---- Chapter 30: A Good Match The very first thing Leo did after waking up was dart into his mom's room and snuggle under her warm, cozy covers - man, it smelled amazing! Clara couldn't help but laugh as his tiny hands tickled her mercilessly. She reached out and tickled his side back, and before they knew it, they were in a full-on tickle fight. Breakfast was a plate of sandwiches Aunt Paige had made ahead of time. Aaron munched while staring at Clara. "You look kinda pale. Did you sleep badly?" Clara touched her face on instinct. "Really? I think I'm okay!" Leo piped up, "Mom's probably upset. You only sleep badly when you're upset." Clara thought about that seriously for a moment. "Hmm... I guess I'm running low on energy. If only a little baby would give me a kiss, ---- maybe I'd be fully charged!" Without missing a beat, Leo grabbed his mom's neck and planted a big kiss on her left cheek. "Fully charged now?" Then he kissed her again, "Super fully charged now?" Haha! Clara burst out laughing and kissed him back. "Okay, now charge my Leo full, too!" Leo grinned from ear to ear and plopped back into his seat. He glanced over at Dad, who was silent, then hopped down and gave him a kiss, "Charge Daddy full too!" Aaron looked genuinely pleased, but Clara felt a little awkward. She quickly buried her face in her sandwich to avoid the moment. After dropping Leo off at kindergarten, they walked out of their complex. Clara was about to start her usual walk to work when Aaron tugged her arm. "Let's take the car today. You look super pale." ---- Clara waved him off. "I'm fine, probably just stayed up late last night." Aaron didn't argue; he opened the car's back door and half-pushed her inside. He climbed in from the other side and told Matt to head straight to Clara's hospital. Clara grumbled under her breath, "It's not even far..." Aaron said seriously, "I want to give you a ride, okay?" Clara was speechless, cheeks heating up. She pretended to stare out at the passing traffic. About ten minutes later, they pulled up to the hospital. Clara thanked him and got out. Aaron didn't leave right away; he watched her walk toward the entrance. Before she made it through the door, she ran into Steven. "Morning, Clara! Did you have breakfast?" "Morning, Mr. Riley! Yep, ate already." Clara ---- paused to greet him and kept moving. Suddenly, a handful of daisies was shoved into her hand. Steven's slightly nervous voice said, "Saw some fresh ones on the way and grabbed them. Thanks again for treating me last time." Before Clara could say anything, he was already striding away. She looked down - a colorful little bouquet of daisies. Thank God, not roses. But it was rush hour, and lots of coworkers had witnessed the whole scene. A few familiar folks from her department started teasing, making "oooh" sounds. Clara felt trapped - tossing the flowers seemed rude, but holding onto them felt weird. So she just briskly headed for the office. Meanwhile, Matt felt the cold blast from the back seat but didn't dare look back. Inside, he was screaming, I didn't see anything, I didn't see anything! I'm just a driving machine... Aaron couldn't see the guy's face clearly from
