Today is a pack opening day. I have three sets I’ve yet to fully complete, and I’m missing plenty of cards from each, so I think I’ll just open 10 packs of each. And that is starting with Shadow Specters. Let’s get to it. Mira the Star-Bearer; Secret Sect Druid Dru; Battlin' Boxer Rabbit Puncher; Intrigue Shield; BIG Win!?; Malicevorous Spoon; Bujingi Ibis; Genomix Fighter; Battlin' Boxer Cheat Commissioner Well, not a great start. Even with an ultra rare in the pack, nothing new came out of it. Sure getting an UR is nice, but I would have preferred something new. BIG Win!?; Ghostrick Stein; White Dragon Wyverburster; Battlin' Boxer Rib Gardna; Dragon Shield; Risebell the Star Psycher; Ghostrick Mansion; Bujingi Centipede; Battlin' Boxer Cheat Commissioner Dragon Shield is half new. Aka. it is new from the set, but I did already have it. Numbers Overlay Boost; Chain Ignition; Ghostrick Scare; Vampire Kingdom; Terrene Toothed Tsuchinoko; Risebell the Star Psycher; Ghostrick Witch; Chow Chow Chan; Swords at Dawn Swords at Dawn can recover an Equip Spell from the GY. But only for a turn. So in theory, it can temporarily fix a broken sword. Or any other weapon. Which could be useful in some specific circumstances. Ghostrick Mansion; Vampire Kingdom; Baby Raccoon Tantan; Knight Day Grepher; Ghostrick Vanish; Risebell the Star Psycher; Intrigue Shield; Noble Arms - Excaliburn; Burst Rebirth Noble Arms - Excaliburn is cool. It is a shame it is Noble Knights only, but we can probably remove that restriction. And it gives targeting immunity. Kind of like Absolute Immunity which was a part of the ‘Protector of the System’ ability on the Hero’s Holy Sword. So we might be able to use that to better our replica of the sword. Rasetsu; Ghostrick Witch; Vampire Grace; Knight Day Grepher; Secret Sect Druid Dru; Numbers Overlay Boost; Skelesaurus; Vampire Duke; Kidmodo Dragon Kidmodo Dragon is fine. You get a free special summon when it is sent to your GY. Not that necessary for me, but it is cute, so I like it. BIG Win!?; Malicevorous Fork; Ghostrick Jiangshi; Chow Chow Chan; Baby Raccoon Ponpoko; Mecha Phantom Beast Sabre Hawk; Bujingi Ibis; Ghostrick Stein; Swords at Dawn Nothing new here, next. Armed Protector Dragon; Mira the Star-Bearer; Mythic Water Dragon; Numbers Overlay Boost; Bujingi Boar; Bujingi Centipede; Malicevorous Fork; Swarm of Crows; Granmarg the Mega Monarch Swarm of Crows is a terrifying idea. Just the fact that I can summon a murder of crows is crazy. Sure it might not sound like a lot compared to some other stuff I can do, but for most people, seeing that many crows acting towards a single goal would be terrifying. And Granmarg the Mega Monarch is just a big stone golem. Useful enough, but I feel like I have other monsters that do the same. … actually, the Monarch are really good at magic, so Granmarg the Mega Monarch would be really good at Earth Magic, probably on a similar level as my level 8 Spellcasters are. And I don’t have strong Earth Spellcasters. I mean, Trance the Magic Swordsman is the strongest I have, outside of some DNA Transplanted monsters. So having Granmarg for the advanced Earth Magic is great. Also, my fourth higher rarity card. From seven packs. I hope I have some luck left for the later sets and Shadow Specters didn’t drain all of it. Vampire Grace; Ghostrick Mansion; Bujingi Boar; Sacred Serpent's Wake; Mythic Water Dragon; Ghostrick Yuki-onna; BIG Win!?; Bujingi Ibis; Grisaille Prison Grisaille Prison is cool. Way too situational, but still really cool. It is a painting prison. I need to learn how to make those so that I can trap people in paintings. Ghostrick Specter; Mythic Tree Dragon; Secret Sect Druid Wid; Chow Chow Chan; Blue Duston; Bujingi Centipede; Baby Raccoon Tantan; Sinister Yorishiro; Number 65: Djinn Buster Sinister Yorishiro is useless to me. I can summon level 5 monsters for free anyway, don’t need a card for that. And the protection is way too specific to be worth using. And Number 65: Djinn Buster is okay. Effect negation is nice, the burn damage is okay, and it has … okay, the stats are kind of low. Still a decent monster. Ghostrick Jiangshi; Knight Day Grepher; Risebell the Star Psycher; Battlin' Boxer Rabbit Puncher; Battlin' Boxer Rib Gardna; Soul Drain Dragon; Magicalized Duston Mop; Baby Raccoon Tantan; Swarm of Crows Ghostrick Jiangshi is new. And it searches for Ghostrick monsters. But that is it for Shadow Specters. Have to say, the set went crazy. 