Chapter 30 Terms of Address Oriana gave her a teasing look. "When I get to Jindiwood, I'm going to meet your husband properly, see if he's really as good as you say, to make sure he deserves to be with you." "Sure, I'll introduce you when the time comes," Oriana replied. After a few moments of casual chatting, Oriana said goodnight and began organizing her luggage. With Chubby helping to arrange and tidy, her movements were much more orderly. Having such a lively little helper at home was really nice. After finishing her nightly routine, Oriana lay down in bed. Chubby automatically dimmed the lights, gradually turning them off over time. Oriana closed her bright eyes and drifted quietly to sleep. An hour later, Chubby switched to silent mode and quietly slipped out of the room. It passed through the living room and reached the suite on the other side. The room was dark. Micah, dressed in dark silk pajamas, sat at the edge of the bed. Chubby automatically shut off its screen, the small red dot on its head blinking. "Daddy, I helped Mommy pack her luggage, and she washed up and went to bed." Micah's dark gaze fell on Chubby, a small smile curling at the corner of his lips. "Well done." "Mommy also called Zara, and they talked about you, Daddy," Chubby continued, spilling the details of their conversation like pouring beans. Upon hearing the line, 'We only met today,' Micah lowered his head slightly, the strands of hair across his forehead shadowing his intense eyes. In the darkness, only his low voice emerged. "She really doesn't remember." The next day, Grant woke up early. He hadn't slept well the night before. After soothing Luna, he sat alone against the headboard, staring at the ceiling, a restless unease gnawing at him. Upon thinking back to the events of the day, to Oriana holding a knife and casually admitting she had used it, his heart felt like it was stuffed with heavy cotton, suffocating and impenetrable, He was shocked, angry, and waiting for Oriana to take the initiative and apologize. 1/3 Although he didn't want to admit it, he couldn't help the uneasy frustration gnawing at him. Luna had mentioned that Oriana was upset about the graduate recommendation spot. Grant had been involved in the matter, secretly giving her spot to Luna. Previously, Grant hadn't given it much thought. Oriana was smart; even without the recommendation, she could succeed on her own. Even if she didn't get into graduate school, she'd still be with him for life. Aurora would continue to grow and excel, and he had the means to provide her a lifetime of comfort. She could rely on herself without having to compete with Luna. Moreover, Bramwell had already connected with the professor. Even with the recommendation, Oriana might not have been able to study under Cormac, so the spot was effectively useless. But if Oriana knew he had made her give up the recommendation- The thought made Grant immediately stop himself from dwelling further. He took a deep breath. No, Oriana loved him and depended on him so much. No matter what he did, she would never truly be angry with him. When she used to chase after him, and he was indifferent or even coldly humiliating, she hadn't given up, had she? Besides, Grant had told everyone to keep silent about this matter; Oriana would never find out. "Ugh, Grant, my leg hurts," a voice sounded. An arm draped across his chest. Grant's gaze flickered, and he turned to pull Luna into his arms. He gently patted her back. "It's okay. I'm here." On her first night in Jindiwood, Oriana slept soundly, adapting faster than she had expected. When she opened her eyes, warm sunlight poured in, and the shadows of branches outside the small balcony swayed gently. It took Oriana a minute to process the unfamiliar surroundings. After washing up, she came out of her room. Chubby was charging at its dock. Upon seeing her, it opened its eyes with a small click. "Good morning, Mommy." Oriana froze. That term of address still had a bit of impact on her. She walked over and patted Chubby's head. "Chubby, let's talk." 2/3 -Inished Chubby blinked. "Mommy, what?" "How about we change the name? Don't call me Mommy?" she said. Chubby quickly received the instruction. "Oriana, I'll call you Oriana, just like Zara does. Your name is cute." Oriana's eyes curved in a small smile. "Okay." She glanced at the closed door of the other suite, thinking for a moment, and asked Chubby for information. "Your Daddy isn't up yet, right? What does he usually like for breakfast?" Chubby's big eyes rolled. "I'm charging. I don't think. Oriana, you should ask Daddy. He's awake now." Oriana couldn't help but sigh. What a lazy little robot. She quietly walked toward Micah's suite. Just as she reached the door, she raised her hand, and inside came a voice "You're way too irresponsible. The neighbor's kids are almost in kindergarten, and you've stayed cooped up all day. I introduce you to someone, and you complain they're not good-looking, too fat, or too skinny. When am I ever going to see you get married and have children?" a male voice scolded. 3/3
