He was keeping his mind and body busy with his workout and work while waiting for any news from the frontlines. "Come in." A said as he stopped what he was doing and looked at the door. "Excuse me, Raikage-sama. The Lightning Daimyo just arrived and wants to speak with you." The secretary said, shocking A. "What? The Daimyo is here? Why wasn't I informed?" A Said as he started to get angry. "We only got to know that the Daimyo came when he appeared just a few minutes ago with his convoy at the Village gate, Raikage-sama." The secretary replied "Then escort him in. Let's not keep him waiting." A replied, to which the secretary nodded before leaving and closing the door. "Something is up, and it is not good." A muttered to himself as he put down his dumbbell and stored his paperwork away. The Daimyo arriving at Kumo without any notice or request for shinobi escort isn't a good sign. Suddenly, the door to the office swung open with the Lighting Daiymo entering the room, and from the look on his face, this isn't a social visit. "Welcome, Daimyo-sama. I wasn't informed that you were coming." A said while not minding the rude entrance. "I am not here for pleasantries, A. Why are you trying to start a war with the land of fire?" the Daimyo said impatiently as he sat down, surprising A. "Konoha has imprisoned our convoy that was negotiating with this for peace." A said with a blank tone. "Don't give me that nonsense, A. Kumo was never the one to extend their hand for peace. The fire Daimyo had sent me a message demanding to know why your Shinobi were trying to kidnap someone from Konoha, while also demanding a part of the land of fire in the negotiations." The Daimyo said. "We have fully denied that. It is something that Konoha made up to stop our peace efforts." A said "Don't give me this political crap, Raikage. Your Shinobi was caught red-handed in the Hyuga heiress's room. And then there is the ambassador you sent; instead of trying to de-escalate the situation, he, along with the convoy, tried to escape, killing a Konoha Shinobi in the heart of Konoha. There is no denying what Kumo tried to do. The interrogation department in Konoha should already have run your convoy's memories dry for every detail. Are you trying to start another Shinobi world war? Because I have received messages from every Daimyo demanding to know if Kumo is intending on starting one when the last one just ended just over five years ago." The Daimyo ranted angrily. The lightning daimyo, along with every other daimyo, were the main source of funding and resources for their hidden villages in the third Shinobi war. That had a massive effect on the resources that they have access to, along with their own personal wealth, which hasn't recovered until now. That is why the lightning Daimyo is angry, along with the questions and accusations from the other countries on why his country is starting a new war so soon, when even the lightning country and Kumo haven't fully recovered from the last war. A kept quiet, not replying to the Daimyo, who took in calming breaths after his rant. "Pull back your Shinobi and invite Konoha back to the negotiations table." The lightning daimyo said with a cold tone, shocking A greatly. "What? You want me to retreat when Konoha was the first to send their Shinobi towards the lightning country." A said angrily as he stood up abruptly. "What would you think would happen when you did your little ploy in Konoha. You poked the killer hornet's nest, in their own home no less, and you think they will stay put?" the daimyo said calmly as he looked up at A. A gritted his teeth and clenched his fists in silent anger. It was a massive miscalculation from his side; he thought that Hiruzen's advancing age and increasingly pacifist nature would make him want to avoid war at any cost, giving Kumo the advantage. "A, if you want to continue with what you are doing, feel free to do so. But I will be cutting Kumo off; you won't get anything from me." The daimyo said with finality, shocking A even more. The other Daimyos have already threatened to cut all relations with the Lightning country if this continued as they were informed about the escalating situation by the Fire Daimyo. They aren't ready for another Shinobi war. The office door was burst open, startling the daimyo and A. A was about to roar in anger, but stopped when he saw who opened the door and what state he was in. "Darui? What are you doing here?" A called as he walked around his desk and towards the door. ThΙͺs chapter is updated by ππ π§ππβ‘πππ£π₯β‘πππ₯ Darui was in a pitiful state, panting heavily, his legs shaking uncontrollably as he struggled to stand upright, his knees threatening to give way any moment. "Aβ¦-sama," Darui said with a very hoarse voice. "Bring him some water." A ordered the Secretary who stood by the door. He wants to know why one of his Jonin, whom he and his father had trained personally, was in such a state. Darui took the water that was given to him and drank it before letting out a sigh and looking at A. He was with the Shinobi in the base in the land of frost and was tasked to go back to Kumo and inform the Raikage of what happened. Crossing the distance, that takes a jonin about a day to cross, in a few hours without stop or rest. He had pushed Lightning Chakra into his legs, pushing them to their limit, so that he would arrive as soon as possible, faster than any other Shinobi in the front or any messenger bird. "Yugito has been captured," Darui said as he still panted slightly "What?" came the uncharacteristically quiet reply from A. Darui didn't elaborate; he just spilled out the details the same way he heard them from Samui, the defeat, Yugito's capture, Naruto, everything. "Uzumaki." A said with silent fury as he heard the report from Dauri. He didn't anticipate the boy growing so strong, so quick in just three years. And those chains, they are the exact description of the Adamantine Sealing Chains. A technique that the Uzumaki, who were wiped out in the second Shinobi war, were known for. Lo and behold, Konoha has one that inherited those accursed chains, and he has captured the jinchuuriki that he had sent to intimidate Konoha. A stood up and marched towards the door, intending to go to the frontline himself. "A," the lightning Daimyo called, stopping A in his tracks, but he didn't turn around. "Remember what I told you." The daimyo said. He had heard what Darui said, but he had already made up his mind. A didn't reply and just walked out of his office. He knew that he had made a hasty decision with his and his council's plan to kidnap a Hyuga and test Konoha's tolerance. With the Daimyo threatening to choke Kumo financially, he had no choice but to pull back his Shinobi from the land of frost. "That if they could stop me." A muttered angry to himself as his lightning coat appeared around him before disappearing, heading straight to the frontlines. No one said he couldn't force Konoha to do what he wants by himself; he is the fastest Shinobi after all.