2 supers, 2 ultras and a secret rare, all from 10 packs. Yeah, 1 was a repeat, but still. Now, set change. Legacy of the Valiant is next. LVAL 1 Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by novel⸺fire.net Xyz Shift; Rose Witch; Mystic Macrocarpa Seed; Gorgonic Cerberus; Gorgonic Golem; Bujin Regalia - The Jewel; Overlay Sentinel; Interplanetarypurplythorny Beast; Nikitama Well, nothing new here. Next. Bujingi Swallow; Dododo Buster; Ghostrick Yeti; Starship Spy Plane; Luminous Dragon Ritual; Tackle Crusader; Ghostrick Jackfrost; Release, Reverse, Burst; Ghostrick-Go-Round Ghostrick-Go-Round is okay for TCG use, but probably not something I’ll use. Gillagillancer; Kalantosa, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Overlay Sentinel; Snapdragon; Gorgonic Guardian; Sirenorca; Starship Spy Plane; Gorgonic Ghoul; Nikitama Nothing new here, next. Mystic Macrocarpa Seed; Sylvan Blessing; Deep-Space Cruiser IX; Sirenorca; Stand-Off; Dark Artist; Snapdragon; Xyz Avenger; Gravekeeper's Heretic Gravekeeper's Heretic is just unaffected by everything while Necrovalley is active. Which is fine, but it doesn’t have the stats needed for that kind of effect to be amazing. Mystic Macrocarpa Seed; Alpacaribou, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Starship Spy Plane; Release, Reverse, Burst; Swordsman from a Distant Land; Mighty Warrior; Xyz Avenger; Ghostrick-Go-Round; Gravekeeper's Oracle Gravekeeper's Oracle is pretty cool. Sure I’d have to tribute summon him for the full effect, but I can do that. And with the attack gain, it can get quite large if I pick the tributes right. Also the ‘monsters your opponent currently controls lose 2000 ATK/DEF’ makes that attack seem even higher. Only thing it really lacks is protection. See, this card needs Gravekeeper's Heretic’s effect. Mystic Macrocarpa Seed; Overlay Booster; Dododo Buster; Chronomaly Moai Carrier; Xyz Avenger; Kalantosa, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Xyz Shift; Bujin Arasuda; Sylvan Komushroomo Well, I got another ultra rare, but I already had Bujin Arasuda. Xyz Avenger; Sylvan Blessing; Gravekeeper's Ambusher; The Monarchs Awaken; Kalantosa, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Overlay Sentinel; Xyz Shift; Xyz Override; Number C92: Heart-eartH Chaos Dragon Number C92: Heart-eartH Chaos Dragon is new. And it is decent. Not great on its own, but it does some really good combos with other monsters. And it can negate the effects of all opposing monsters, so that is really nice. Chronomaly Winged Sphinx; Mighty Warrior; Mystic Macrocarpa Seed; Swordsman from a Distant Land; Overlay Sentinel; Interplanetarypurplythorny Beast; Ghostrick Nekomusume; White Duston; Bujinunity Nothing new here, next. Ghostrick Skeleton; Ghostrick Nekomusume; Swordsman from a Distant Land; Gravekeeper's Ambusher; Majiosheldon; Ghostrick Museum; Rose Witch; Xyz Avenger; Sylvan Mikorange Sylvan Mikorange is a … I was going to call it a decent first turn set in a Sylvan deck, but there probably are better. And the ‘if milled’ effect it has is not really that good. Sylvan Guardioak; Bujin Regalia - The Jewel; Xyz Override; Photon Chargeman; Gorgonic Gargoyle; Interplanetarypurplythorny Beast; Bujingi Swallow; Gorgonic Cerberus; Number 39: Utopia Roots And nothing new here. Legacy of the Valiant wasn’t as good as Shadow Specters, but I still got some new cards. The last set of the day is of course Primal Origin. Heliosphere Dragon; Evo-Singularity; Scrap Factory; Blizzard Thunderbird; Shogi Knight; Number 42: Galaxy Tomahawk; Artifact Aegis; Hazy Flame Hydra; Rose Archer Rose Archer is pretty decent. Sure it is just a trap negater, but it works like a hand trap, so that is pretty good. Ghostrick Doll; And the Band Played On; Condemned Maiden; Bujincident; ZS - Vanish Sage; Jackpot 7; Heliosphere Dragon; Number C80: Requiem in Berserk; Artifact Sanctum And the Band Played On is an interesting card for TCG use. But it is useless to me. Bujincident is really destructive, returning all monsters to then hand. And then the additional limitations as well. It really is a cool card. Number C80: Requiem in Berserk is really nice. It can give an Xyz monster a 2k attack boost, die in their stead, and banish opposing stuff if I summon it with a Rank-Up-Magic. And Artifact Sanctum special summons Artifacts from the deck. So it is busted. Last Counter; Artifact Failnaught; Nopenguin; Ancient Gear Box; Sylvan Cherubsprout; Ghostrick Warwolf; Gimmick Puppet Des Troy; Starduston; Phantom Fortress Enterblathnir Phantom Fortress