---- Before I could finish my sentence, Zeke clamped a hand over my mouth to stop me from saying anything more. His eyes were reddened and brimming with tears. Then, I heard his tears drip onto the floor as he cried. If this had happened in the past, I would've wiped away his tears while feeling heartbroken. However, instead of doing that, I stood still and silently watched him as he wept. I couldn't believe that someone like Zeke would cry over me. "I want to head overseas with you, Joanna," he choked out as he stared at me. I knew how much courage it took for him to say something like that. His friends and family were all living here. Additionally, he was doing quite well at his ---- current job, too. Traveling abroad with me meant that he would be leaving everything behind. I turned my head away from him and averted his gaze. I thought I didn't feel anything for him anymore. However, now that it had come to this, my heart still ached. Despite that... I had to turn him down. "I'm sorry, Zeke. Please don't do this," I said with a heavy heart. He walked over and hugged me. His tears were dripping onto my shirt. "T'm willing to give up everything that I have for you. I want to be with you, Joanna. Can you please take me with you?" I was an extremely softhearted person, but I didn't give in this time. I pushed him away. "Let's break up, Zeke. We were never a good match for each other. I'm tired. I'd ---- like to go back to my own life now." Zeke couldn't stop crying. "No-I refuse to break up with you. We can't break up unless I consent to it!" he rasped. I let out a scoff. "You should be thrilled that I want to break up with you. Throughout our relationship, you never wanted me to be a part of your life. You also didn't want me to meddle in your business. From now onward, you're a free man."
