---- Chapter 25 Matthew's smile fell apart. Soon, he could no longer continue smiling. "Jenna, have you really thought this through?" Without waiting for Jenna's reply, he eagerly added, " But all men are the same. Snap out of it! He's only nice to you because he hasn't won your heart yet. Once he gets it, he'll make the same mistake I did..." Jenna looked calmly at him. "So what? I've never given up on love. One failure doesn't mean I'll be depressed and never believe in love again. Maybe I'll marry him, maybe I won't. But whatever the outcome, it has nothing to do with you. Matthew, spare yourself and spare me." Every word struck Matthew's heart like a heavy blow. "spare... her?' Matthew thought as he watched Jenna's mouth open and close. Soon, he suddenly heard a buzz. Intense pain spread from his chest to his whole body. It seemed to turn into countless steel needles, stabbing every inch of his skin. The pain swallowed ---- him in endless darkness. The sounds he could hear softened until they disappeared completely. Eventually, he lost all consciousness. "Doctor! Doctor!" Amanda's screams rang through the ward. Jenna was soon asked to leave the ward. The hallway smelled of disinfectant. The ground had just been mopped and was slippery. Jenna, who was wearing high heels, could only slow down. The nurse and doctor wheeled Matthew past her, along with Amanda's sobs. Jenna subconsciously clutched the strap of her bag, but she walked steadily and never looked back. After coming out of the hospital, Jenna saw Sebastian waiting by the roadside. In the early spring weather, Sebastian wore a black jacket and leaned against a street lamp. Light yellow buds emerged from the dead branches, but the breeze was still cold. ---- Sebastian waited there quietly but kept looking in Jenna's direction from time to time. The moment he saw Jenna, a gentle glow appeared in his eyes. "Jenna." He strode toward her. When the traffic light turned green and the frozen crowd began to move across the zebra crossing, Jenna stood there without moving. She only smiled as she waited there and watched him stride toward her, full of love and sincerity. "Jenna." He finally walked up to her and looked down at her. He seemed nervous, his breathing disorderly. The wind seemed to be too cold, causing his ears to redden slightly. Jenna looked up at him, and she recalled in a trance the first time they met. His face had been covered in mud, but his eyes had been surprisingly bright. No matter then or now, his eyes were always sincere. They were her favorite part of him. "Have you been waiting for a long time?" Jenna asked him with a smile.