Enterblathnir isn’t a bad Xyz monster for combat use, but I feel like I’ll use it more for transportation. It is a massive flying fortress. I really need to consider which of my ships would be the best for mass evacuations. Well, the correct answer is Number 9, but that is kind of the cosmic option if I need to evacuate the entire continent. Phantom King Hydride; Tri-and-Guess; Scrap Factory; ZS - Vanish Sage; Condemned Maiden; Umbral Horror Ghost; Hazy Flame Hydra; Number C107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon; Mermaid Shark Phantom King Hydride is a level 3 Tuner that can also be a non tuner. Tri-and-Guess is easy healing for me, but I honestly have better ways of healing for 3k. Number C107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon I already had, but it is new from the set. And Neo Tachyon looks amazing. Artifact Achilleshield; Ghostrick Night; And the Band Played On; Scrap Factory; Evo-Singularity; ZS - Vanish Sage; Battlin' Boxer Big Bandage; ZW - Sleipnir Mail; Number 103: Ragnazero Number 103: Ragnazero is another already had, but new from the set. Sylvan Cherubsprout; Battlin' Boxer Big Bandage; Sylvan Waterslide; Bolt Penguin; Artifact Labrys; ZW - Sleipnir Mail; Artifact Failnaught; Sylvan Charity; Number 80: Rhapsody in Berserk Bolt Penguin is just a bad vanilla. Sylvan Charity is really nice. A draw 3, and while you need to return 2 cards to the top of your deck, you get to pick what you place, so you can place Sylvans on the top so that you can mill them later. And Number 80: Rhapsody in Berserk works quite nicely as well. Two banishes from the GY, then you can either rank it up or just equip it to an Xyz monster. Sure 1200 isn’t as much as 2k, and three banishes is better than 2, but either way it is a good monster. Phantom King Hydride; Sylvan Cherubsprout; Nopenguin; Ancient Gear Box; Ghostrick Warwolf; Number 42: Galaxy Tomahawk; ZS - Vanish Sage; Artifact Labrys; Gladiator Beast Augustus Gladiator Beast Augustus is new. Didn’t expect Gladiator Beasts in this set. It is fine, but the special summon is from the hand, not deck. So don’t need it. Bolt Penguin; Battlin' Boxer Big Bandage; Artifacts Unleashed; Number 43: Manipulator of Souls; Ancient Gear Box; Artifact Labrys; Heliosphere Dragon; Bujincident; Beautunaful Princess Number 43: Manipulator of Souls is pretty decent. It cannot be destroyed by battle or card effect, and it gains attack whenever I heal. So if Lua is with me, I can very quickly ramp up its attack. Actually, it might gain attack from my Regeneration and if it does, that will also allow me to boost it super fast. And Beautunaful Princess specials stuff from the deck. And you know that means it is buster. Gazer Shark; Artifact Achilleshield; Sylvan Cherubsprout; Galaxy Dragon; Starduston; Umbral Horror Ghost; Scrap Factory; Sylvan Sagequoia; Number C43: High Manipulator of Chaos Sylvan Sagequoia is great. It specials itself for free, has good stats, can freely mill for you, and if you mill it, it recovers a Sylvan Spell/Trap. I’m starting to like Sylvans more now that I’m actually seeing some of their good cards. And Number C43: High Manipulator of Chaos is really different from its non chaos version. It is good, but it feels like it belongs to a different deck. Tokens being able to attack twice and having LP equal to half your opponent’s HP is pretty cool though. Okay. Last pack of the day. Hoping for something good, but honestly, I’ve had a good opening, so even if it is something mid, it will be enough. Last Counter; Battlin' Boxer Veil; Number 43: Manipulator of Souls; Jackpot 7; Scrap Factory; Heliosphere Dragon; Double Dragon Descent; Sylvan Sagequoia; Don Thousand's Throne And we are ending things with another ultra rare. Yes it is a repeat of the card I just got, but I don't mind. Because as a new card, we have Don Thousand's Throne. It is LP gain and it can act as a Rank-Up-Magic. Pretty nice. As was Primal Origin as a whole. 1 super rare and 4 ultra rares. That is great. But that is all for today. Just felt like opening some packs and … wait. One more thing. I got new Numbers today, including some Chaos Numbers. So let’s check how many I have. … And I have 59 Numbers. Technically I have 63, but five of those are Number 39s, and only 1 of them counts for the total. And I have 16 Chaos Numbers. +2 extra C39s. That does mean that I got a new Chaos side ability, that of the ‘Energy Ball’. I’ll test out the power of it the next time I train and will report back on that afterwards.
