12 I'm Not Angry Enzo POV I had no idea what the hell my father intended to say to Luciana, but I didn't need him f**king up what I am still trying to fix. She truly looked beautiful, and I knew I was a lucky ba**ard to be able to call her my wife. I know my little brother, despite our differences, would never touch my wife with anything but brotherly affection, but I still didn't like the thought of his hands on her. Honestly, I can't wait to get her up to our room tonight. I haven't had a release in weeks and the thought of her body is making it harder not to throw her over my shoulder and carry her out of this reception. I was glad when Alberto stepped in because I didn't like the way my father was looking at Luciana. I can only imagine what was said that had him ready to put her in her place. He needs to worry about his own marriage and stay out of mine. I move across the room to speak with Giovanni Romano. He is a ba**ard that took his family by force, but he is a good alliance against the feds. I don't agree with some of his methods, but he is good at business and keeps his word. I'm just about to step up next to him when I notice a familiar bleach blonde out of the corner of my eye. F**k, she wouldn't dare. I turn to make sure my eyes are not playing tricks on me, only to find that Amelia is waving at me from the corner of the room. A hard slap on my back has me looking at Giovanni. "Looks like your mistress didn't the message about her place, Enzo. You should get a better handle on your women," he says. F**k him too. We all know exactly what he is like with his women. "Don't worry Gio, I have everything under control." He hates the nickname, but I don't wait for him to tell me off. I move toward Amelia, being sure not to touch her. Even though all I want to do is pull her out of the room. "Why the f**k are you here?" "Don't be like that Enzo. We have been friends for a very long time. How could I not be here," she asks. "Why the f**k did you think it was alright to come to my wedding after everything that happened, Amelia? Again, I'll say you were not invited." "No matter what happened, we are friends, Enzo. I understand our physical relationship is over, but you are still my friend. I came to celebrate your marriage. Besides, at some point you'll get bored with her," she says, reaching out to touch me. This woman must be out of her mind. If we weren't in a room full of people, I would beat the sh*t out of her for her disrespect. I turn looking for Luciana to ensure she hasn't spotted Amelia when our eyes meet. How does sh*t just keep getting worse? Hearing Luciana threaten to shoot Amelia has my d**k twitching in my pants. This woman surprises me at every turn. She is nothing like I thought she would be. Now I need to figure out how the hell to convince her I didn't invite Amelia. She already doesn't trust me. I make my way towards Luciana as Amelia is dragged away spouting about us f**king, but I'm immediately stopped by my mother. Any other woman would be pushed out of the way, but this is my mama. "I can't believe you. Not even on your wedding day can you act like the man that I raised. Are you so eager to become your father, Enzo?" Her words are like a slap to the face. She knows he isn't faithful. "Mama," I start to say, but she cuts me off. "I honestly thought I raised you to be a better man, but I guess I was wrong. Mark my words, that young woman isn't me. My mother told me to expect a man that would have wh*res, but I honestly thought you would be different from the man that lies to my face about loving me. Luciana will not be your doormat I'm Not Angry despite whatever lies your father has told you. As for me, I will help her at every turn to make you pay for the sins you lay at her feet. "Now you will leave her alone for the rest of the evening," she says. I look up to see my cousin Bernard leading her out on the dance floor. "Doesn't feel good to see something you believe is yours being touched by someone else, does it? Hold on to that feeling. Remember that every time you think about allowing yourself to give yourself to that puttanna or any other one. I have a feeling your bride will make you pay in spades. You could have a good marriage, Enzo, or you can have one made up of lies and deceit. The choice is yours," my mother says as she finally walks away. I take two steps toward the dance floor. Despite my mother's warning to leave her alone, I need to talk to Luciana. Before I can reach her, my father gets into my face. "What the f**k is wrong with you allowing that wh*re to come to your wedding? Are you trying to ruin everything we have worked so hard for? Luciana is your wife, and you need to play your part if you ever hope to take over the family," he says. For the first time, I realize he isn't