Chapter 13- Because twinkies are like coming home Crazy . That was the one word that could describe my life at the moment . I am ordinary Sophia Martell , I am everybody's girl next door , you wouldn't think the girl next door's life could take a complete one eighty degree turn , could you ? But life , had funny ways of proving things wrong . I shifted in my bed , struggling to sit up , the pain shooting up my spine making me groan. I fell back against the pillow , breathing slightly harder and tried to push myself up again , but the heavy bandaging around my ribs tightened making me hiss . " Hey , hey , easy there cupcake . " Austin's voice soothed as he entered my room and helped me sit up , settling the pillows behind me . I bit my cheek , trying hard not to swoon . Behave Sophia , you're supposed to feel injured not hormonal . I smiled at Austin's chiseled face , willing my butterflies to calm down as he poured me some water , bringing it to my lips . Now this was the part of crazy that I couldn't believe was happening to me . It's not everyday a billionare who happens to be very handsome comes to live with you , right ? Not to mention a billionare you came to know through a wrong number . Austin had offered to help me relocate my house after the hospital decided that I could be discharged in terms of strict vigilance and bed rest . But hey , this was my house , I had bought it with my years of hardwork , I was proud and attached towards it , I had painted and loved and looked after every inch of it , I was not going to leave my house for some deranged moron . So Austin teamed up with Trish and Alex and decided I was incapable of making sane decisions , so they for some reason turned in charge of my life . In the past few weeks , Trish filed for a restraining order on my behalf . Alex ordered strict security for me and Austin made sure that I was invigilated every second like I was some delinquent . He initially sent a nanny , a nanny and a bodyguard to look after me but I lost my s ** t and ranted to all of them that I wasn't a runaway popstar and that they needed to cut down on the celebrity factor . After realizing that I could actually smack them for caring so much they toned down . Austin sent away the nanny and the body guard and surprise , moved in himself in my humble abode as compared to his mansion to look after me till I fully recovered . I still can't decide if I should be flattered that he cares or be offended and smack him with a rubber glove for barging without notice . Who cares ? I decided to forgive him the minute he cooked for me . You can't complain much when a celebrity chef offers to cook all your meals . That's just rude , isn't it ? " Can't we open the curtains , yet ? " I begged . " No. " Austin sighed as he handed my steaming dinner and , sitting on the edge of my bed forking his own . dinner in his mouth . I sighed too . Crazy thing number two in my life- I had paparazzi outside my house . Apparently I was some mystery girl who stole the hottest bachelor's heart according to media . As much as I'd loved to have a good laugh over the joke , the closed room and the bed rest and the monotony was getting on my nerves . " I'm sorry . " I quirked an eyebrow at Austin snarfing down the heavenly lasagna he had prepared . " What for ? " " For .. all this . I know you love your peace and quiet and that you must be missing all that because of all the drama of the paparazzi and all that because of me . " This boy was nuts . " Are you kidding me ? I should be the one apologizing , having you waste away all your time when you should be out there running your empire and being boss and all , yet you're stuck playing nurse for an awkward woman who can't even sit up . " I spoke with a mouthful of cheese . I would've cared about manners but who am I kidding , this wasn't princess diaries , I could do whatever I wanted . Though I was pretty sure Trish would've been horrified . Austin gave me a small smile at my antics as he took my hand in his which at once sent my heart in a crazy flurry . " You're not wasting my time cupcake . There's no place I'd rather be . " My heart thumped against my ribcage . Why ? I kept that question sealed within my mouth knowing I'd sound stupid if I said it aloud . Let's face it there was a teeny tiny part of me that had a ginormous crush on Austin but I should know better than to fall head over heels in love with a person who was way out of my league . My superb track record should teach me that , besides there were perfect spider monkeys out there that would suit someone perfect as him . " What are you thinking ? " " I was wondering why you'd want to be with me when you could be with a thousand spider monkeys and Victoria secret models rather than spending time with some who doesn't know the first thing about being perfect or normal and for some reason always ends up doing e wrong thing . I don't understand why you'd choose twinkies when you have chocolate soufflés and truffle cakes and macaroons out there . And- " " You're ranting again , cupcake . " Austin chuckled . So much for not sounding stupid . Austin opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by the doorbell . It had to be Trish who was going to drop Marvin off with us for a few days to lighten my mood . He gave me a look that said " We'll continue this later " and walked out . A part of me was relieved and a part of me wanted to know what he wanted to say . " Aunt Sophie ! Look ! " She reprimanded and Marvin's excited face immediately fell . " Oh shush Trish , you're ruining a godmother - godson moment here . " I glared at her . Trish rolled her eyes and turned to Austin . " I'm sorry that you have to look after two babies here ." Austin smiled . " Baby sitting is kind of becoming my specialty . " I fake gasped . " Mr. Richpants don't make throw a glass at your head ." Austin raised his hand in fake surrender . I shook my head and turned my attention back to Marvin . " So , what were you about to show me , champ ? " Marvin showed me his light saber . " I bought this Aunt Sophie , I can use this to beat up all the big bad bullies that hurt you , like a super hero ! " I smiled . Ah , bless him . Marvin and I settled into an animated talk after Trish left after warning both of us to be on out best behavior . Austin made some cookies and popcorn and we all settled on my bed to watch Frozen on the video system . Marvin and I sang a new version of ' Let it go ' and eventually forced Austin to join us . I could finally feel myself feel at place , happy and safe after the entire incident . Marvin fell asleep between me and Austin by the end of the movie . I smiled at his sleeping figure and brushed away a few stray locks of hair away from his face . " I should put him to bed . " Austin offered gathering Marvin's sleeping body in his arms . I nodded , secretly admiring the scene in front of me . I watched Austin carry Marvin to the adjacent guest room with Tango getting up from the floor and following them . Austin's dog Roxy too had joined our little pact and I was pretty sure Tango might be falling a little in love with her . I laid back down and stared at the ceiling of my room , smiling . Things were getting normal , I guess . " You look happy . " I turned my head towards Austin's figure . " I am . " Austin smiled as he placed a fresh jug of water in my bedside table and checked my bandages like he did every night . " Goodnight Mr. Rich pants . " I mumbled , stifling a yawn .
