"Hurry, hurry! We have to catch that kid, no matter what!" Han Shanchi urged. After nervously driving over the two logs, Fang Chao mustered all his focus and gunned it, rapidly pursuing Su Xuan’s Charman King. But Su Xuan had left the landslide section a full two minutes before them; catching up was easier said than done. Beads of sweat began to form on Fang Chao’s and Han Shanchi’s foreheads, despite the chill inside the car. Just as Su Xuan reached the foot of the mountain and was about to hit the final stretch of asphalt, he frowned. A herd of several hundred goats was occupying the road ahead, making it completely impossible to advance. "Sir, could you please have your goats move aside?" Su Xuan called out, sticking his head out the window to address the old shepherd. He glanced back. Fang Chao’s car was roaring down the mountain and would catch up in no time. The old shepherd, a mute man from the next village, stood in front of Su Xuan’s car, gesturing wildly with his hands. Su Xuan didn’t understand sign language and had no idea what the old man was trying to say. "Brother Su, let me handle this!" Shi Yazi said, a wide grin on his face. "This is my specialty!" He pushed the door open and got out. Su Xuan expected him to use sign language with the old man, but to his astonishment, Shi Yazi strode confidently toward the flock and began bleating like a goat himself. "My brother might not be great at talking to people," his sister Xiao Yun said, her little face filled with pride as she watched him. "But he’s amazing at talking to animals. He’ll definitely get the flock to clear a path for us!" A few dozen seconds later, however, Shi Yazi returned to the car looking dejected. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩·𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖·𝘯𝘦𝘵 "The lead ram’s mate is giving birth, but it seems to be a difficult labor. It’s not going to be over anytime soon," he relayed the frustratingly amusing news to Su Xuan. "All the other goats are protecting her. The flock absolutely will not move until she’s finished." Su Xuan leaned far out of the window for a better view. Sure enough, a large ewe was lying in the very center of the herd, bleating in pain. It was easy to tell the rams from the ewes; the rams had large, spiraling horns, while the ewes did not. This is getting tricky! Su Xuan looked at the sides of the road. On one side was a deep, four-to-five-meter ditch, and on the other was a steep mountainside. There was no way to go around. "Shi Yazi, what if I honk the horn?" Su Xuan suggested, wondering if the high-powered horn could startle the flock into scattering. "Better not," Shi Yazi said gravely. "That would just anger the lead ram. He might command the flock to attack us!" "Yes, yes!" Xiao Yun chimed in. "Something like that happened back in our Pig Head Gully Village. Someone threw a rock at a ewe while she was giving birth and the other goats rammed him to death!" "That’s terrifying!" Su Xuan immediately moved his hand away from the horn. Alice took a sharp, fearful breath. The mute shepherd, apparently realizing the danger, stood firm in front of Su Xuan’s car, waving his arms to forbid them from moving forward. Just then, Fang Chao’s race car came roaring up, its driver swaggering with confidence. "Hahahaha! Their car is blocked by goats! This is a godsend! As long as I can charge through this flock and get to the asphalt, there’s no way I can lose!" Without even slowing down, Fang Chao aimed straight for the herd. He even shot a provocative middle finger toward the Charman King. Su Xuan is so indecisive. He’ll never achieve greatness! If I kill some goats, I’ll just pay for them! What’s the big deal? His car plowed several meters into the flock, sending five or six goats flying. However, his speed was significantly compromised. No problem. He just stomped on the gas! He pushed forward another four or five meters, about to reach the center of the herd. Suddenly, a large ram with enormous spiral horns reared up on its hind legs and let out an enraged, sky-shaking bellow! The other rams immediately joined in, roaring with fury. Then, all the rams with large horns charged madly at Fang Chao’s car. They were fearless and ferocious. When one was knocked aside, another would charge forward to take its place. The car’s frame shuddered violently as its trajectory began to shift. The rams were intentionally ramming his car toward the deep ditch at the side of the road! "Shit, shit! We’re done for! We’re done for!" Fang Chao paled and frantically wrenched the steering wheel, but it was useless. His car continued to inch toward the deep ditch. "Reverse! Reverse now!" Han Shanchi screamed, realizing the peril they were in. Fang Chao slammed the gas to reverse, but there were just as many goats behind the car. He couldn’t back out! In just a few dozen seconds, the combined force of the goats pushed Fang Chao’s car right into the deep ditch. The rams charged down into the ditch after them, continuing their relentless assault. Desperate cries for help echoed from the four-to-five-meter-deep ravine. "Help! Somebody help us! The goats are trying to kill us!" Their voices were so filled with urgent misery, they sounded as if they’d been dropped into a vat of boiling oil. Su Xuan and Alice stared at each other. It wasn’t just them; the crowd watching the live stream, including Cen Haonan and Heizi, were all completely dumbfounded, too shocked to utter a single word. The next second, Su Xuan and Alice couldn’t help but burst out laughing. "Well, this wasn’t part of my plan," Su Xuan chuckled. "They brought this on themselves," Alice replied. Su Xuan then glanced at Shi Yazi. "Why don’t you go talk some sense into the goats? Give them a hand?" Shi Yazi shook his head. "No way I’m going." "You should go, Brother," his sister, Xiao Yun, urged. "They still owe our Brother Su twenty million. If the goats kill them, we’ll never get the money back." "That’s a good point," Shi Yazi conceded. He got out of the car and walked over to the lead ram, which was standing at the edge of the road peering down into the ditch. A negotiation began. Shi Yazi: "Baa baa baa~" Lead Ram: "Baa~ Baa baa~" Shi Yazi: "Baa baa~ Baa~" Apparently, they struck some kind of deal. The lead ram called back the flock attacking Fang Chao’s car and they returned to their post, guarding the ewe in labor. Shi Yazi went back to the car, grabbed all the fruit they had bought from the farmer, and squeezed through the herd to present it to the lead ram. The ram nudged the fruit with his mouth, pushing it in front of his beloved mate. The ewe, seemingly moved by the gesture, gave one final, mighty push. And just like that, a brand-new lamb was born! "Did that really just happen?!" "That’s freaking insane!" Cries of astonishment erupted from the live broadcast tent. With the crisis averted, Su Xuan squatted down by the roadside and looked at Fang Chao and Han Shanchi, who had just managed to crawl out of their wrecked race car. "Hey! You guys okay?"
