Chapter 22 Luna's Jealousy Oriana stayed cautious, not daring to act rashly or clash with him, only thinking that once they reached a crowded place, she would find a chance to slip away. Grant brought her to a styling boutique. Clearly, they had some kind of partnership-Alaric and the others were all there. Seeing Oriana follow, they were visibly taken aback. "Grant, Oriana-" Grant interrupted. "Oriana is one of the partners. Today's signing ceremony is important; she should attend." The group immediately fell silent. Although they had all contributed to the company, and Grant was the main technical support while Oriana had invested the most, they had no right to object. Still, their expressions were subtle as they glanced toward the fitting rooms. Oriana sensed something and guessed right. Sure enough, Luna emerged from the fitting room in a form-fitting gown of the same brand and color palette as Grant's, radiant and dazzling. "Grant, you're here!" she exclaimed. Luna's face lit up with joy-but the moment she saw Oriana, her delighted, bashful expression froze. "Oriana, what are you doing here?" Grant frowned. "Oriana is a partner. Why shouldn't she be here?" He pointed to the female designer next to Luna. "Design something for Oriana." The designer nodded and approached, asking, "Mr. Holloway, what style should we aim for with this lady?" Grant stated bluntly, "She's my girlfriend." Everyone present glanced at Luna, whose forced smile was on the verge of cracking. The designer led Oriana to the gown section to pick out a dress. Alaric leaned toward Luna, whispering reassurance. "Luna, Grant is loyal and sentimental. These past few days, Oriana's been causing a scene-Grant hasn't even come to the company, Oriana also provided the most critical initial funding for the startup. Grant brought her along out of respect for old ties." Luna's face darkened further. With Oriana here, what Alaric said had nothing to do with her anymore. Today marked a milestone for Aurora's future. The honors Luna had secured for Aurora through her 1/3 have to watch Oriana share the spotlight with Grant. Luna couldn't accept it. Her eyes darkened with malice. "I see. Once you're ready, go ahead with Grant. I'll catch up with Qriana later," Luna said with feigned kindness. "It's Oriana's first time attending such an important event. I just want to make sure she's comfortable." Alaric looked at her with sincere respect. "Luna, you're really generous." After saying goodbye, Luna's gaze followed Alaric and the others as they went after Grant, then she turned toward the makeup room. "Amy, I need a few minutes alone with Oriana. Can you step out?" Luna said, her smile gentle but calculated. "Sure, I'll go prep her makeup. You can talk while I'm gone," Amy replied. Once they left, only the two women remained in the room. Oriana had just received a message from Zara confirming she had her school luggage ready at the airport. Seeing Luna staring intently as she approached, Oriana's eyes flicked. "If you have something to say, just say it." Why are you stubbornly following me? Aren't you supposed to leave today?" Luna asked. Ɔriana clenched her fists. "I don't know what you're talking about." 'Don't play dumb, Oriana. You've known all along. The reason your graduate placement didn't go hrough? Grant intervened, rejected your application, and gave the spot to me." Luna's gentle facade vanished. Her eyes now brimmed with scorn and resentment. She continued, "You know Grant's heart has changed, so you panicked, tried manipulative tricks, threw antrums, and now you want to leave Seabar-all to make Grant pay more attention to you. 'It's useless, Oriana. All that's pointless. You've only been with Grant through the lowest three years of his life, but I gave him my virginity, helped push the company to new heights, and gave him a brighter, more glorious future. If the roles were reversed, who would he choose?" Oriana stared at her expressionlessly. "Why, Luna? Why pretend to be all sisterly with me while scheming to take everything from me?" "Take?" Luna laughed as if she'd heard a joke. "Oriana, do I need to take it? "I'm the Sterling family heiress. You shamelessly took my place for over a decade. Grant is mine too. If we hadn't been switched at birth, you'd never even meet him in this life, and you wouldn't deserve to be by his side." "Take? Everything I gave you, you only have because I let you. You've enjoyed so much benefit and 2/3 happiness-I'm taking it all back now. You owe me everything," Luna screamed in hysteria. Upon seeing the woman before her contorted with rage, Oriana's chest sank. After they regained their true identities, Oriana had even apologized to Luna, though none of this had anything to do with her as a child. €19 20 3/3
