Anton received a lot of information from the man who looked like an officer who gave them a very detailed lecture about their actual situation as part of Ormunda’s “Special Forces”. The lesson that morning was basically to tell them that they were not formally part of Ormunda’s armies. They were side forces to augment the actual forces that would fight the Undead Coalition, but that did not mean that they were not important. It was just that to be part of the army, years of training were necessary, and the fight with the Undead Coalition took everyone by surprise at how fierce and aggressive the undead were. Anton almost laughed out loud when he heard that. The Undead Coalition basically conquered the Rendindura continent, and you’re surprised that they were aggressive? What kind of stupid deductions were those? Anton and the group that he was with would function loosely, like groups of adventurers formed to fight the undead, but in a somewhat cohesive manner, almost like an army. Every group would consist of ten men plus one captain. He was a little disappointed by the structure because he thought that he would be part of the actual army, but given the time frame, ten days was very short. On second thought, Anton did not care since what he wanted was to fight the undead head-on, and that was what he was getting. At around noon, everyone was dismissed, but this time, they were no longer allowed to leave the recruitment center. They dined in the cafeteria located at the back, and after lunch, they returned to the rooms, and then squads were formed. Anton’s squad was called Squad 13, and his captain’s name was Leonard. Captain Leonard was a 28-year-old high-wizard from a distinguished noble family from Ormunda. The captain boasted that more than likely, in two years, he would reach the archmage status, which baffled Anton, since to him, the Archmage rank was something not worthy to boast about, and he was already 28 years old. The recruitment center buildings were so huge that their squad was given a room to themselves, so that everyone could talk and get to know each other. Captain Leonard led them while holding a bunch of papers that Anton assumed contained the details of everyone in the group. Once they were in one of the rooms, each one of them introduced themselves, starting from the captain, and that was when Captain Leonard boasted about his wizard rank. Anton found it a little weird that instead of talking about how they would function as a group or what kind of strategy they would utilize, the Captain kept talking about the benefits they would receive once the Undead Coalition was destroyed or driven off from the Gale Continent. The captain talked about how lands inside the inner circle of Ormunda were possible rewards that were what they should be aiming for, as well as titles of nobility, since noble titles earned from merit were much more valuable compared to those that were bought by gold coins. It was as if in the mind of Captain Leonard, it was a given that the Undead Coalition would be defeated without any effort. The only thing that Anton could think of was that their captain was immature, but he let it go since it was their first meeting and they were only introducing each other. Besides, the most important thing to him was that he would finally be able to fight with the Undead Coalition inside an organization, and he thought that maybe that would allow him to fight with his heart’s content and then have something to escape to if he was in danger. Their group consisted of seven men and three women, and then Captain Leonard. Two of the ten were healers, a druid, and a priestess. The other two women were an archer and a swordswoman. The rest were a combination of wizards and warriors. There were no unique class holders among them, like the one his father and his two vice-captains held. When it was his turn to introduce himself, he simply told everyone that he was an archmage and an adventurer and did not elaborate on that. He did not want to seem boastful and divert everyone’s attention from the captain to him. He did not want to steal Captain Leonard’s thunder since, based on the man’s behavior, there was a chance that the man might resent him for that. His archmage rank did surprise everyone in the group for a few seconds, but that was it, thankfully. Their group only talked for a couple of hours, then they went to a building at the back of the recruitment center. The building was supposed to be their dormitory during their stay. The dormitory was as huge as the recruitment building, and it had complete facilities like mess halls, training centers, baths, and more. Each group would be assigned three rooms. One of the rooms was taken by the three women, the second room was taken by the captain and three of their members, and the last room was taken by the last four members, of wherein Anton was a part. They were given a booklet that contained the rules and regulations of the organization. It also listed the schedule and activities they would do during the ten-day training that would start the next day. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡⚫𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⚫𝘯𝘦𝘵 Anton occupied one of the top beds in a bunk bed in the room they were assigned, then he opened the booklet that was given to him to check what kind of activities they were supposed to expect during training. The three men that was with him did the same thing. Even though they were not a formal army, some of the training made Anton think that, at the very least, some of the training they would do looked like the training that soldiers were supposed to do. They were supposed to wake up at five in the morning, then they would start running for cardio exercise for one hour. Then breakfast. After that, an officer would meet with them to assess their combat ability and help them to form a rudimentary group tactic that they could perfect during training. Then lunch. After lunch, the squad would then meet in a classroom to start discussing their skills so that each member would be aware of what each one could do, and that the Captain of the squad would know what to expect from each of his team members. Based on that knowledge, the captain would then start perfecting their group tactic. Since their squad had two healers, Anton had decided not to share his Paladin’s skills, at least for now. He wanted to focus on being a main attacker, so he would only divulge his Sorceress spells. Regarding his summoning abilities, he thought that he should keep them to himself, at least in the beginning. He knew that not divulging all of his abilities might be a mistake, but Anton was truly overpowered. He did not want his teammates to foster reliance on him. During dinner, the whole group went together to the mess hall to eat. Everyone knew that they would need to form a bond as comrades because their lives would be dependent on each one of them. Even the Captain was with them, even though Captain Leonard was a bit of a snob. While they were eating, everyone talked about everything they could think of under the sun. Anton then learned that all of them had experience delving into the dungeon, but only at the Beginner Dungeon.
