Chapter 39 Goof I need to get her to bed soon. "What did your dad say? " I asked knowing she would have talked to him about this. "I have told him yet. I just called you after Bull got me to sit down," she said. I keep myself still but inside I'm yelling for joy. I was her first and only call after she got scared. Silvy turned to me for comfort. "And it seems to be happening once a week. A junkie coming in looking for a fix," she said. It is definitely becoming a problem. I will have to my brother's about this. Maybe Bradford, a friend in the police department, knows anything. you m A thought crossed my mind." Babe, is it possible it spooked you more now because you are pregnant? Before you just had to worry about yourself. Now you have two people to worry about." I asked. Silvy is quiet for a minute before she answers. "I hadn't thought about that. You might be right. I'll be glad when I get back to the ICU. I won't have to deal with shit like this anymore." she said. "I don't want to be scared like that again." she went on. I rub her hip slowly and hold her a little tighter. "I have got you, babe. You are safe now." I told her. "I know, Goof. I'm always safe with you." Silvy yawns. I need to get her to bed soon. I will offer to drive her home shortly. I don't want her driving when she is so tired. I don't want to risk her falling asleep at the wheel. I don't know how long we sit there letting Silvy take the comfort she needs. I will sit here all night if I have to. I feel Silvy's body getting limp and heavy. Then I hear soft snores. I look down and see she has fallen asleep on my shoulder. I chuckle at the sight. I won't move just yet. I want to make sure Silvy is good and asleep before I get up. I will carry her up to my room and we will sleep there tonight. After about five minutes Ace comes over and takes a seat across from us . He sees Silvy sound asleep and shakes his head laughing for s second before he gets serious." She alright?" he asks. " She will be," I said. Then I explained everything that happened tonight to Silvy. Bring it up in the next church. Maybe we can send a prospect over on her shifts to watch over her. I'll check with Bradford." Ace said. "Thanks, brother," I said. "No need to thank me. Silvy is one of us . And looking at you two I'm hoping I get another niece soon." he said. I start to say something but Ace stops me. "I'm not blind. We will talk later. Take her to bed." I nod and carefully stand up. Silvy whimpers but doesn't wake. I carry her through the main room and up the stairs to my room. Grateful I had all my bedding replaced after I messed with my last skank almost two years ago now. Silvy will be the first and only woman on it. Just the way I want it. I hold Silvy close as I open my door. I kick it closed with my foot. I pull back the covers and gently lay Silvy down on the bed. I reach down and take her shoes off. I see her feet are a little swollen and I'm not happy about it. She needs to keep off her feet every chance she gets. I debate about taking her clothes off to make her more comfortable. I settle for just taking off her pants so they aren't so snug on her belly. when I'm done I cover her up. I go back to the door to lock it. I strip off my shoes, socks, kutte and get down to my boxers before climbing in bed with her. I always sleep better with Silvy in my arms. Silvy I noticed two things when I woke up. The first was I was not in my bed. The last thing I remember was sitting on Goof's lap in the clubhouse's main room. I came to him after a rough night at work. He comforted me and made all my worries disappear. while sitting on Goof's lap I felt like everything would be alright. He would be there. I guess I was so comfortable I fell asleep. But where am I and who brought me here? The other thing I noticed was a hand on my stomach and weight on my hip since I was laying on my side. The hand is moving back and forth across my stomach as the baby moves around." Easy little one. Let mommy sleep a little longer," a voice says. Goof. That explains who brought me here. I open my eyes and look around without moving. I don't want Goof to know I'm awake yet. He is still talking to my stomach. " Mommy works too hard and deserves some extra sleep," he says to my stomach. I look around the room while he talks. It is a small room with minimal furnishings. Much like a door room. I can see a dresser and a chair from where I'm laying. I'm sure if I turn over I can see more but it is enough to give me an idea of where I am. I'm pretty sure I am in Goof's room at the clubhouse. Since I have never been here I'm guessing. But I can't think of anywhere else Goof would take me other than home. I turn my head just a bit to see Goof laying on my hip talking to my stomach. If I could get to my phone I would love to take a picture. Goof's hair was pointing in several different directions like he just woke up but he had a huge smile on his face. That was I could see from this angle but it was enough. He looked so happy I wanted to keep that image forever. I was about to say something to Goof when he starts talking again." I know Mommy and I agreed to wait until you are born to find out what you are but if you could give Daddy a hint I would love that. How about one kick if you are a girl and two if you are a boy," he says. I don't feel any movement. Not going to tell me. That's okay. Just know that Daddy loves you no matter what you are. And I'm going to do everything I can to be the best daddy I can be. I'm going to mess up sometimes but I'll have your mommy there to help me. And all your aunts and uncles. You have so many cousins. We can't forget grandpa. We are all excited to meet you." he said. I feel a kick in response. Goof laughs "Let me tell you about your uncles first. They are big, touchy and loud and every last one of them have huge hearts. Don't let them scare you. You will have them wrapped around your little finger in no time."
