Her disdain came as effortlessly as breathing. It was simply a fact that other beings were fundamentally different, existing on a far lower plane, not even belonging to the same order of life. Throughout the boundless span of her existence, she had slain innumerable Aberrant Spirits, divine beings, and Outer Gods. Her emotions had long since grown numb. The faces and names of the fallen had faded into indistinct shadows. All that remained was a certainty that those standing in her way would be killed. The memories shared between her unawakened self and Pang Jian were a drop in the ocean compared to the vast tapestry of her ancient memories. Those fleeting moments were hardly worth mentioning. This was why she felt no concern for Pang Jian's life. In the past, she had spared Pang Jian only because she intended to use him as a means to achieve her goals, nothing more. However, Pang Jian dared to not only sabotage her plans, but he even attacked her. The frost blade thrust toward the space between Pang Jian's brows, aiming to shatter his frozen sea of consciousness and crush his Divine Persona. The sound of flowing water suddenly echoed through Pang Jian's mind. His open eyes flared with a brilliant multicolored light, a radiant figure emerging within his sea of consciousness. Then, Pang Jian vanished. He teleported straight from the Heaven Ascension Tribulation Pillar on the Fifth Continent to the First Continent, escaping just before death could claim him. His Immortal Divine Soul in the Nether Abyss had broken the seal in his mind. "So, he has another divine soul," Luo Hongyan muttered in surprise. The endless chilling mist disappeared into the frost blade in her hand. Hovering above Eight Trigrams City, she gazed toward the First Continent. "My Lord!" Yan Lie cried in anguish. Luo Hongyan did not turn, but her all-encompassing perception told her everything. The ancient powers from the seven continents still suppressed Yan Lie, allowing the wills of eighteen Demon Gods to continue eroding at him. "The First Continent..." she murmured, rising into the air, leaving Yan Lie behind without hesitation. Space itself seemed to ripple around her as she moved, waves spreading like shimmering light across the surface of a vast sea. She traveled from the Fifth Continent to the First Continent in the span of a breath. Waves of wood energy from the forests of the First Continent surged into her body. The Divine Persona of Life she was forging also drew in scattered traces of unclaimed blood essence. Her divine power rapidly recovered with every passing moment. Although her Divine Persona of Life had yet to be fully formed, the very act of forging it allowed her to draw in energies to heal herself. The energy she expended on elevating Sha Jia, Lie Yang, and Ah Man, as well as in decapitating the Black Dragon King, was being restored at an astonishing pace. "You can dart between continents freely," she said, voice carrying in the wind. "I, lacking a World God Pendant, am not quite as swift. You can teleport across different worlds of the Abyss, making it difficult for me to lock onto your location. "But what of it? In the end, I will complete my Divine Personas using the Fortune of the Abyss. My power will only grow. Killing you will only become easier. The Heaven Ascension Tribulation Pillar on the First Continent emitted a blinding brilliance. Images of suns, moons, stars, flames, and falling meteors appeared on the pillar, filling it with an overwhelming radiance. This light carried weight and could gather into form. The endless brilliance seemed alive as if the rays had eyes and souls, all converging upon Pang Jian. He could scarcely describe what it felt like to be bathed in that radiance, to have it descend upon him, press into him, and pass through him. It was as though he had become part of an ocean of light. He was light itself, a spirit born of light. His entire body lit up. Light saturated his bones, flesh, blood, and even his crystalline Divine Persona. The stars, suns, moons, cold, lightning, flames, fragmented lands, and everything else within his dantian dissolved under the brilliance of that light. They were either already sources of light or they became vessels through which light shone. Pang Jian was so radiant that he became the brightest light source on the First Continent. Even the fiercest sun paled in comparison. Every member of the foreign races across the continents of the Fifth World was drawn to that radiant source of light. They were compelled to gaze upon it, but it was so blinding they were inevitably forced to avert their eyes. "What a powerful light!" Even the foreign races in the Third and Fourth Worlds were stirred by the light coming from below. Their home, the Fifth World, had become brighter than the upper worlds of the Abyss. It was a miracle unlike anything they had ever seen. In the First World, Li Zhaotian miniaturized the Sword Pavilion, letting it float gently in the palm of his hand. Hovering beneath the barrier, he gazed downward, also noticing that blindingly radiant light. "Pang Jian..." Li Zhaotian murmured sorrowfully. The two could communicate and sense each other's presence through Pang Jian's sword token. Pang Jian had warned him that Sha Jia, Lie Yang, and Ah Man had ascended to mid-ranking godhood and were headed for the upper worlds to launch an assault. Li Zhaotian had already informed Li Wang, Zhu Ji, and the other True Gods. Everyone was prepared for a battle to the death. Still, when they thought of facing a high-ranking God and a Sovereign, they could not help but feel that the battle would end in tragedy more than triumph. Pang Jian had remained behind in the Fifth World, holding off Yan Lie alone and stalling Luo Hongyan from leaving. So long as that continued, there was still hope. With Zhu Ji, Li Zhaotian, and the many True Gods at their side, they could likely stand their ground against the three newly risen mid-ranking Gods. However, Pang Jian had already become a blazing source of light. Sovereign Luo of the Celestial Race wielded none other than the Dao of Light as her core Dao. He probably won't last much longer, Li Zhaotian thought bitterly. Through the unique ability he gained after harmonizing with the barrier, Li Zhaotian informed the True Gods, My disciple, Pang Jian, is that radiant light in the Fifth World. I fear he won't last much longer. What?! Li Yuqing exclaimed. The other Pang Jian has already perished in the Nether Abyss. I used his Fortune to ascend. If his physical body in the Abyss dies, then he'll be gone for real! He provoked a Sovereign for a single cluster of Fortune? All for his sister? Gui Mu sneered, tone sharp and biting with fury. Now look what's happened. Three mid-ranking Gods, one high-ranking God, and even a Sovereign. He's forced them all out of the Seventh World! The fact that they've emerged means the battle in the Seventh World has reached its conclusion. What does that have to do with Pang Jian? Li Yuqing snapped back. Enough! Li Wang barked. Prepare to face the three mid-ranking foreign race powerhouses! The heavens favor him. He's the World God of our Abyss. Perhaps he will weather this calamity.
