Chapter 37 Once Naomi got inside she started laughing. It was decorated in a lot of creams and off whites and expensive looking furnishings "Why are you laughing?" asked Theon "I can just tell that whoever decorated this place didn't know a toddler was coming to live here did they?" Naomi asked "Ah no, I had a designer do it a few months ago. Before I knew about Alex." Theon said realising what Naomi meant. All these sparkling clean cushions and stark magnolia walls were doomed. They walked into the kitchen and Naomi let out a happy squeal. It was her dream kitchen, big, rustic, a large wooden island and an aga. She was itching to start making cookies already. Sat on the island was a gift of exquisitely wrapped cholates and a note. Naomi read it her mouth forming an O of surprise "What does it say" asked Theon. "It's from your mother" Naomi replied n a tone of surprise "Seems she wants to welcome me back and has invited us to dinner tonight at the pack house." Theon looked at her questioningly. "Do you want to go?" "Well" said Naomi blowing out a big breath. "you know I am not one for procrastinating and Alex is excited to meet them" She had clearly said the right thing as Theon was beaming. "Let's start unpacking and then we will go" Theon said. Just like that with eight words Naomi's anxiety went from simmering to boiling levels. She was trying not to remember the words and the hateful looks on the faces on Theon's mother and sister's faces the last time she saw them but when she closed her eyes it was a; there in front of her as if it was happening right now. Before she knew it Naomi was stood outside the packhouse fighting the urge to turn and run. Luckily the Alphas residence had its own entrance so she didn't have to face the others yet but she could see them watching her through the windows in the main building. It was doing nothing to settle the butterflies that were stirring up a typhoon in her tummy. Theon gripped her hand and pulled her closer. "Worst case scenario you get to eat a really good meal" he said smiling at her. Whatever it was about Theon that made her feel so calm all the time was some kind of miracle. She wished she could bottle it and sell it to people. Giving a little nod to show she was ready they walked through the front doors together, with Alex nestled in his fathers' arms. They were instantly greeted by a tall, slender serene looking woman with shoulder length grey hair and a slightly shorter, rounder version of her with Theons blonde curls. This was Luna Margot and Marie, Theon's sister. They were both stood with their heads bowed slightly as a sign of submission and respect but instead of being angled towards the Alpha as they should be they were tilted towards Naomi. She was shocked by this display of vulnerability and act of humility from the two women. Not knowing what else to do Naomi spoke quietly. "Please Luna, Marie you don't need to do that." They both looked up at Naomi with unshed tears in their eyes. "Yes we do said Luna Margot "We owe you a thousand sorries and then you come back and you have not only brought joy back in Theon's world but you have given us the unexpected gift of a new life in the family." She tilted her head towards Alex. Both women stepped forward slightly their body language saying they wanted to embrace Naomi but she stiffened at the thought, seeing this they held back. Instead, Luna Margot stepped towards Alex. He was never shy, so he was sat in his fathers' arms waiting for his turn to be said hello to the strange women. "Hello Alex" Margot said tentatively as if he might break if she said the wrong thing "I am your grandmother, and this is your Aunt Marie." Alex instantly leaned forward and put his arms to hug the older lady, "Grandam" he squealed delighted by the idea. He planted a big kiss on her cheek and then her tears began to spill done her cheeks. "Oh no did I do a bad thing?" Alex asked turning to face Theon. Laughing at his adorable concern Naomi responded "No baby, I think you did just what everyone needed" The atmosphere in the hallway already felt a little lighter as everyone began to walk towards the dining room and Naomis butterflies were finally starting to settle the hell down.
