The radio equipment used by the army is also very technologically advanced. It cannot be large in size, yet it must have more power than civilian radios, cover a larger range, and have strong anti-jamming capabilities. It must also never allow frequencies to be intercepted for eavesdropping on conversations. So things like walkie-talkies might not seem conspicuous, but they really test technological prowess. Gao Yang picked up a walkie-talkie, glanced at it, and said to Nate, "I’ve never seen this model before. How do we test it?" Nate shook his head and said in a deep voice, "I don’t plan to experiment anymore. I could only get six, which doesn’t hold much significance for me." Gao Yang felt a bit frustrated. To experiment with these walkie-talkies, the conditions required are rather complicated. So, the stuff is definitely good, but it’s not something that can be used right away. Nate wasn’t particularly interested in the walkie-talkies, which was normal. He could only get six, and they were of no use to him. Might as well continue using the ones they were already equipped with. Nate picked up a rifle and, after removing the magazine and taking a look, said in a deep voice, "The bullets are quite ordinary." Gao Yang said in a deep voice, "The grenade isn’t ordinary. They have a kind of smoke grenade that emits high-temperature aerosols, making both thermal imaging and Glow Night Vision Devices ineffective. Look, this is it." Gao Yang retrieved a cylindrical smoke grenade from the body and tossed it to Nate. After Nate caught it, he shouted loudly, "I’ll give each of you a few, hold on to them; maybe they’ll come in handy." Nate took a look at it, shook his head, then threw the smoke grenade back to Gao Yang and shouted, "No thanks, there are only a few, it’s meaningless." Nate also bent down to grab a sphere-shaped object from the body, positioned alongside a grenade on the chest. However, this sphere didn’t look like a grenade. "What is this thing?" Gao Yang came over, took the sphere from Nate’s hand, and said with a perplexed expression, "Never seen it before." The sphere was about the size of a golf ball, and its shape was somewhat similar. It had several flat surfaces which seemed to be made of glass, giving it the appearance of being covered with lenses, like a bunch of cameras. "Is this a camera? Something used for observation when thrown? That’s what I think." Gao Yang and Nate were experienced and knowledgeable, but even they couldn’t figure out what the sphere was for. The sphere was weighty, with no markings, so they could only guess. Gao Yang shook his head and said, "I don’t think it’s a camera. See if others have it on them. If everyone has it, it’s probably individual equipment and definitely not a camera. If only a few have it, then it might just be a camera." Several members of Angel checked themselves, and soon someone said, "There are more, not everyone has them, but at least half are equipped with this thing." Sirte came over, curiously said, "Try unscrewing it. Maybe it’s a gas bomb. No, it doesn’t look like a gas bomb. I think it’s a flashlight or a laser emitter, seems to have a lighting device inside. If we open it, we’ll know." Gao Yang handed the sphere over and said irritably, "It looks like it’s all one piece, even though there’s a seam, it can’t be unscrewed, and there’s not even a switch. How do we test it?" Sirte took it, looked at it for a moment, and nodded, "Definitely not an explosive device, you all step aside." Sirte looked around, suddenly shouted, "Attention, I’m about to throw a grenade." After shouting, Sirte swiftly threw the sphere out and then immediately lay down on the ground. Gao Yang hurriedly lay on the ground, and even Nate, who was very concerned with his image and wouldn’t lie down even if rockets were fired from attack aircraft, also lay down quickly; in fact, he did so even faster than Gao Yang. They all lay on the ground, but no sound came. Gao Yang angrily said, "Can Opener! You bastard!" Throwing something without knowing what it is is not a good habit, otherwise Nate wouldn’t have been scared and hit the ground. If he knew what it was, he certainly wouldn’t have hit the ground. Nate said in a deep voice, "Can Opener! Don’t do that again." Sirte pointed, shouted, "Look, it’s a flashlight! No, it’s a light ball for night battle!" After the sphere was thrown out, it waited for a moment, then suddenly burst into a barrel of light. The strong light shone out in all directions and was in strobe mode. After flashing for three seconds, the high-frequency flickering stopped, but the light remained, turning into a very soft glow. Gao Yang stood up, exhaled, and said with a face of indifference, "F**k, it really is a flashlight. When thrown and hit the ground, it triggers a switch and starts lighting up, first flashing to dazzle the enemy’s eyes, then switches to soft light to reveal the enemy’s position without blinding your own eyes. I think that’s it." Nate nodded and said in a deep voice, "That’s right, I think so too. However, I think it’s used for capturing people alive, otherwise, it doesn’t seem all that necessary." Sirte didn’t mind and said, "Americans are like that; they like researching useless and complex stuff when they have money." Gao Yang laughed, "It’s not entirely useless. Mounting a flashlight on a gun makes you an obvious target for enemies without night vision devices, while this thing doesn’t expose your position and can dazzle enemies. But, to develop a grenade-like flashlight for that purpose, tsk, tsk, money solves it all." After waiting for a long time, it turned out to be a specialized-use grenade, or rather a throwable flashlight. Gao Yang was quite disappointed, and Nate stood up from the ground, pointing to a grenade hanging on the body and saying, "What kind of grenade is this?" Gao Yang glanced at it and shouted, "It has a display, which means this grenade is a micro sonic positioning system. It’s a system for launching the locator, they can fire it with a gun, use it as a grenade, or even a rocket. But this has nothing to do with you; you said you don’t want it yourself." Nate shrugged and said, "Okay, I really am not interested in that." Gao Yang felt a little disappointed because the stuff Satan used was already top-notch quality. Therefore, there wasn’t much from Butter Knife that made him excited; there’s no helping it, that’s the downside of having high standards and spoiled tastes. Gao Yang waved his hand and said to Nate, "In indoor combat, they wouldn’t carry too much gear either. I don’t think there’ll be anything new. Here’s the deal, we don’t need their helmet night vision devices, leave me a few sets, and the rest are yours. Then give all these grenades and weird things to me, so you get a good deal." Newest update provided by NoveI(F)ire.net Nate ignored Gao Yang but bent down and curiously said, looking at one of the bodies, "What’s this then?" (To be continued.