talking about the Caruso family. He must see my question without me asking it. "Alberto has no sons. You will make nice with his daughter and make sure she gets the ideas she has about running the family with you out of her head. She needs to be pregnant and in the kitchen where she belongs," he says. "If you keep f**king up by prancing your wh*res in front of her, she will never learn to be the obedient wife you need. Be the man I've raised you to be and get your wife and wh*res in line. Now let's go have a drink with your new father-in-law, who thankfully didn't witness the scene your puttana just made," he says. He walks toward Don Rizzo, who is smiling at his wife. I look back at Luciana as I follow my father. I hate the way she is smiling as Bernard twirls her around the dance floor. A feeling of jealousy is like a stone in my belly. I take the seat next to my new father-in-law and across from my brother. I don't have time to react to the look of disgust on Antonio's face as Don Rizzo slaps me on the back. "Welcome to the family, my son. I know you will be a good husband to my principessa. Let's have a drink before you try and whisk her away," he says with a chuckle and wink. I throw back the dark amber liquid, enjoying the burn. When I look back towards the dance floor as the other men start to discuss business, I notice that Luciana is no longer dancing. I search the room and finally find her standing next to that damn b**ard from the limo and our mothers. Is she saying goodbye like she plans on leaving without me? I get to my feet and stalk toward the group. When she notices me, all the warmth that was in her eyes is gone. "Luciana," I start to say, but she cuts me off quickly. "I'm going to my room. Feel free to continue to enjoy the party," she says before turning toward the door. What the f**k does she mean by her room? The only room she is going to is the penthouse suite for our wedding night. I notice a half smirk on Cecilia's face. "Good luck, Enzo. I'm rooting for you," she says before she turns to walk away. "What the hell did that mean," I ask my mother. "That means you have your work cut out for you. I for one, am rooting for you too my son. I love you," she says before she pulls my face down, placing kisses on both my cheeks. Why the hell do I feel I'm in the twilight zone? I know what happened was f**ked up, but I didn't invite that b**ch here. Hell, I have no idea how she even got in. Bruno my second in command, has been circulating all night. I told him it wasn't necessary, but he isn't exactly the type to engage in small talk. I wave him over, and he comes to stand at my side. "Find out how the hell Amelia got in here. I want whoever was dumb enough to upset my new bride in the dungeon by tomorrow." "Of course, boss," he says before walking away. 2/3 12 I'm Not Angry +15 Points > I make my way out of the reception and toward the elevators that will take me to the penthouse suite. When the doors open, I groan as a woman I recognize steps inside before the door closes. She offers me a smile she thinks is seductive, but I can't be bothered to return it. "Enzo, it's good to see you again" she says, taking a step closer to me. "Don't even think about touching me. I'm married and not interested." "That doesn't sound like the Enzo I know," she says. I grab her by the throat and slam her against the wall. "Tr y me puttana and see what happens." I drop her just as quickly as I grabbed her. The door to the elevator opens, and she scurries back out quickly. When the door closes again, I rest my head back against the wall. This time when it dings, I step out on my floor. That ba**ard from the limo is standing outside the door of the suite with a big smile on his face. "Why the f**k are you here? No one can get to this floor, so you're not needed. Besides, I told you I can protect my wife." "Actually, Enzo, I'm here to protect you. Luciana is quite upset," he says. I step closer, expecting to see fear flash in his eyes, but it doesn't happen. We stare at each other for a long pause before I push past him and step into the suite. I'm not sure what I expected, but Luciana sitting in the living room in a pair of silk pajamas that cover every bit of her milky skin with a drink in her hand wasn't it. "Luciana, we need to talk." "You are right, we do. Have a seat so we can talk and I can go to bed. I'm exhausted," she says. I move to sit next to her, but she quickly moves away. "Luciana, I know you're angry about Amelia." "Do not say that puttana's name in my presence. I'm not angry. I'm disappointed that you are already breaking the rules. Let's get some things perfectly clear about this partnership, since apparently you and your papa have some misconceptions about my role in your family," she says. What the f**k?
