Chapter 27- This had to be a big cosmic joke . " I knew you'd come back to me , sugar . " One word- delusional . 45 Points I gritted my teeth , feeling my temper flare . I had enough of his stupid s ** t to last me a lifetime and I was tired . " What the hell do you want Ryan ? " He gave me a slow smile that made hairs stand up on my neck as I discreetly scanned around myself to find a suitable weapon for defence , the candle stand seemed perfect . The only glitch ? Ryan was standing right beside it . " Us sugar , I want us back . I don't know why you don't see how perfect we'd be..yet all you do is w *** e around with that dick . " He snapped and I flinched at his tone . His eyes glinted dangerously . No , not again . I felt a creepy sense of déjà vu , I could turn on my heels and run but I was around sand and the shoes which I was wearing would get me nowhere and I knew he would catch up , my best bet was in knocking him out cold or chucking him into the ocean and hope virtual sharks would devour him . I eyed the candlesticks again , they were perfect . I had to lay my hands on them somehow . I walked closer to him , softening my gaze hoping he couldn't see through my façade . I put my hands around his neck and hugged him . " You're right baby . I'm sorry . I should've realized it sooner ." I mumbled into his ear , feeling my stomach churn . I pressed my body closer to his while I inched my fingers behind his back to the candlestand . Ryan stood shocked but only a minute later he grinned against my neck and nuzzled it with his face kissing it lightly . " See ? I knew you'd come back for me if I came after you . Ryan let out a loud scream and unhanded me and without wasting a second I bolted , flinging away my stupid shoes and ran . The sand flew around my legs as I ran like my life depended on it , because god knew my life did depend on it . I couldn't see anything in the dark but all I knew was that I had to run as fast as I could without looking back . I finally crossed the beach and looked behind me and saw no one . My eyes widened with horror as I took in his face , it had blood dripping from one side . I started running again , this time feeling fear pump through my veins . But I was too late now . Ryan's arms grabbed me from behind as he pressed a hand onto my mouth as I screamed . He started dragging me behind the trees . My scream was muffled with his hand , without a thought , I bit down hard on his flesh , metallic taste filled my mouth as Ryan cried out . " You b *** h ! " he cursed trying to free his hand but I had an iron hold on it as I bit down on it harder . I hope I tear away his goddamn flesh . Suddenly a white hot pain stabbed me in the side as I screamed , letting go of his hand and losing my balance . I looked to the side of my waist and screamed again seeing the knife punctured inside me . I saw spots in front my eyes as Ryan pulled out the knife from my flesh . Pain . Red hot . Burning . I felt an involuntary smile creep up my face at her thought . I felt horrible for leaving her alone on the last day of our vacation but I swear if I had a choice , I would've never left her side . I seriously had to make it up to her . I stepped inside the confectionary and purchased the cupcakes and mentally smiled thinking about the reaction Soph would have , that girl loved nothing more than food . A niggling bad feeling crept inside me but I shoved it away dismissing them as my usual pessimist surfacing . Maybe she had gone out with the girls . I called Emma . " She laughed and I heard loud voices and laughter behind her and the phone disconnected . I glared at phone , mad at my sister's aloofness . I headed back out of the suite and to the resort club . Soph had to be there with the rest of the girls . I walked into the loud thumping music inside the club and mentally wondered if I had to punch the daylights out of some i *** t's face if he was hovering around my cupcake . I spotted the girls together laughing and talking at the bar . My eyes scanned for Sophia but I couldn't see her anywhere . I tapped Trish's shoulder . She turned around to look at me and eyed me surprised . ' What are you doing here ? Weren't you supposed to be- " I nodded . " Yeah I was out because of work but I just returned and do you have any idea where cupcake is ? " Trish stared at me in confusion . " What ? Shouldn't you be supposed to know that ? I opened it , it could be Soph but I frowned as I saw it was an unknown number . It had sent me a video . I was about to dismiss it as a wrong number when a message flashed in the chat box . Looks like she isn't yours anymore , " Mr. Rich Pants " . I felt my heart stop cold at the words as I clicked on the video . This had to be big cosmic joke . Cupcake was lying in dim room on the bare floor , her mouth gagged and her hands and legs tied but what was the most disconcerting thing was that she was lying in a small pool of blood around her waist . My hands clenched . No. My eyes filled up as I gritted my teeth feeling rage course through every fibre inside me . A thousand emotions ran through me at once- confusion , fear , anger , helplessness . Ryan's face filled up the screen as he smiled at me mockingly . " Sorry pal but I had to teach you that it's not nice to steal people's leftovers . But that's okay , you have a lot of money , don't you ? You can buy yourself another w *** e to f ** k . You just lost this one . " He smiled at the camera and leaned down to place a kiss on Soph's unconscious figure's lips .
