---- Chapter 5 After changing into his tuxedo, Ambrose couldn't shake the unease gnawing at him. The wedding march had already begun, yet I, the bride, was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, a bridesmaid rushed over. Panic was etched across her pale face. "Ambrose, something's wrong! T-Talitha's missing!" His heart skipped a beat as a terrible sense of foreboding washed over him. He immediately pulled out his phone and called me, only to find that my phone was turned off. Worried I might have gone to confront Nellie, Ambrose quickly dialed her number. To his relief, she said she hadn't seen me. It showed him and Nellie wrapped around each other in our bedroom. Gasps rippled through the crowd, followed by a wave of murmurs. Then, laughter erupted. That was when he caught sight of his parents' stunned expressions. In an instant, Ambrose's face turned ashen as panic surged in his chest. Just as he was about to order someone to shut it down, a courier entered the venue with a box in hand. "Delivery for Ambrose Sinclair!" He stood rooted to the spot. Who would send a ---- package at a time like this? Still, he took it with a frown. A beat later, his eyes locked onto the sender's name-Talitha Fanning. Below it was a note. "Inside, you'll find your answer," I had written. Ambrose's heart faltered. With trembling hands, he opened the package. Inside was a glass jar, and floating in it was a dark red mass.
