---- Chapter 7 Sarah's POV Ethan hanging around the school gate, "bothering" me, quickly got the media's attention. "Mysterious Man Stalks Elementary School Teacher" started trending on Twitter. The photos showed him looking a mess, kneeling and crying at the school gate. It didn't take long for someone online to recognize him. "Isn't that the famous doctor from Seattle?" "That's Ethan Morgan!" "Oh my god, what happened to him?" Soon, people dug up more dirt: "He misdiagnosed his own son!" "The kid died of pneumonia while he was off celebrating his ex's daughter's birthday!" ---- "How can a guy like that even be a doctor?" The comments online were brutal, almost like they wanted to swallow him whole: "A doctor who saves lives, but couldn't even save his own kid!" "Choosing his old flame and her daughter over his own son? Ina news interview, his eyes all red, he looked at the camera and said: "T hope no other father ever makes the same ---- unforgivable mistake I did." "Tyler, Daddy is so, so sorry." When I saw that news report, I just switched off the TV. Didn't even think twice. I felt nothing. Absolutely nothing. Apologies that come too late don't mean a thing. I looked up and saw Tyler's favorite Transformer toy. Suddenly, I remembered the old Ethan. When he'd forget Tyler's birthday by mistake, he'd buy the most expensive toy. He'd casually promise to play with Tyler next time, but Tyler died waiting for that 'next time.' When he forgot our wedding anniversary, he'd book the fanciest restaurant. He thought spending money could make up for how little he cared about my feelings. But all I got was watching him run off to Isabella.
