Seeing Dou Dou return, Shen Siyuan was a bit surprised. "They’re all about love here and there, not fun at all," Dou Dou remarked. Then she turned her head towards a Bodhisattva statue nearby, quickly clasped her hands together, and bent down in worship. "Bodhisattva, bless me with great wealth, bless me with a beautiful wife, bless me with a five million lottery win, bless me with excellent health..." "Where did you learn to do that?" "I heard others making such requests to the Bodhisattva when I came over." Dou Dou innocently replied. "Whatever, you go on praying to the Bodhisattva," Shen Siyuan didn’t want to explain further. However, Dou Dou had already stopped bowing and instead swirled up a Yin Wind, sitting cross-legged in the Bodhisattva’s lap, letting the tourists bow to her. Shen Siyuan ignored her and continued to tour the carved Buddhist statues. To ordinary people, these statues may just be exquisite carvings, with only certain artistic value and nothing more. But to Shen Siyuan’s eyes, each statue carries a hint of Zen, or perhaps divinity. It’s unknown whether the original sculptors were highly skilled or sincerely devoted, or whether these statues have been blessed by countless worshipers over the centuries. If this were the Desolate World, the stone cave here would have been brimming with divine phenomena long ago, with Buddhist light illuminating half the sky and sutras echoing across the land. Shen Siyuan is able to perceive this mainly because the cultivation techniques he practices are all related to Buddhism. For instance, what he practices, "Great Arhat Eighteen Forms", is fundamental to Buddhism. Don’t think that just because it’s basic, it’s not profound. Precisely because it is foundational, it is one of the core dharmas of Buddhism. Additionally, what he practices, "Sun Observation Method", if classified within native Buddhism, should belong to the Pure Land Sect, formally known as "Sutra of Infinite Life". The Sun Observation Method is one of the sixteen observation methods within the "Sutra of Infinite Life". Specifically, it is known as the Sun Visualization or Sun Observation, one of the sixteen methods to attain birth in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha. Thus, the divine presence of these statues is quite beneficial to Shen Siyuan. Buddhism believes that the essence of practice lies in enlightenment; enlightenment outweighs arduous cultivation. If enlightened, one possesses; if not, no matter how one cultivates, it is useless. The Ten Thousand Buddha Cave in front of Shen Siyuan is very helpful, bringing him much spiritual inspiration. For this reason, he purposely asked Xiao Yue to take Tang Tang away to play so as not to disturb him. As Shen Siyuan walked along, his aura became increasingly ethereal and harmonious, giving off a warm and gentle feeling, which was due to his Sun Observation Method having both form and spirit. But halfway through his tour, Shen Siyuan stopped. Because he realized that if he continued , he might actually become a monk and save all beings. Luckily, the Ten Thousand Soul Banner is his lifebound treasure, stabilizing his mind; otherwise, he might truly achieve enlightenment and become a great virtuous monk. "Amazing... amazing..." Shen Siyuan murmured. Before discovering the divine nature of the stone cave, Shen Siyuan had intended to travel famous mountains and rivers and visit ancient temples, but now he abandoned the idea. "Ha, I’m amazing, right..." At this moment, someone nearby answered. Looking down, wasn’t it Dou Dou? Who else could it be? "Why don’t you go find Duoduo and them to play? Why follow me?" "Yummy tofu, it’s so comfy behind you." Dou Dou mimicked the Bodhisattva, placing one hand in front of her chest and bowed to Shen Siyuan. Shen Siyuan was a bit shocked to see that this little one actually had a hint of Buddhist nature. When did she get exposed to this? Shen Siyuan’s gaze fell on the flame mark on her forehead. It’s undeniable that although Dou Dou is mischievous, she is very perceptive. She obtained Divine Fire from Tang Tang’s dream and the Lotus Lamp from Yangzhou Netherworld; even these "ordinary" stone carvings, she could perceive the divine nature of the statues. Among the three little ones, Duoduo is actually the smartest — quick to understand and bright upon saying. Dou Dou is the slowest in learning anything, but now it seems this little one has a hidden intelligence beneath her foolishness. As for Tang Tang, she is off the charts and incomparable. Shen Siyuan reached out and patted her little head, praising, "What a clever little one." "Hehe..." Dou Dou’s face showed pride and delight. Looking at her pure-hearted, untarnished demeanor, perhaps it’s precisely because of this that she can perceive the existence of Buddhist divinity. Tang Tang led Dou Dou towards Tang Tang and the three, and from afar, they saw Tang Tang holding her little water bottle, drinking water while Xiao Yue rested her chin on her hand beside her, and Duoduo at the front flower bed searching for something. Upon seeing Shen Siyuan approaching, Tang Tang immediately offered her small water bottle to him for a sip. "I’m not thirsty. You drink it yourself." Shen Siyuan reached out and gently stroked her little head. Upon hearing this, Tang Tang promptly capped her small water bottle, then strapped it on, and patted her little belly, pointing toward a nearby modest shop. "Got it. You rascal, it’s all about eating and drinking." Shen Siyuan chuckled. "And pooping too," Dou Dou whispered beside. Fortunately, Tang Tang couldn’t hear, or she would be ready to pick a fight with Dou Dou again. "Thank you," Shen Siyuan turned to Xiao Yue. Thanking her for taking care of Tang Tang. "It wasn’t a bother, Brother, no need to thank me," Xiao Yue responded. "Do you want to take a walk around? It’s rare to be here." Shen Siyuan said. Xiao Yue shook her head and replied, "I walked around here a whole night yesterday and saw everything." With such a reply, Shen Siyuan didn’t insist and shifted his gaze toward Duoduo coming over. She held some dry leaves, seemingly having found some treasures, beaming with joy. "Look, Brother..." She excitedly lifted her hand. Midway through her sentence, she hesitated. "What’s wrong?" Shen Siyuan asked with a smile. "Something’s different about you," Duoduo said with some doubt. "What is different about me?" Duoduo shook her head. She sensed something was different about Shen Siyuan but couldn’t pinpoint what. Next to her, Tang Tang pointed her finger at the stone cave behind. Shen Siyuan laughed, patted her little head — what a clever little one, no, what a magical little one. Xiao Yue stood beside, somewhat puzzled, observing Shen Siyuan but couldn’t discern any difference. This was not surprising. Shen Siyuan made Xiao Yue the Fan Soul, not because she is special but simply due to her age and mature steadiness. Thus, she manages the mischievous duo, Dou Dou and Duoduo. Later, there came Tang Tang, frequently brawling with Dou Dou; were it not for Xiao Yue, Shen Siyuan might have been overwhelmed. Shen Siyuan turned back to look at the stone cave again. It seemed like countless eyes were observing him. I observe Buddha, Buddha observes me. "Let’s go..." Check latest chapters at 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡⚫𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⚫𝘯𝘦𝘵 With a call, Shen Siyuan took big strides forward. The little ones bounced around him like joyful puppies. The wind seemed to carry echoes of sutras.
