“Well, you look like shit.” Theresa’s voice is the first welcome greeting I get as I step into the van. “Now, I’m very much glad I stayed in.” Pat says. I look inside the van for Kate. She’s not here. That’s odd. If she’s not in then she must look worse than I do with all the water sprinklers. I let out a sigh, grinning at Resa. “Anyone got a blanket?” I ask, making my way inside. For original chapters go to N0v3l.Fiɾe.net “Not me.” Pat says, making my gaze shift her way. I mouth a thanks then turn my gaze to Resa. “Honey, it’s a van, we were going for a brunch, not a sleepover.” I am tempted to smack her for that statement but I don’t. My body is freezing. “Remind me to get you back next time, Resa.” I’d sas her so bad with sarcasm that’ll make her eyes wetter than the ocean. Or a horny lady’s pussy. Both are good comparison. “Yeah, I’ll be waiting.” She winks at me, blowing me a kiss. I head to my seat. A soft gasp leaves my mouth as I sit my ass down. I can feel something inside me. I wonder what it is. Killian didn’t really specify what was in that underwear he wore on me. “Sorry for delaying, girls, I had to do some shopping.” Kate pants, hopping inside the van. I eye her from head to toe. She looks dry. Not a hint of wetness is obvious on her body aside from her slightly dampened hair. And she doesn’t look cold too, I’m actually jealous. “Please pass this backwards.” She says to Pat, handing her a shopping bag. Pat takes it from her then leans back over her seat and stretch her hand to me. I take the large gift bag from her and look inside. It’s a blanket. I dip my hand inside top take it out. And some clothes. Finally, something warm. “Thank you, Kate.” I say, slipping my shirt off my body. I will change into this right now, in the van. “I got you.” Kate responds. “You see, Resa? That’s how you take care of a friend in need.” I blurt out, keeping my gaze fixed on Kate. I take my wet shirt off, leaving just my bra on. There are no inner wears in Kate’s gift bag so I won’t be taking off my bra. Thankfully, it’s not soaked. Resa huffs. “I’ll think about that in my next life.” She responds to me. I hear Kate giggle. I take my time to look at her. This is when I realise why she isn’t wet. She’s wearing something different from what she came here with so I’m convinced she already changed into her clothes. I wonder if I’ll PayPal her the bill for this or if it’s okay. I’ll have to ask when we get back from brunch. I wear the dress Kate got me, ensuring it fit right in before taking my skirt off. I feel better already. I fold my wet clothes then dump them into the gift bag and spread the blanket over my body, crossing over both my shoulders from behind, when Kate’s voice catches my attention. “I also have some news.” She says. “Do you guys mind going the rest of the journey with company? Male company.” She has a shaky, uncertain smile on her face. “I’ll be connected to headphones all through.” Pat mentions. “Ditto. It’ll be like no one’s here. I’ll be out of your hair.” Resa says. “Thank you.” I can hear the satisfaction in Kate’s voice, she looks pleased and relieved. That leaves me, I think to myself, clutching the blanket over my chest to meet at the center of my torso. “I don’t mind at all.” I admit. “Thanks girl.” With that, Kate walks out of the van. She comes back in immediately after with two people. The huge frames standing behind her makes my eyes widen. It’s Killian and his brother. They have cars. Why do they need to be in a van with us? My throat feels dry as my head is plagued with emptiness. I have no answer. Killian looks at me with dirty look on his face. After what just went on between us in that enclosed room, I don’t know what to do. Do I pretend that we’re strangers again or not? Somehow, something always comes in the way to make things quite. . . . complicated for me. I can still feel his hands touch my body and grab onto me like I was his. I still remember the taste of his lips on mine during that short moment. It is very vivid in my mind. I swallow. This will surely be a ride to remember
