strength. The bright green Magic Wand flickered with a brilliant radiance, the invisible power gently flowing up the girl’s arm holding the wand, gradually infusing into her body. The girl’s pallid complexion slowly began to regain some color. The dense swarm of Black Shadows continued to attempt breaking through to the front of the girl, with those green vines persistently extending to block the onslaught of shadows. However, since the battle began with both sides already too close, even though the girl had dispatched the two foremost shadows, the main force of the shadows was now less than half a meter away from her. The girl was intensely focused on these Black Shadows, continuously commanding the vines to entangle them. At that moment, a vague silhouette slowly emerged on the wall behind the girl, eyes fixed on her back, lifting a pitch-black Magic Wand in its hands. And in that very instant, a sudden burst of radiance pierced through the dark hallway. A faint light began to emerge on the opposite wall not far from the girl, then as if melted away by the light, a circular hole formed. The indistinct light and figures emerged from that round opening. What was that? A passageway connecting to the corridor? Upon witnessing this scene, the shadow behind the girl promptly swung the black wand in its hand, its sharp tip instantly stabbing towards the girl’s back. A sharp Invisible Blade riding the murky light in that split second cut through the darkness, piercing the Black Shadow behind the girl, then with a flick of the blade, it shattered the shadow into pieces. At the same moment, He Ao stepped through from the circular opening. He stood within the light, lifted his hand, and the Shadowless Sword left the wall in a flash, joining forces with the green vines to shatter the Black Shadows lurking in the darkness. Goya stared blankly at the young man emerging from the radiance, then suddenly realizing something, she looked back at the fragments of the Black Shadow that had been shattered and were now slowly dissipating. She blinked her eyes, turned back around, and looked towards ’Hao Yi’ who was approaching swiftly, saying earnestly, "Thank you." At that moment, the twisted Black Shadows, under the joint strangulation of the vines and Shadowless Sword, had been crushed. He Ao walked to Goya’s side, gently shaking his head. Then he glanced at Goya’s pale cheeks and asked softly, "How are you feeling?" "It’s not a big issue," Goya, leaning on her crutch, stood up and shook her head. Her snow-white hair danced with the movement, and she reached up to hold it atop her head. "I recover very quickly." He had seen Goya’s recovery speed. He raised his hand, and the Shadowless Sword fell into his grasp. Then he lifted his gaze toward the wall behind Goya, from which a Black Shadow had just emerged. Clearly, these Black Shadows had just deliberately lured Goya here, pretending to attack from the front while sneak attacking from behind. Even though these Black Shadows didn’t seem to possess complete rationality, it didn’t at all prevent them from using tactics and tricks. "What exactly are these things?" At this time, Goya also reacted, her head lowering to the vanishing fragments of Black Shadows on the ground. "In a sense, they could be understood as the ’Evil Spirits’ of some powerful Transcendent?" He Ao lifted the Shadowless Sword in his hand, gently pointing forward, piercing the wall in front of him. Standing beside ’Hao Yi,’ Goya nodded lightly. However, before she could fully digest ’Hao Yi’s’ words, she saw the ’wall’ that Hao Yi’s sword tip touched begin to melt, revealing a blurry ’round hole.’ Goya was a bit stunned. Could this passage be actively opened? How was it opened? She had tried attacking this wall just now, but nothing had happened. She cautiously picked up her magic wand, then mimicked ’Hao Yi’s’ action and prodded the adjacent wall with the bottom of her wand. What she received in return was only a ’thud thud thud—’ hollow sound. "Just some simple tricks," He Ao said offhandedly, his eyes fixed on the ’hall of Illusion’ filled with thunder beyond the round hole, "Let’s go over." Goya turned her head to look at the small pit she had poked in the wall, scratching her head. At this time, He Ao had already stepped forward, jumping into the illusion filled with scattering sparks of electricity. Goya came to her senses, quickly followed suit, and leaped into the illusion. The moment they passed through the Illusion, there was a brief flicker of vision, and after this flickering vision, the first thing to greet the two of them was a violently trembling hall and the thunder that filled the entire hall. And beneath the thunder, surged a tide of Black Human figures like raging waves.
