Zerra was quick to react. She lifted her feet and sped away, pretending not to hear Meira’s shouts. The back of her head tingled as she felt countless pairs of eyes following her movements. Now, she felt as if she were an animal in the zoo. Meira didn’t give up. "Zerra, wait for me!" She was following Zerra, shouting her concerns and worries about her disappearance in the open. Actually, Zerra was surprised that Meira could still live quite well at the base. Her foolish elder brother didn’t secretly reconcile with her while she and her elder sister weren’t looking, right? She never stopped running away like she was being chased by some kind of monster. When she arrived at the planting field, her eyes lit up. There was Laziel there. Since it was her dearest elder brother who had invited this god of trouble, he should be the one dealing with it too. "Elder brother!" She shouted rather enthusiastically. Her running speed was too fast, so it would take a while for Meira to catch up with her, but it wouldn’t take long until she did. Laziel paused. Why did she look so happy? He vaguely sensed something was wrong. She always rolled her eyes at him whenever they met, so Zerra acting out of character was unusual. However, thinking of her brooding face for the past few days ever since they failed to catch up with the culprit behind the scenes, he was more than happy seeing her had become lively again. He instinctively reached to rub her hair, messing it up. She didn’t refuse; her eyes flitted to the entrance of the planting fields, searching for Isryn’s figure. "Where is Cassias? Why are you alone?" He asked. "He is still discussing something with Evan," she said casually, muttering the lieutenant general’s name. After Lieutenant General Byron had gone back to his human base, Evan became the highest authority at the main base again. "Did you meet elder sister?" She tilted her head, silently glancing in the direction where Meira would come from. The girl had stopped to catch her breath, and now she was walking in their direction again. "Yes. There is something–" "We will talk again later." Zerra interrupted her. "I am going to find Sister Isryn. I heard she is here." With that, she jogged toward the planting fields. "Wait, Zee. I am also going to find Eryx." He shouted. His little sister never stopped to wait for him. If anything, she changed from light jogging to running. "Azi..." A sickeningly familiar voice floated to his ears. Goosebumps ran down his spine. Meira was staring at him with joyful eyes. "Azi, let’s talk!" He didn’t want to talk to her, so he followed Zerra’s action and ran. For the past few months, Zerra’s disappearance had occupied his mind entirely, leaving no room to ponder his heartbreak. Gradually, he also accepted it. The person he liked wanted to harm his sisters, and thus after they separated, he also should move on. The feeling of betrayal, the anger and unwillingness had long calmed down. As he caught a glimpse of Meira’s face again, his heart no longer stirred like it used to. Now, he was just afraid of trouble. Because... he found out that every time they crossed paths, his ex-girlfriend would try to find a chance to stick to him no matter what. It happened a few times when their group first returned to the base after the earthquake. Without him, unexpectedly, Meira was still living quite nicely. However, it also didn’t concern him anymore how she achieved her current comfort. In another location, Zerra was almost breathless. Isryn was hugging her tightly as soon as they met. "Zee!" Isryn exclaimed, her face full of emotion. After they separated, Zerra took the chance to examine Isryn’s condition. Just one look was enough to make a deep frown decorate her forehead. Isryn was very different from her lively self a few months ago. The woman’s cheeks were more sunken. Obvious dark circles painted her face. She was a lot thinner, like all she had now been reduced to bones. She was wearing a headscarf as she took care of the vegetables in the plantation field. "Sister Isryn, what happened to your hair?" Zerra had a stunned look on her face. She just noticed Isryn’s hair color. There were only a few strands of white hair, but with senses they were very noticeable. Isryn’s condition was worse than anyone she had come across after she returned. If not for her familiar breath, Zerra might have mistaken her for someone else at first glance. "Oh?" Isryn let out a soft, surprised gasp. Then, she sighed. "What happened?" Zerra frowned. Something huge must have happened to her. At this time, Eryx walked to them, carrying a basket full of fruits and vegetables. "It might be because of stress," Isryn muttered. Her tired eyes flashed with heartache. "I found traces of my parents, but they might not have survived." She swallowed. "Recently, my teacher disappeared too." Isryn’s life was really hard. Zerra wasn’t good at comforting people, so she just pulled Isryn into a hug again. Isryn closed her eyes. A feeling of peace returned to her, although only temporarily. Then, she realized Zerra was using her power on her. Zerra’s wood ability was chaotic. The girl obviously still had difficulty controlling it, but her power was much purer. "We will still find Mom and Dad, Sis! They are not dead." Eryx’s voice raised. His eyes filled with disapproval. "Alright." Isryn took a deep breath. "It’s better if we don’t talk about this anymore. It will only remind us of sad things." Eryx pursed his lips, clenching his fists. A few moments after he controlled his emotions, he realized Zerra was there. "Zerra," he stared at her in pleasant surprise. "It’s been a long time since we met. I-I am glad you are safe." As he masked the look of determination on his face and noticed Zerra’s presence, he was back to being his usual shy personality. His tone softened considerably. Before Zerra could respond, they saw Laziel half-running and heading toward them. Meira was close behind him. His face was filled with helplessness. "Azi! If you are willing to talk to me, I can give you the secret of your sister’s lover!"
