Chapter 33 Taliyah's POV # Finished 1 explain that I have never worn heels in my life and I don't want to fall flat on my ass on my first night out in a dress. Layna keeps giggling and Grandmother just laughs at me. Grandmother's maid rushes out of the room and returns within seconds, she hands me another shoebox. I open it up to find a similar pair as Grandmother is holding, but these have a small heel and I pull them from the box with a smile on my face. "You see, Grandmother. I don't have to risk my life." I say with a smirk on my face as I put on the other shoes. I get up from my seat and stand in front of the mirror, looking at a woman I don't recognize. Tears form in my eyes as I see myself for the first time in my life as a woman, a woman that looks beautiful and is worth the attention people show her. I feel a pair of arms wrap around me and it is then that I realize that I had closed my eyes. "Let's go in to the living-room and make your Cousin drool. Layna, keep the tissues nearby." Grandmother says as she holds on to my arm and guides me to the door. We can hear voices coming from the living-room, but the second I step in to view the conversation stalls and Alaric starts to whistle. Which results in Anayah punching him in the shoulder. He rubs his shoulder as he pouts and says "Her Mates better keep their Lycans in check, they might just throw protocol out of the window." This time it is my jaw that drops and Grandfather smacks him on the head. The others laugh at his words as he rubs his head. "Maybe I should change in to another dress." I say quietly as I keep my eyes on the floor. Alaric puts a finger under my chin and makes me look up at him. He shakes his head as he says that I look gorgeous and that I don't need to put on another dress. "You are a very beautiful woman and your Father is an ass, for ever making you think otherwise." My Grandfather is standing next to Alaric as he grumbles those words. Anayah walks to Alaric's side and I can see she slips something in to his pocket, he smiles before he kisses her forehead. He puts his hand in his pocket and pulls out a small rectangular box. "I have been holding on to this since the day your Mother left and I always hoped that I would be able to return it to her, one day. Today I return it to you, her Daughter, and I promise you that I will always be here if you need me. I will look out for you, I will protect you and I will always listen to you and your opinions." Tears are running down my cheeks at his words and I can see his eyes are watery. He opens the box and in it lies a gold bracelet with a Trinity Knot and in the middle of it is an emerald. It matches my necklace and my dress, Anayah takes it out and locks it around my wrist. She hugs me and whispers "Welcome home, Taliyah." If had been up to him he would have marked her the second we found her, but luckily he is also a smart Lycan and he knows that we have to do this on her terms. We both can't wait until she gets back to us and I know that my Brothers feel the same way. Eamon has been pacing the room ever since we got back to our quarters and Ward has snapped at him twice already. There is a knock on the door and Eamon pulls it open before I can blink my eyes. I see the smile on his face drop as he gets confronted with our parents and I can't help but chuckle. "Sorry, Eamon. I know you were hoping to find someone else out here." Our Mother says and I can see a twinkle in her eyes. "Let's go down stairs to wait on your Mate. I doubt the Royal Family will keep us waiting long." Our Father says and he turns around to emphasize his words. The three of us follow our parents and wait in the hallway for our Mate. Suddenly the hall goes silent and we see Prince Dante and Princess Maleah at the top of the stairs and as they decent the stairs, King Alaric and Queen Anayah follow them. As soon as the four of them reach the bottom of the stairs, they turn around to look up the stairs like the rest of us. The second she comes in to view, my jaw drops and my Lycan starts to howl. "Absolutely stunning." I hear Ward say in my head and the three of us take a step forward. "Don't you dare. You better stay were you are or I am asking Your Father to kick your ass." Hearing her through the mind-link stops me dead in my tracks and I have to hide a smile at her threat, I know he will kick our asses if she asks him to. Ward has a huge smile on his face and I know he is up to no good. However I fear he might regret his decision to test our Mate. The time we have spent with her has shown me a woman that has determination and a strong will. I know she will be a handful, but I will never give her up and neither will my Brothers.
