At the core of the tenth layer of the Palace of Dark Night, there’s a passage leading directly to the eleventh layer, the Abyss of Dark Stars. The shape of the passage changes constantly; sometimes it resembles a solitary eye swirling the dark clouds, sometimes a fissure in space-time, sometimes it hides starlight with a silent eeriness, but no matter how it transforms, it forever exhales the deepest and most primordial dark messages of the Void. The entrance is guarded by two halls of the Subsidiary Gods and supported by two straight pillars stretching to the sky. From afar, the entrance to the Abyss of Dark Stars seems like a Magic Eye suspended in mid-air, overlooking the entire tenth layer, flowing with shadows that mimic living things, seemingly devouring all light and capturing every move of the Dark Divine Kingdom within sight. Wayne arrived at the entrance to the eleventh layer with the two Subsidiary Gods, unsuccessfully attempting to get close; not only did Baiya and Kaya remain vigilant, but Vizi, usually obedient, also shifted her loyalty away today. "Let’s talk things through, don’t come over." x3 Wayne found it dull and decided to have a proper conversation, learning from Baiya about the general situation of the Dark Divine Kingdom. Firstly, the tenth layer’s Palace of Dark Night is usually much livelier and not as desolate as today; a certain Dark Goddess, who wishes to remain anonymous, suddenly decreed that all dark citizens stay at home, banning all external and social activities. No one is allowed to leave, not even if the sky falls or a Subsidiary God is beaten to death; venturing out is strictly prohibited. This explains why Adventurer Wayne, besides encountering some bandits, didn’t see a soul. Moreover, according to Baiya, Idinis has an impeccable image in the Dark Divine Kingdom: benevolent, just, tolerant, wise, pure... a perfect embodiment matching the stereotype of the Goddess in all believers’ minds. It could be said that Idinis has managed her image well; except for a few, like the two Proxies of the Subsidiary Gods and a few Dream Gods serving near the Goddess, no one understands the true face of the Goddess. The rıghtful source is 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹~𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮~𝚗𝚎𝚝 The knowledgeable dare not speak, and the ignorant are deceived by promotional brochures; the Goddess’s perfect image is as solid as a fortress, unbreakable, and she has yet to experience any loss of followers. Finally, setting aside facts and truths, Idinis has been meticulous in managing her image; she may lack morals, but she strictly restrains her subordinates, resulting in the Dark Divine Kingdom and the Dark Church as Wayne sees it. Moonlight Anastasia needs no introduction; in Wayne’s heart, the Holy Maiden of the Dark Church is a perfect ideal, each time rising into view provides a blasphemous thrill against sanctity. Enthralled, unable to extricate himself. Pope Ivan of the Dark Church, Soskuna, the Subsidiary God reserve, and Dark Knight Vizi may not be as perfect as Anastasia, but they all unwaveringly possess morality and self-restriction; though there are minor selfish flaws, they barely tarnish their virtue, except perhaps their eagerness for improvement. Ivan dotes too much on his daughter, using his power to ensure Anastasia’s smooth ascent to becoming the Holy Maiden of the Dark Church; Soskuna covets the position of Subsidiary God, ambitiously recruiting armies, resorting to underhanded tactics when unable to surpass competitors, sending them to the pure inferno of Hell; Vizi once yearned for stronger Dark Power, knowing her own limited talents, she faked her death to hide, lending the power of the Dark Knight to Soskuna, awaiting his ascension to Demigod to reap rewards. All these were mistakes for which they received Idinis’s training; Ivan and Vizi have become obedient, but as for Soskuna... Considering he tossed the Goddess’s man into Hell, thus spoiling a group of Succubae, Subsidiary God or whatever, is no longer his business. Then there is the current Dark Knight Austin, unruly, of low moral standard, without any faith; for the pleasure of taming and training this Knight, Idinis invited Austin to participate in a dark game called ’pain.’ Eventually, the game could not continue. Austin is handsome, with a son named Wayne, and Idinis mused that she might have to address this Insectoid as father in the future, generously waving it off, allowing this Insectoid Knight’s low moral standard. In summary, from the Dark Divine Kingdom to the Dark Church, everyone except the Goddess herself lacks moral constraints. The Goddess’s excellent image management owes not only to victimizing a small fraction but also to another very important reason. She is genuinely merciful, opening the rift to the eleventh layer of the Abyss of Dark Stars, allowing citizens of the Divine Nation to access the filtered dark messages. The ascent path in the Dark Divine Kingdom has always existed; whoever excels in talent and learning ability can become strong, becoming the third Subsidiary God. Prior to this, Idinis is quite selective; not everyone can arouse her desire to train, with divine grace as vast as the sea, and the glorious image was thus erected. "So that’s the script you two received." Wayne learned from Baiya about the unfortunate script of the two Subsidiary Gods: NPCs, oblivious, join the team after being defeated by an adventurer, and then receive a supporting role script. Before this, neither Baiya nor Kaya knew about the Ring or Wayne’s true identity, truly thinking he was the third Subsidiary God, sharing the burden as new colleagues. Colleague, indeed, he’s here to be the boss lady! Recalling those reckless remarks, Baiya and Kaya couldn’t help but cast reproachful glances at the boss lady who came deceitfully to assault, trapping the old employees badly. In sight, Wayne firmly held Vizi, who struggled mightily, pitifully. The sight before the two Subsidiary Gods blurred; today’s Vizi could be them tomorrow. In the future, not only would they be trained by the boss but also teased by the boss lady, cornered softly.
