---- make it past the front door. "Are you done? If so, leave. I've got customers to take care of," I said. I didn't bother hiding the fact that I was kicking him out. Even so, Kendrick didn't budge. Instead, he leaned back with a teasing grin. "Wow! Look at you! You opened a cafe, and now you've got this attitude, huhe" I wasn't in the mood to argue with him. So, I walked away to serve another customer, leaving him to sulk at his table. Soon, he rose to his feet. But before leaving, he tossed me one last comment. He ordered a black coffee and sat there all afternoon, unmoving. Outside, the city lights flickered to life, casting a glow across his profile. He looked worn out and lonely. I walked over, then gently reminded him, "Sir, we're closing soon." Ambrose looked up at me with vacant eyes. "Tali, if I hadn't screwed up back then, do you think we'd be married now? Would we have a kid? " he asked hoarsely. He paused for a moment. His voice was thick with sobs as he added, ''That baby was so small. All these years, I've kept that jar. The more I look at it, the more ashamed I feel." When he finished, he met my gaze expectantly. "Sir, we're closing," I repeated coldly. ''Save the ---- dreams for when you're asleep." Ambrose's eyes dimmed instantly. "Do you still hate me?" I let out a sigh and sat across from him. "No. I don't hate you. I just can't stand you. Please stop bothering me. Every time I see you, I'm reminded that I once trusted the wrong person. And that cost me my dad's life."
