Today is another pack opening day. Or maybe I should say set completion day. Because I feel like completing a set before I leave for my trip to the Empire. And today we are completing . And as always, it starts with 200 packs. And then what I don’t get, I’ll get with Capsules. Future Glow (Common) x30 Cracking (Common) x27 Explosive Urchin (Common) x28 Tyrant's Tummyache (Common) x31 Burgeoning Whirlflame (Common) x29 Phantom Magician (Common) x25 Skull Kraken (Common) x38 Geargiano (Common) x34 Spearfish Soldier (Common) x27 Laval Magma Cannoneer (Common) x32 Crashbug Z (Common) x29 Perditious Puppeteer (Common) x37 Gem-Elephant (Common) x43 Wind-Up Soldier (Common) x36 Poki Draco (Common) x25 Milla the Temporal Magician (Common) x35 Drill Barnacle (Common) x26 Goblindbergh (Common) x38 Gusto Codor (Common) x30 Wind-Up Dog (Common) x29 Achacha Archer (Common) x31 Master of the Flaming Dragonswords (Common) x36 The Great Emperor Penguin (Common) x31 Gogogo Golem (Common) x21 Elemental HERO Flash (Common) x39 Crashbug Y (Common) x32 Crashbug X (Common) x32 Saambell the Summoner (Common) x31 Vylon Filament (Common) x33 Peeking Goblin (Common) x40 Thunder Short (Common) x39 Aqua Jet (Common) x31 Fish and Kicks (Common) x34 Oni-Gami Combo (Common) x32 Overwind (Common) x36 Damage Vaccine Omega MAX (Common) x31 Treaty on Uniform Nomenclature (Common) x27 Utopian Aura (Common) x37 Underworld Egg Clutch (Common) x29 Poseidon Wave (Common) x24 Past Image (Common) x36 Gravelstorm (Common) x21 Asleep at the Switch (Common) x30 Double or Nothing! That is probably a record or something. And I’ve opened 40 packs of Generation Force, which while less than the usual 50, is still a good number of packs. So the fact that I got that many cards just shows how bad of luck I’ve been having with this set. And for further proof look no further than Legendary Wind-Up Key. It is a common that I somehow didn’t have yet. But I do now. And it kind of sucks. It just turns all of your Wind-Ups into face down defense position. Number 17: Leviathan Dragon is much better. Potentially having 3k attack on a rank 3 is nice. Sure that is all Leviathan Dragon has, but that is still good. Ghost Ship special summons itself by banishing a Light monster, so it is a nice extender. And it has good stats as well. Sea Lancer kind of sucks. It only has 1300 attack, and while it does gain 1k more thanks to its effect, that doesn’t make it amazing. Even the effect to avoid destruction is just okay. If it was a level 4, I’d call it amazing, but it isn’t. It is a level 5, so it sucks. Painful Return is slow and bad, so no. Orient Dragon is a decent Synchro. Stats are just okay, kind of bad even, but the effect is situationally really good. Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon is one of the best generic Rank 5 monsters. Especially ones that were released quickly after the start of the Xyz era. Steelswarm Roach is good in the TCG, but the monsters I encounter don’t have levels, so I don’t think it will be able to do anything. Wind-Up Factory is good. Once per turn search for ‘free’ is always nice. Content originally comes from N()velFire.net Infected Mail is just ‘attack directly once, but you lose your monster’. It can help, but generally, I can just use a bigger number. Time Escaper is kind of trash. No real need to temporarily banish your own stuff, especially since you have to discard for the effect. Maybe if it was free. Wind-Up Juggler has a medicare ‘destroy the monster that battled this card after the battle’ effect. And to make it worse, you can only use it once while Juggler is face up on the field. Gagaga Magician is fine. The level change can help in summoning Xyz monsters, and Gagaga Girl combos with the magician super well. Super Crashbug is a 3k attacker that is decently easy to summon. And it changes the ATK and DEF of all monsters on the field. So yeah, that’s pretty good. Absolute Crusader is fine. Useless for me and situational in the TCG, but at least it has decent stats. Blue-Blooded Oni is good. GY resurrections with not too many conditions are always nice. Though I’ll just be using Monster Reborn. Masked HERO Vapor just can’t be destroyed by card effects. Which is fine, and 2400 attack isn’t bad. Vision HERO Trinity has 5k attack, for a bit after being summoned, and can attack 3 times. That is great. Quill Pen of Gulldos is super specific and all it really does is return 1 card to the hand. Surface is a kind of specific Monster Reborn, but it is still a good card. Space-Time Police is trash. Elemental HERO Nova Master gives you draws, or for me, Pack tokens. Don’t really need them, but 2600 is not a bad attack stat. Number 34: Terror-Byte can take control of low level beings. Including people. So that is nice. And last, Piercing Moray. It can just get up to 2100 attack and deal piercing. Not bad, but not great either. … actually, the attack gain isn’t for the turn, so with enough time, Piercing Moray can get to some really nice stats. Still not amazing, as it gains attack too slowly, but better than I first assumed. Now for what I didn’t get yet. As it turns out, I was missing 5. Plus 2 more that I got as a set bonus for completing Generation Force. Because apparently Pack Opener just handed me the two Generation Force special edition cards after I fully completed Generation Force. So the seven cards I got are. Tiras, Keeper of Genesis has 2600 attack, which is fine, and the effects are okay as well. But there are better rank 5 monsters. Smashing Horn negates a summon negate. That could potentially be good if someone learns how to counter my summons. Pain Painter is an okay Tuner, but nothing more. Lost Blue Breaker is a sucky ‘tribute this monster to MST’ card. Not worth it. Vision HERO Adoration has good stats and can weaken an opposing monster. But it does need another Hero on the field. Now for the two special edition cards. Spore I already had. It has been in other sets. I just mentioned it because … I don’t know. But Elemental HERO Absolute Zero is amazing. 2500 attack is already decent. Gaining 500 more for each Water monster you control is nice. And the nuke on destruction is wonderful. There is a reason Absolute Zero is considered one of the best E-HERO fusions ever. And that is Generation Force completed. Now the next thing. The Xyz challenge. I got to 51 total Xyz monsters, so I can get my next reward. I just need to summon a few Xyz monsters first. The five monsters I need to summon are of course Number 17: Leviathan Dragon; Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon; Number 34: Terror-Byte; Steelswarm Roach and Tiras, Keeper of Genesis. And then I claimed my reward. Which is a great one, since I did get to the halfway point. The Neo Galaxy-Eyes Dragons are some of my favorite monsters ever. What can I say? I like monsters with large attack stats. I think my favorite is Neo Cipher. I just love the idea of stealing every monster your opponent controls. Even if Cipher has its limits. But then again, multi-attacking and attack gain are also amazing, so Neo Photon and Neo Prime Photon are also great. Just … each their own, I suppose. Seems like my next reward won’t be anything that special. Then again, what can you give after three Neo Galaxy-Eyes monsters that seem special?
