Chapter 12 The staff member was simply giving a routine explanation, but to Spencer, those words felt like needles piercing his heart. He clenched his fists, desperately suppressing the shock and sorrow within him, and said in a trembling voice, "Im- possible, this isn't her, I don't believe it." The staff had seen many family members react this way, so he just sighed and turned to leave. Spencer shook his head where he stood, staring at the disfigured corpse, unable to imagine that it could possibly be Hannah. How could the Hannah in his memories have ended up like this? She had been so full of life, so beautiful. After a long time, he collapsed to the ground, clutching the broken bracelet tightly in his hand, as if his soul had left his body. "It's not her, this isn't her." "Hannah isn't dead." When Bethany arrived, what she saw was this lost and devastated figure. Her eyes reddened as she grabbed Spencer, saying, "Spency, you still have me. I'll always be here for you." "Didn't you always hate Hannah? Now that she's gone, we can be together without her getting in the way. Isn't that better?" As soon as she finished speaking, Spencer suddenly grabbed her by the throat in a fit of rage. "Who are you to judge what kind of person Hannah was?" Spencer's eyes were bloodshot, as if he had become a different person, like a madman. He pressed Bethany hard against the wall, gritting his teeth as he said, "Even if Hannah is dead, she's still mine. You have no right to judge her!" "What gives you the right to insult her!" Bethany had never seen Spencer so terrifying before. Her face turned red with pain, and she nearly fainted before he finally let her go. As if she had narrowly escaped death, Bethany gasped for air, looking at him in fear. 0.0 % 09:17 "I'm sorry, I was wrong." "I shouldn't have spoken ill of Hannah, but I was just so worried about you. Spency, will you come home with me? Grandma is really worried about you too." Bethany clung to the corner of Spencer's shirt, crying and begging humbly. At the mention of Hollie, Spencer finally regained a shred of reason and returned to the Ruiz's residence. The whole incident had caused an uproar, and the atmosphere throughout the Ruiz's residence was heavy and oppres- sive. Spencer went to Hannah's room. Tori, who used to take care of Hannah, was packing things with tears streaming down her face. Seeing Hannah's belongings being put away, Spencer became furious: "Who told you to pack these up?" Tori was startled and quickly replied, "It was Madam Ruiz. She said she was afraid you'd be upset if you saw them, so she asked me to put everything away." "Get out!" With a dark expression, Spencer drove Tori out of the room. The room was filled with Hannah's presence. What used to be an irritating atmosphere now made him feel incredibly at ease. It was as if Hannah was still there. But the half-packed desk constantly reminded him that Hannah was gone. Like a walking corpse, Spencer approached the desk and saw three diaries placed on top. He had seen these three diaries before; they were the things Hannah had guarded most closely over the years. He had always been able to touch anything in this room, except for these three diaries-Hannah would never let him read them, not even if she died. Now, the three diaries sat quietly on the desk. With trembling hands, Spencer opened one of them. 52.2 % 09:17
