"Then just drag it out." Hugo Quinn still spoke with that nonchalant tone. The old man felt like he had just punched a pillow, incredibly frustrated, yet he couldn’t find the words to retort. He could only angrily tap his cane. The butler discreetly wiped his sweat on the side, frightened to death by their conversation, fearing the old man might faint at any moment. He even had the pills ready. "Dad, if there’s nothing else, I’ll go ahead and leave. I’ve been really tired these past few days and want to rest early." The old man noticed the dark circles under his eyes, knowing he had barely slept in the past few days helping Evan Yancy. Feeling a bit sympathetic, he was too lazy to argue further. After all, no matter what he said, this person wouldn’t listen. "Go on, then, Hugo. I won’t approve of Eleanor Hollis’s matters. Do not let me see you together in my line of sight; otherwise, I won’t hesitate to take necessary actions." Hugo’s steps halted, recognizing the underlying meaning in the old man’s words: Does that mean they could be as they pleased as long as he didn’t see them? As long as he didn’t see, that was fine. The corners of his mouth curled up; this was the first time the old man had compromised. "Got it. You rest early too." His tone softened a bit. The relationship with the old man had been tense these past few days. At this moment, with each stepping back a little, it was a win-win for both. Only after Hugo left did the old man take a sip of tea, finally relieving the pent-up emotions in his heart. "Master, would you like to rest?" The butler cautiously asked on the side, unsure of his current thoughts. The old man nodded, slowly stood up, and walked towards the upstairs. The butler shook his head slowly, watching his back, and took away the cups on the table. After Hugo left, he was still thinking about the reward promised earlier and decided he must make it happen when he got back. However, as he pushed open the bedroom door, he saw that Eleanor Hollis had already fallen asleep, her eyes tightly shut in sweet slumber. He had hurried back just for the reward, yet here she was, sleeping so comfortably. Hugo felt a surge of frustration rising in his heart, and he reached out to pat her face. "Eleanor Hollis? Get up, where’s the reward we talked about? Did you forget?" Eleanor was exhausted from taking care of Samantha Sullivan these past two days. Sensing someone disturbing her, she furrowed her brow and batted his hand away. She mumbled, then turned over and continued sleeping. Feeling wronged, Hugo forcibly turned her around. "Wake up, Eleanor Hollis, keep your promises!" Eleanor was nearly shaken dizzy, groggily opened her eyes, and only then saw him in front of her, but his face was filled with unsatisfied desire. She rubbed her eyes, finding herself so incredibly sleepy once she hit the bed, despite saying she’d wait for him to return. "Now that you’re back, let’s sleep, I’m tired to death." Eleanor clearly didn’t catch his words, struggling to burrow back into the blanket. Hugo playfully kicked the blanket away, pouncing on her and starting to remove her clothes. Eleanor was now fully awake, staring at him blankly. "What are you doing?" Hugo said through clenched teeth, his hands not pausing at all. Only then did Eleanor remember the reward they had talked about before he left. She laughed and cried, thinking it was already late, wasn’t he tired? "Tomorrow, it’s too late today, and we’re both so tired." Hugo had already taken off her jacket, thinking that tomorrow was for tomorrow, and missing out on today was a loss. With no alternative, Eleanor, also feeling a bit frustrated, pushed him onto the bed. "Fine! Let’s do it! Just don’t cry later!" A woman’s hunger is unimaginable! Hugo was stunned; it almost seemed like she stole his line, feeling a bit weird. But, after a split second delay, he thoroughly enjoyed the beginning. Even though Eleanor put up a tough front initially, she was the first to beg for mercy, her voice hoarse, even tinged with a hint of sobbing, repeatedly uttering sweet words. Yet Hugo paid no mind, repeatedly making her faint several times. Finally, as dawn broke, he lay satisfied, holding her in his arms. Eleanor, now without an ounce of strength, couldn’t even scold him. As soon as he stopped, she passed out. She slept for a long time, only waking up at noon. Yawning, she nearly knelt on the floor when she got out of bed. Remembering everything that happened last night, she cursed Hugo inside and out before tremblingly heading to the bathroom to freshen up. By the time she came out, she felt a bit refreshed, towelled her hair dry, and went outside looking for Hugo. Not in the living room, she went to the yard, still no one, and finally headed to the study. Sure enough, Hugo was in a meeting. These past few days, he had been busy with Evan Yancy’s matters, and a lot of files had piled up at the company. Fresh chapters posted on 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹•𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑒•𝙣𝙚𝙩 Hugo turned to glance at her, quickly instructed the executives, and then turned off the video. "Go downstairs and eat first." He came over, holding Eleanor’s hand, kissing it by his lips. A sweetness flashed through Eleanor’s heart, instantly forgetting his misdeeds from last night, she happily followed him down to have breakfast. "There’s a lot to deal with at the company; these next few days will be busy." Sitting at the dining table, he placed some food on Eleanor’s plate, slowly saying. Eleanor nodded, realizing she hadn’t been to the company for several days. Surely there was a lot of gossip in the top-floor office now. "Don’t worry. I’ve assigned your tasks to Lan Yancy. He’ll handle things before you return, so there won’t be any delays." Feeling warm inside, Eleanor finished her meal and used a napkin to wipe her mouth. "I’ll head to the office this afternoon. I can’t keep slacking off on your salary, after all." Hugo looked up at her. "I can support our household with just my work alone. It doesn’t matter if you go or not. Just do what you like." Yet, you’re pampering me too much. Eleanor retorted in her heart but didn’t say it out loud. Which woman wouldn’t want to be doted upon? She wished this person would spoil her to the skies! After they finished eating, Hugo went back to the study, while Eleanor took a walk around the villa to aid digestion. A faint sound came from the bushes, sounding pitiful. Eleanor stopped, following the noise until she found a kitten inside.
