13 Discussion Luciana POV As soon as I reach the suite, I step inside the smaller of the two bedrooms where I had Jules place my bags. I grab my favorite soft pink pajama set and head into the bathroom. I take one last look at myself in the beautiful white dress that, despite the drama of the evening, made me feel like a princess. I undo the straps and the dress pools at my feet. I step out of the white lace bra and panties, dropping them to the floor. I quickly wipe my make-up off and unpin my hair. My long black hair falls in waves down my back. I step into the hot spray and allow the water to wash away some of my anger that has taken root since I saw that b**ch earlier. I believe Enzo didn't expect her to show up after hearing their conversation, but he has allowed her to believe that she has the right to be close to him. I push thoughts of both of them away as I continue to run the body wash over my curves. + I know Enzo will be here any minute and I don't need to let emotions drive the conversation. I wash quickly letting the scent of lavender surround me. Once I'm satisfied and feeling less volatile. I step out and dry. I quickly lotion myself and slip on my pajamas. I walk out of the bedroom grateful that I am still alone. Heading to the mini-bar, I pour myself two fingers of bourbon before I take a seat on the couch to wait. It doesn't take long for Enzo to arrive. I can tell by the look in his eyes he is confused by my appearance. Did expect me to be waiting in lingerie after everything that's happened over the last few weeks. He couldn't have really believed that anything would be happening tonight between us, could he? The minute he sits next to me, I move my position, putting space between us. As much as I hate to admit it to myself, my attraction to Enzo hasn't wavered, but right now I have to focus on thinking with my head. There is no denying he is an attractive man and I enjoy his touch, but that won't happen until I can trust him and right now I don't. "Luciana, I know you're angry about Amelia" he says. I keep my voice even because I refuse to allow him to think I'm jealous of that puttana. "Do not say that puttana's name in my presence. I am not angry. I'm disappointed that you are already breaking rules. Let's get some things perfectly clear about this partnership since, apparently, you and your papa have some misconceptions about my role in this family." "I'm not sure what the hell my papa said to you, but I assure you I know exactly what your role is Luciana. You are my wife. Soon to be the mother of my children." "So you agree with him that I will be barefoot and pregnant. No better than a maid, nanny, or cook in our home." He looks at me like I've grown another head. "I never said that you are anything of the sort," he says. "Let me enlighten you. I am a Rizzo. I am educated, deadly, and I will never be your perfect little mafia wife while you play the big bad boss." The smirk that spreads across his face only further pisses me off. He reaches his hand out to touch my thigh, but I quickly push it away. "I will be involved in the running of our family. The Caruso family. If you and your father thought you would ever take over as Don of the Rizzo family, that won't happen. I would become Donna before I would let any man take my birthright. Now I assume you expected to consummate our marriage tonight based on the disappointment I saw when you first walked in to the suite." "Until I feel I can trust you, that won't be happening. If I find out that you bury yourself in any willing women including your little f**k buddy, I will make you sorry. I'm sure as head of our family you can show restraint and, if not, you will not like the consequences. I promised my father there would be no divorce, but there are 1/3 worse things that I can promise you. Now I'm heading to bed." I stand and take a step past him. He grips my wrist and pulls me into his lap. His hand on my thigh has me trying to free myself from his hold. The feeling of his growing erection under my bottom has me freezing in place. "I know you don't trust me yet, Luciana, but I promise to change that. As far as s*x goes, I'll honor your wishes, but I have a feeling you won't be able to resist me as long as you think you can. Now I think, since I'm going to have no choice but to find relief with my hand for the foreseeable future, you owe me a good night kiss," he says. Before I can protest, he spins me, so I straddle him and brings my lips down to meet his. F**k, this is not good. His mouth moves against mine and I resist the urge to moan into his mouth. He squeezes my hip and my mouth opens to gasp on instinct. He quickly runs his tongue along mine, deepening the kiss. What the hell is wrong with me? I need to stop this. No sooner does the thought enter my head then does Enzo break the kiss. He stands with me in his arms and starts to carry me toward the bedroom. "What are you doing, Enzo? I'm not sleeping with you. I just told you that s*x isn't happening. I kissed you, but that's it." He chuckles as he pushes open the door. "I heard you loud and clear, my wife, but I refuse to sleep apart. We are married, and we will share a bed here and at home. Now I'm going to take a very cold shower before I come back out and sleep next to my beautiful bride," he says. I go to open my mouth, and he presses a quick kiss to my lips. He lays me down and pulls the covers over me. He heads toward what I assume is the bathroom but stops as he reaches for the handle. "Oh and don't think about leaving this room, amore, because I'll just bring you back. You have your rules and I have mine. Look at us acting like husband and wife already," he says with a smirk. Once he heads into the bathroom, I let my body relax. I thought he would fight me more about the whole s*x thing, but I can't be disappointed that he actually respected my decision. I still don't think it's a good idea for us to sleep in the same bed. F**k, that's exactly what he is hoping. He thinks because I find him attractive I won't be able to control myself. Well f**k him. I'm not the one that has a problem controlling my urges. The sound of the door opening has me swallowing the lump in my throat as I watch Enzo walk across the room in nothing but a pair of lounge pants. His tattooed muscular torso on full display. I turn to my side and he chuckles. "You are supposed to like what you see amore, God knows I do," he says, sliding in next to me. He wraps his arm around me, pulling my back to his front. I fight the urge to pull away from him. He presses a kiss to the back of my head. I refuse to give him the satisfaction of knowing how much being this close to him affects me. It doesn't take long for my eyes to get heavy and sleep to take me under. I'm not sure how long I've slept, but the feeling of the warm sun on my face has my eyes fluttering open. I expect to find Enzo sound asleep next to me, but instead his side of the bed is cold. I push away the feeling of disappointment and slide out of bed. I listen at the bathroom door, but there's silence. I head out of the bedroom and the suite is empty. Where the hell has he gone? I head into the bedroom where my clothes are still in my bags. I grab an ankle-length flowery sundress and fresh undergarments. Once I'm dressed, I pull my hair into a high ponytail and throw on my gladiator sandals. The sound of the door to the suite opening has me stepping out of the bedroom. A look of disappointment flashes in Enzo's eyes before he smiles at me. "I had hoped you would still be in bed. It's early. I brought you breakfast," he says, lifting the bags to show me. "Thank you, I'm starved." He walks forward, setting the food on the table. I take a seat and pile my food on the plastic plate that Enzo sets down in front of me. "After breakfast, I have to handle something, and then 2/3 < 13 Discussion we will head to the airport for our honeymoon." It's my turn to look at him like he has ten heads. +15 Points > "What honeymoon?" "Luciana, we got married yesterday, which means we go on our honeymoon today," he says. "That isn't necessary, Enzo. This is nothing more than a business partnership right now. Maybe someday it will be more, but a honeymoon isn't necessary." "Luciana" he starts to say, but I cut him off. "What business do you have to handle?" "I had my second find out who let" he stops himself. "The puttana into our wedding," I finish for him. He nods and takes a mouthful of food. "I'll go with you. I just need to change." "Amore" he starts to say, but based on my look he simply nods. Maybe Herbito and my father were right. Maybe he can become the man that was meant to be my true husband.
