---- Chapter 6 Owen pleaded, "I heard your message, and I know you're angry at me, but I can explain! I love you so much, have you forgotten that? I remember everything you love to eat. Every time I came back from handling pack matters, I brought you your favorite cake! "Every little thing about you, I remember it all. How could I not love you?" Owen clutched at my shoulders, desperately trying to get an answer from me. I let out a sigh. "Owen, you said you had to stay out late handling pack matters, but why did you always come home smelling like Ashley? And the cake-how many times have I told you that I don't like chocolate? Why did you keep buying it?" I continued, "You don't have an answer, do you? Let me help you. It's because you only remembered what Ashley liked; you never once remembered what I like! Chocolate cake is her ---- favorite, not mine!" Owen took a step back in disbelief. "But I always remembered your birthday..." I laughed coldly and jabbed him hard on the chest with my finger. '"My birthday was never May 9th. That's Ashley's birthday! My birthday is on May 7th. Was that so hard to remember?" Owen collapsed to the ground, unable to say a word. As I turned to leave, he grabbed my clothes and pleaded, "Ivy, I never wanted to kill our pup. You have to believe me!" The moment he mentioned killing our pup, I could no longer hold back the fury inside me as I shouted, "I heard everything! I saw that potion!" He shook his head violently. "I switched it out! How could I ever kill our pup?" I felt my heart soften for a moment when I heard ---- that, but I quickly came back to my senses. Ino longer needed to place my love in something so fragile and uncertain. I would take control of my own fate and create my own happiness. I was an Alpha, after all. The council's meeting chime interrupted the scuffle between Owen and me. Everyone took their seats, and two unexpected guests walked through the doors. The man who had betrayed me before Owen did, Alex Farkas, entered the council hall. He had brought Ashley-who should still have been in the dungeons-with him. All eyes immediately locked onto the two of them. Ashley was crying at that moment, hiding pitifully behind Alex. As soon as our eyes met, she screamed and pointed at me. "Why aren't you dead?" ---- I shrugged nonchalantly. "Is it so strange that I'm not?" Ashley froze for a second, then she quickly snapped back into character. She seized the chance and pointed at me. "So this was all your plan!" She continued, "Everyone, I want to press charges! She's a vicious woman! First, she tried to kill my pup, then she faked her death to frame me and got me thrown into the dungeon!" Gasps and murmuts filled the hall. Ashley took the chance to cry even harder and said, "Ivy, I know you still blame me for Alex choosing me in the end, but that wasn't my fault! Why do you keep hurting me again and again?" I casually flipped through my files, saying indifferently, ''Ashley, since you claim I killed your pup and locked you up, do you have any proof?"
